  1. If there were any doubts about Iga Swiatek ability to back her big win over Simona Halep, the 19-year-old dismissed them in style with a straight-sets win over Italian qualifier Martina Trevisan on Tuesday.

The Pole is now into the semifinals of a Major for the first time in her career, having dropped just 20 games in her first five matches. She is also through to the quarterfinals of the women's doubles draw with American partner Nicole Melichar, which she will play on Wednesday.

Although she is now listed as the favorite to win the title by some bookmakers, Swiatek is trying not to put too much pressure on herself.

“At the beginning I felt little bit more pressure because I feel like after beating Simona, I'm not underdog any more,” she told reporters,“I just kept my mindset from the previous matches. I was just focusing on tennis, not that I'm playing quarterfinal, not that I'm playing a girl with lower ranking."

While Swiatek has been seen as a promising youngster for a while now, her opponent in Thursday's semifinals has been a big surprise in this tournament. Argentina's Nadia Podoroska is ranked No. 131 in the world, and had a career record of 0-1 in the main draws of Grand Slams before Roland Garros 2020.

After coming through the qualifiers, the 23-year-old scored some quality wins in her initial rounds. That included a victory over the No. 23 seed Yulia Putintseva and as well as over Anna Karolína Schmiedlova, who had earlier knocked out Venus Williams and Victoria Azarenka in the tournament.

But Podoroska's quarterfinal beat-down of Elina Svitolina was the first top 10 win of her career, and she is now set to play the biggest match of her life.

This will be the first meeting between the two players and their head-to-head currently stands at 0-0.

Both players have been creating history this week. Iga Swiatek is the first Polish woman to reach the French Open semifinals since Jadwiga Jedrzejowska was runner-up in 1939, while Nadia Podoroska is the first ever female qualifier to reach the French Open semifinals (the last female qualifier to achieve the same feat at a Major was American Alexandra Stevenson at the 1999 Wimbledon Championships).

Both players are also projected to reach new career highs in the rankings. Swiatek is projected to move into the top 35 while Podoroska will get into the top 50, based on the points earned to reach the semifinals.

Both Iga Swiatek and Nadia Podoroska use their court craft to build points, and are not afraid to attack the net when given the opportunity. Swiatek has slightly more power on her first serve and groundstrokes, but the Argentine is riding high on confidence as well - she won an ITF event just prior to the French Open and has now won 13 matches in a row.

If Swiatek can get a high percentage of first serves and dominate the points with her forehand, she should be able to win this match.

  5. Week 05.10 - 11.10 : Wednesday daily update :

Not the best , not the worst 2nd round , so overall we may say it was a decent one , at least compared to last week , this time only a few busted.Plenty of tennis , football , basketball , ice hockey , baseball , eSports , etc. selections , which makes it a well balanced competition in terms of different sports.

But looking at the bright side , there are still members who qualified for today and let's hope among them it will be our 1st Jackpot winner of this competition.

When we have a look at the stats after round 2 , we can see that : from a total of 25 , yesterday 9 members busted , which leaves us today with 16 still fighting.

  6. Novak Djokovic will be looking to strengthen his bid for a second French Open title when he takes on 17th seed Pablo Carreno Busta in his quarterfinal match on Wednesday.

Coming off a record-breaking 36th Masters 1000 title in Rome, Djokovic has been in top form in Paris. The Serb dropped just 11 games in his first three matches as he delivered emphatic straight-sets wins over Mikael Ymer, Ricardas Berankis and Daniel Galan. Djokovic also achieved a special milestone with his second-round victory, becoming the only player after 20-time Major winner Roger Federer to have registered at least 70 wins at all the four Slams.

With more records in his sights this week, including a Double Career Grand Slam, the Serb was at his best against Russia's Karen Khavchanov in the fourth round on Monday. Djokovic redirected his big-hitting opponent's pace without trouble and showed terrific shot-making ability as he struck 44 winners past Khachanov to register another straight-sets win.

Djokovic's next opponent, US Open semifinalist Pablo Carreno Busta, is one of the best claycourt players on tour right now.

Carreno Busta was spotless in his first two matches, winning both in straight sets. The Spaniard then had a tough outing against World No. 10 Roberto Bautista Agut, but put up a strong-willed performance to eke out a win in four close sets.

Carreno Busta had a far easier opponent in his fourth-round match, qualifier Daniel Altmaier, whom he beat in convincing fashion. The former World No. 10 has had a fine week in Paris, using his groundstroke depth to his advantage in the heavy conditions.

The Spaniard's consistent style of play will be a good test for Djokovic's impregnable defense on Wednesday, in a rematch of the pair's infamous encounter at the 2020 US Open.

The quarterfinal matchup in Paris is the fifth meeting between the two players, and Novak Djokovic leads the head-to-head 3-1 over Pablo Carreno Busta.

The pair met at the US Open a month ago in a highly controversial and bizarre match. After failing to convert three set points on the Spaniard's serve in the first set, Novak Djokovic accidentally hit a lineswoman with the ball in anger and found himself disqualified from the tournament.

Novak Djokovic will be looking for some good-old fashioned revenge against Pablo Carreno Busta, who had indirectly prompted the Serb's default at Flushing Meadows by saving all those set points.

Undoubtedly one of the two players to beat in Paris so far, the World No. 1 will be looking to shrink the court with his efficient hitting. Djokovic is an expert at opening up the court with angles and drop shots, and is expected to be on top of Carreno Busta in their exchanges on Wednesday.

The Spaniard is solid in all departments of the game, and might put pressure on Djokovic in some of the neutral rallies. However, it is unlikely that Carreno Busta would be able to sustain that pressure over the course of a best-of-five sets match.

tennis match of the day : Novak Djokovic vs. Pablo Carreno Busta ( Scheduled to start 19:00 CET - 07.10.2020 )

Question #11 for the daily giveaway on the 07.10.2020 is :

If there will be any tie-breaks , when will it happen first in this match? (When tennis players win six games each, they generally play a tiebreaker to decide the winner of the set. The player due to serve the 13th game serves the first point into her opponent’s deuce court. After the first serve, the serve goes over to the other player, who then serves the next two points, serving first into the ad court and then into the deuce court. After the third point, the players alternate, serving two points each — always beginning on the ad court. After the first six points are played, no matter what the score is, the players change ends (and continue to do so after every other six-point span) until one player wins at least seven points with a margin of two points.). A possible 5th set will not be valid for this question.

    A. In the 1st set of the match there will be a tie-break.

    B. The tie-break will happen first in the second set of the match.

    C. First tie-break of the match will be on the 3rd or (possible ) 4th set .

    D. This match will not have any tie-breaks.

Simply post your predictions , A. In the 1st set of the match there will be a tie-break , B. Tie-break will happen for the 1st time in the second set of the matchC. First tie-break of the match will be on the 3rd or (possible ) 4th set or D. This match will not have any tie-breaks, in this thread and get a chance to walk away with a €30 prize in free bets ,credited to your Unibet account in 3-4 days after raffle is done.

In the event that one of the players will retire before the end of the match , but 1st tie-break did happen and completed before the retirement , the predictions will STAND. Only if one of the players will retire before the end of the match and there has been no tie break up to that point, ALL bets will be voided.

Deadline for this question is around : 18:50 CET ( 07.10.2020 ) Best of luck!!!

  8. After a bumpy start in the first games of the match , the young polish sensation , Iga Swiatek , started taking over the lead and went all the way in another important win for her at this Roland Garros, with an easy victory in straight sets over the italian Trevisan. Only 16 games were needed for it , so we have the answer to our daily question :

How many games, in total , will this match have? Answer : A : 17 games or less in total in this match.

  11. Tennis fans unfamiliar with Iga Swiatek before the start of the French Open must surely be well acquainted with her by now, after her shoch win over top seed Simona Halep on Sunday.

Ranked No. 54 in the world, Swiatek's run at this year's Paris event is no fluke. She reached the fourth round of the French Open last year and the Australian Open this year, and has been touted as a player to watch for some time now.

The Pole played one of the best matches of her career to take the former champion out of the tournament. She displayed all the weapons in her arsenal to the fullest - from her solid serve to her powerful groundstrokes, and from her volleys to her deft touch.

Martina Trevisan, meanwhile, has been one of the other feel-good stories of this year's event.

The 26-year-old reached the semifinals of both the French Open girls doubles and the Wimbledon girls doubles events in 2009 before taking a break from the game due to personal issues. She has been back on the circuit since 2014, competing mostly on the lower level ITF circuit before coming through the qualifying draw this week.

Trevisan's road to the quarterfinals has been packed with big upset wins, including 75th ranked Camila Giorgi, 51st ranked Coco Gauff, 20th seed Maria Sakkari and the fifth seed Kiki Bertens.

Iga Swiatek and Martina Trevisan have met twice previously, with the head-to-head tied at 1-1. Trevisan won their round of 32 encounter at Warsaw in 2017 on clay, while Swiatek won at Birmingham on grass in 2019.

Over the years, many young players have scored a big upset win only to come out flat in their next round. It will be interesting to see whether Iga Swiatek manages to avoid that fate in her first ever Grand Slam quarterfinal.

This is a match in which the Pole will be the favorite; some bookmakers have already listed her as the favorite for the title itself.

Swiatek has a more aggressive game than Martina Trevisan, to say the least. The Italian will likely rely on her court craft and counterpunching abilities to extend her dream run here, while the Pole will look to hammer winners at every opportunity.

If Swiatek is able to produce a similar level to what she did on Sunday, she should be able to reach her first ever Grand Slam semifinal.

Tennis match of the day : Iga Swiatek vs. Martina Trevisan ( Scheduled to start 17:00 CET - 06.10.2020 )

Question #10 for the daily giveaway on the 06.10.2020 is :

How many games, in total , will this match have?

    B. 18-19 games in total for this one.

    C. 20-21 games played in total in this match .

    D. 22 or over number of games played in total in this match .

Simply post your predictions , A.17 games or less in total in this match , B.18-19 games in total for this oneC.20-21 games played in total in this match or D. 22 or over number of games played in total in this match ,  in this thread and get a chance to walk away with a €50 prize of your preference ,credited to your Unibet account in 3-4 days after the raffle will be done.

  13. Dimitrov was clearly not having his day , and the tennis displayed by the bulgarian wasn't the one expected , but to this , for sure contributed a top performance from Tsitsipas , who managed to win this match in straight sets. Looking at the winner shots , from both players, not that many , to be exact , it was 46 , number which gives us today's answer to our question :

How many "winners"  we will have , from both players, in total , in the match ? Answer : A : We will have , in total ,from both players ( Dimitrov + Tsitsipas ) , 60 or less"winners"  in this match.
