Played all 15 events today, was a huge grind (and at many spots had too many tables even without other tables running). 50€ hyper (15th), this one and that one got deep, but no cigar.

Would have been great trophy with those bounties, but in the end luck didn't make it possible. Nice score though, was still somewhat disappointing day in rhe end as had good shots for points (and cashes).

Horrible Monday. Too many buy-ins to 50€ ones, almost managed to get hyper one to money but 3 flips near bubble stopped it. No runs today, just managed to mincash 10€ hyper which just busted when 3-bet shoved 4-handed from button with KQ and AK woke up from blinds. And mincash (for 3 euros) 2€ Title Fight.

Got one 50€ ticket at least from satellite (won via 5€ ticket from freeroll). Hope that ticket has better runs.

Probably gonna play from Tuesday till Thursday, and if not getting good scores skipping rest of the series after that. Saturday would have an alumni event which I would love to participate, so if leaderboard is at bad shape then I prefer fun over bad poker luck.

Was a super horrible day, so started drinking. While there were ups and downs, got this little score which isn't enough to save leaderboard or make day good, but at least it means a profitable day. And it long looked like -95% ROI day.

0 cashes, 0 points from finishes. So likely concludes UOS for me. Got level 3 so another freeroll to my schedule.

I might still play tomorrow, but without great scores unlikely to play after that (3 low trophies incoming for huge losses!).

Really hard to grind long series which has so many events. And since overall leaderboard counts all of them (except crappy phases) - it is all events or no events at all.

My upcoming Unibet schedule:

Super horrible ending of superb potential day. Started by crushing satellites (2/2 satellites at Unibet got me tickets).

But with 4 of the major events running like this (lost 3 flips in a row) and counted 3 semibubbles and one 7th place at smallish 55 NLO8 hyper it was completely ruined.

d539.png?ex=656cfe10&is=655a8910&hm=ed2a

Probably slightly losing or break-even day as satellites, 2 mincashes and bounties brought most back, but even by missing the most horrible bubbles would have been solid +300€ day. Not speaking about hitting the potential triple crown...

So day is ending with a new friend called

@Farseer

I'm sitting on a few Sunday Million tikiets at the competition, can you recommend some online sources or youtube videos regarding PKOs?

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

Cheap and crappy. Spoils good coke.

Not really, I have been reading Dara's book though and think it good for players not familiar with PKO elements: https://www.amazon.com/PKO-Poker-Strategy-Progressive-tournaments/dp/1527262774

Covid week going on. And 2 satellites I played went horrible, level 3 freeroll had like 5 flips and ended up losing them all while 100€ ticket sat got a nasty spot and dealer's special again:

Still bit tired so prob skipping the rest after a bad start (1 mincash from NLO8, small buy-ins so with ticket would have been profitable day).

Should I revive this blog?

Problem is, that there's no playable R/A's at Unibet, maybe 1 playable Banzai Bounty and no O8-tournaments. Community events might be fun though and I occasionally play a satellite or two when I see overlay around.

Now I got my reason to do so. Thanks for the push.

Why I don't anymore play on Unibet

While I used to play a lot on Unibet in the past, nowadays I play almost no MTTs on Unibet. Main reason is that MTT schedule got destroyed in October 2022 completely and now Unibet MTT schedule is almost a complete ghost town on buy-ins higher than 10€ (I calculated 10€ R/A's to cost 25€ or so in average). On daily schedule there are very few buy-ins over 10€ (only and literally not a single one of them has got reasonable guaranteed (over 200x of buy-in).

First, let's just bring up for new readers that I solely play MTTs. There are three formats which I usually play:

  • First are Rebuy/Add-ons. I usually late register right to add-on, to get some extra value while getting right into action without super deep phase which usually takes too long to my taste.
  • Second one are Omaha High-Low tournaments. Usually preferring fast formats, hypers are my favourite but I can play shorter versions too (either high buy-in PKO events from the start or lateregging regular events with short stacks)
  • Third one are new: they're 10bb PKOs which are called at Unibet as Banzai Bounties. Fast and skill-intensive, I love those.

I also have always advocated and wished that Unibet would introduce Omaha Hi-Lo, which is third most popular poker format (some claim that PLO5 takes that slot, but no, especially on MTTs PLO8 / NLO8 is far more popular). It's much more skill-insentive than Texas Hold'em and it has far more playable starting hands making it far less "fold, fold, fold"-game than Texas Hold'em.

Banzai Bounties were sort of my babies, and I love them dearly - just have to play them where they are available. Problem playing them at Unibet is, that I don't play micro stakes and there's no events over (or even) 5€ buy-in when I usually play (I usually start my session after only 5€ Banzai Bounty has already started. So sad - but I am glad they are well alive elsewhere.

While there are few games I could still play: for instance 10€ R/A satellites in Sunday and those 5€ Banzai Bounties if they happen during my session, problem is that playing only 1 table from Unibet is not worth the hassle. Especially if you can find similar game from other sites where you are already playing.

About UOS Serieses: they have lately become pretty much became just a glorified version of daily schedule, with bit higher guaranteeds. With highly diminished leaderboards and inflated runtimes, they're just not worth of grinding especially as you have to play both 2€ and 100+€ events both, often ending up playing 9+ tables to fight for meaningful prizes. It's just too much for me and probably for 99,9% of poker players to do that, so easier to skip it completely as generally series doesn't really differ much from daily schedule except for a bit higher guaranteeds.

I sort of like Community events, but they have also became sort of repetitive and boring. We need a drunken @Stubbe-Unibetor @Rushbieto stream them to get some entertainment!

Why wasting my time to post this? Well, I am bringing up my view that Unibet MTT schedule has been pretty much ruined during last few years and there's still a chance of fixing it, namely making Unibet to offer some games that LITERALLY every other site doesn't already offer. PKOs and re-entries really are games which anyone offer and Unibet has super bad guaranteeds on those. So Unibet should (also) offer games that her competitors doesn't offer, for instance:

  • Rebuy/add-ons
  • Banzai Bounties for reasonable price level and prize pools
  • Omaha Hi-Lo MTTs

That's my hope, that Unibet gets to revive. To be honest, I am not sure if Unibet is still interested about offering competitive poker offering nowadays. People working at Unibet poker nowadays certainly love their job, but task is hard especially if they don't get some major support from Unibet preparing as a company to make Unibet Poker great (again).

Software is nowaday decent: I honestly don't love it, especially stupidly sized tables but there are far fewer bugs than there used to be. Having a casually-oriented place to play without having to worry about poker analyzers / HUDs got a merit. And there's this kind of community feeling as well, which is rare nowadays on different poker sites.

Emotions are good in blogs, but let's not write too much stuff that's outright silly and wrong, while presenting it as facts 😄

  • MTT's have never performed better on Unibet than now, when we look at performance relative to other game types (COVID an exception, but that period is irrelevant for any data comparisons)
  • MTT's are just overall performing great, from a financial perspective, and the changes to the schedule have been a big success
  • The schedule has higher guarantees now, for the highest buyins, than it did before the major overhaul
  • The biggest daily tournament was a €4000 R/A with a €10 buyin (so around €25 real buyin). Now, it's €7500, €50 buyin. And if we look at €25, the biggest daily guarantee is now also €4000.

It's fair you don't like it, but don't pretend the old schedule was performing better than the current - it doesn't even come clos.

Ain't that poker overall in nutshell 🤣 Yet something about it keeps us coming back for more time and time again.

We all want what we want, that is fine, but funny that you happened to mention all formats that i personally wouldn't mind removed from all sites for taking space at schedules 😄

Hi-Los are fine as cash but as tourny? Meh.

Nice views. Did you move there for good if you don't mind asking? Streaming related or just to escape shitty weather 😄

I would never play them as cash. Mainly due to the rake issues though (usual split pot, house wins). MTTs are super fun, I suggest you try them! Especially when they are KOs.

We bought an apartment here together with my brother in February. Preliminary plan is to spend winters here and summers in Finland, but it will probably evolve over time. Going back to Finland next week.

I f*cking hate these Finnish winters nowadays, and feel better when air doesn't hurt my face every time I go outside. So escaping shitty weather - streaming has nothing to do it as not doing anything which would be illegal in Finland. Quite rarely even stream unless there is a reason to do it 😄

A short question: is there any Unibet Community regulars coming to The Festival event in Rozvadov? Unibet arranges satellites there so I think there's a good chance some people might to join up. Would be fun to meet some people from the forums IRL.

I won a package there and will be around from 3rd of June till 9th of June. This is going to be my first live trip since late 2019, since after covid I haven't won a single package (2020-2022 was quite dead on live front anyways). Used to travel a lot on different live tours during 2010's (usually 2-5 tours per year) and hope to do so again.

UDSO might be fun to join too via satellites, but 250€ for a live satellite for a package is bit too rich for me. Maybe shotting some seat only satellite for Barcelona or San Remo?

Made 5 gamedays from Sunday to Sunday, up to 55 MTTs per day and now enjoying few nights at a Spa.

One losing day (which was latter Saturday). Played like 40 MTTs from GG (Banzai Bounties and fast PLO / Texas Bounties), 10 MTTs from Stars (NLO8s) and 5 MTTs from iPoker (PLO / PLO8 R/A's).

Tough luck at GG when I got 0 top3 places from there (except a trophy from their Finnish special which I freerolled) but got almost 10 trophies from other sites (mostly O8) and netted about 3500€.

Feeling good about my game, but getting sleep and relaxing between 12 hour sessions is super hard.
