Terrible running on the tables. lost all the profit so far and then some more. The ticket is looking very poorly, maybe needing a vaccination against flopped sets and runner runner straights and flushes. 😭

I feel you. Same here. Today in 1hour I got rekted 3 or 4 times when I had set or straight on the flop and then ...
Ahh, what to do, tomorrow is another day, I have enough for today ;/

DAY 6

Just as a warm up for tonights two community tourneys I went and blew the cash ticket 😭 so I may be tilting off later.

But it's not all bad. The playthrough is completed, I now have €2.01 on the account, 🙄 and I'm right back into the basics with a €40 2-4c ticket. That started well.

286030598_Screenshot(1701).thumb.png.88a61c95d3bc397fe7a5a5dc48816ab9.png

@P0kerM0nk said "Imagine 1 million hands at 4NL, think I’d need to be hospitalised to a psychiatric ward after that"   I'm already arranging my bed. 🤣

It did settle down after that and I got out  an hour later with over €3 up.🙂 I'm going to stop calling it profit, there's no profit till it's completed.

Have fun tonight.          :3s: . :7s:

The tilt meter is evenly balanced as I'm accepting maybe 2-4c is my level, or even above it. 🤔

  • 2 weeks later...

Two hours in, second table has been going about half an hour. One all in when I called with AK against a 20bb shove with J5s and held. 😀

Three hours in. Coming back from the last break the table had closed, bad timing. 🥴

Lost an all-in with KK against J5, nothing new there then. 😥

Over and out for the day. 🙄

Lost with a rivered nut flush to a house.

Three and a half hours, 355 hands, 49 flops, loss of €3.97 from a height of plus €4. I had just got back to a new high on the ticket, should have given up then. 😭

Tommorrow is another day!  🙂

It's been slow going the last couple of weeks, I've been 1 tabling in an effort to concentrate and attempt some of the platinum challenges, so far with not much to show for it. 🥴

However, the ticket is at a new high after putting in a 2 tabling session (sharp intake of breath) in what was a remarkably consistent and non trauma inducing 2 hours. 🤣

My biggest problem still seems to be pushing for a new high. I set off with the best intentions of playing a long session every time but after hitting new heights the fear of losing what I've made so far still gnaws at the back of my mind like an annoying thing that's really annoying. And maybe I run out of stamina and .............................................................., now where was I?..................................oh yes, concentration. I had made a stack of €20 on one table last week but after nearly 3 hours, I simply lost the will to carry on. I definitely make more mistakes the more tables I play, but at 1 or 2 at a time it still seems awfully slow. Still, I've not set a time limit so there's absolutely no pressure and at the moment winning over 10bb's/100, so not terrible. We'll see how long it lasts.

I'm in the zone.

I've experimented with cash a lot over the years (with not much luck).

But thee last couple of months I've been playing shorter sessions with more breaks i.e 30 minutes to hour and half max and make sure I move away from the pc for half hour or so when finished. I've actually started winning, I find I lose my patience/concentration online if I play too long. Everybody's different but just a suggestion

If you don't mind me asking, how do you know you're winning at 10BB/100

Enjoyable thread btw

    Thankyou @MrWhite

I check each day in the Game Lab how many hands I've currently played then at the end of the session or day total how many hands I've played. I keep a running total on a spreadsheet, hands played and money won or lost, leading to a simple calculation for winning (or losing) big blinds per 100 hands. If you don't know how to do this I'll run through it for you. 🙂

I have four timers set up from an app on my pc in 1 hour increments. When my table(s) are set up, as soon as I get dealt my first hand I click on all the timers. When the first one goes off after an hour I sit out on all tables at once and take a break. Eight minutes is enough for a quick break, a stretch and maybe make a cup of tea, rinse and repeat every hour. Sometimes I'll give up and come back later but I tend not to play in the evenings, I watch quite a bit of sport. So far this year the longest session I've done is three and a half hours, actually a losing effort,  😥 but the days of me doing marathons are long gone. 🤣  One table is definitely way too slow, the other day I was sat there 20 minutes, was 20c up but hadn't seen 1 flop, not ideal when running a ticket. I'm happy enough with 2 tables, 3 if things are going well. The last 4 table session I played was just over 2 hours and a loss of €17. This tells me something important, I was running bad. 🤣🤣

I may be overly tight but it suits me and seems to help me pick up on other players tendencies, making better decisions wether to attack someones play or leave them alone.

Good Luck with your blog from one

I've just reached 10,000 hands for the ticket, 1,400 flops, so seeing a flop just over every 7 hands. Running at just over 14bb/100 and now intending to try and speed up a bit. The problem is that I still have to be really in the mood, I would be an awful grinder if I had to do it full time, still only playing about 10 hours a week. I probably won't buy high flop tickets again, they seem to take forever at my pace, and of course I would release the cash (if any) from smaller ones much sooner. The release from the playthrough bonus seems like an even slower crawl as well but again that's just down to volume and again, protecting profits is rearing it's head again.

The other thing holding me up is I only played 20 minutes this afternoon and stopped as 2 near double ups on 2 tables hit the €6 profit. If I could consistently play through that mental barrier things would be a lot quicker. I never used to be like this and it's not the fear of losing money, it's the fear of looking really bad playing amongst what are some really bad players. Maybe I shouldn't say that as I'm down in the 2-4c circus myself but there really is some horrible play down there.

Two limps, I raise, 2 calls and a 3bet. I 4 bet, a call for a stack and an all in.

It works sometimes, mainly against me and @WhydomyAAalwayslose? 🤣

And sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire.

I can play just as horribly at times. I would not normally call an all in with 88 but playing fewer tables you can see a lot more of what a player has been doing and have a reasonable idea what they're up to.

   I experienced an epiphany today.

Stop checking the ticket to see how much you're up or down.

Play till you've had enough, never mind wether you're up or down.

Only collate the results when the session is finished.

Keep all tables topped up to the max.

On the face of it they're simple enough rules but sometimes hard to follow if you're wasting negative energy. I feel as though I might have freed my mind, or what little of it I have left while playing in the circus. 🤣

Hand of the day.

A whole 9c won, thank you!  😥

It's not all about what you have but also if villain has anything.

Always Fun. 😲

After a few steady days today turned out to be one of those we'd rather not have.

Half an hour in and 2 buy ins down. An hour in and 4 buy ins down. Running like this.

That would normally be the signal to pack it in for the day but not for the new improved mind set. Knuckle down and ride it out.

It took 3 hours, a long session for me, the BB's/100 may have taken a battering but I made it out bloody and bruised but still standing.

Flop Number 3,000.

245993380_Screenshot(1915).thumb.png.9b898b4fc8eb1a5ca98bd655397db2c9.png

The bare facts. I won't 🥱 you with too many details, just the major ones.

Eighty two hours played over 50 sessions, varying from 1-6 tables. (One table bad, six tables bad, I just can't find the sweet spot.)

23,892 hands at just under 300 per hour.

3,000 flops seen, one every 8 hands.

695175214_Screenshot(1914).thumb.png.8e09c67a2bc3dd918de60590440758bc.png

€75.67 won at just under 8 BB/100.

And at the end?  Should I be happy? Not exactly stats showing a crusher, more of a small winning 🐢(definitely me) but up till 4 days ago I was running at 16 BB/100 (🦁) and then hit the wall. If I'd started off losing then climbed back up I would be so much happier, but it's just a matter of perspective.

I think I'll stick at 2-4c at least for the rest of this quarter but not playing 3,000 flop tickets, they seem to take forever, at least for a casual rec anyway. I'd be interested if any of you, grinders especially, have some stats on those.

I can't say my original enthusiasm for poker has fully returned, the last few days just go to show how mentally strong you must be. Seriously I don't think I've played badly, I actually know I haven't, but there have been two serious tilt occassions only compounding the losses. At least with the ticket I couldn't move up in stakes to "win it all back" 🥴 something I could and have done in the past. The mental game is still a huge part of my problems anyway.

Enough drivel, back to the (slow) 🏇🏇

Have Fun. 🥂
