These Are the Voyages...

633€ from that 2nd place. Did come up to 40bb against 80bb but A6o < ATs took rest of the chips.

Quite fine though, series went badly but this cash brought back some downswing + leaderboard probably brings 150€ worth of points. Considering that all 100€ events drained money losses were somewhat bearable.

I'm trying to develop in MTT and plan to go higher limits. And here comes the issue of satellites. In my opinion, there are several ways:
1. I play with my comfortable bankroll management of 5 MTT and over time, as the bankroll becomes larger, I gradually enter 10 MTT.
In my opinion, this is the longest option, but at the same time the most stable, especially if you consider the need to withdraw funds.
2. I make the bankroll management more conservative (do I need a more conservative bankroll in this version?) and play 5 MTTs and satellites for 10 MTTs on a permanent basis.
A fairly stable option, but there is always an opportunity to play something more expensive.
3. I make the bankroll even more conservative and play 5 Satellites and 5 MTTs.
An aggressive option. Rapid growth in limits is possible, as I will play satellites even at 50 MTT and 100 MTT. But there is also a question of skill and psychology, whether I will be able to effectively play tournaments for 50 or 100.

@Farseer Of course, I'm not asking you to make a choice for me and plan my bankroll management, but if you express your opinion on the effective raising of limits, I will be very grateful to you.

MTT variance can be brutal, so if people have generally no extra money to pour in I suggest extreme caution with their bankroll.

I actually think 1000x buy-in bankroll is needed for safe bankroll management for MTT games - while Unibet has smaller games and variance might be bit lower satellites especially can quickly ruin bankroll as entering satellite means that you have to both A) get the ticket and B) actually cash at the target tournament to get some money back. And in addition to that, mentally playing that bubble which can be bigger than trophy at tournaments where you generally play can be very tough.

I would go with safe route and in addition to take some satellites when I see good overlay or other extra value in them, as long as it don't jeopardize my bankroll long term.

Decided to put my feedback for the series into separate thread and link it to Lappin and Dara as well so it reach to people who might actually do something with it:

Now less poker, more something else. Got bunch of 25€ and 50€ tickets left though so gotta play 2-3 days during next two weeks or so. Maybe play some community events alongside and get drunk while streaming 😂

Now that I checked, got bit more points than expected (last 2nd place clearly brought up nice amount of points):

Been super tired and stressed and haven't slept well after the games due to all kind of stuff, so probably trying not to play much poker before Sunday. But gotta play then to use some tickets. Maybe two next Sundays reserved for poker?

Running like a reindeer with these tickets again. Last week had some major sleep pattern problems (fell asleep during afternoon and woke up in night) so not good for ticket games. Well, just gotta play today and in Sunday and last 5 tickets are finished.

I just think it is stupid to have 14-days expiry at 50€ tickets which you can only use for 2 daily MTTs, it just makes me play less satellites and less target tournaments in general. With 25€ tickets you at least have an option to use extra ones for 100€ flip satellites 😄

So today probably gonna play Title Fight, Fofty, one or two live satellites from other sites and at least one freeroll from other site. Maybe some O8 alongside them to keep it interesting. Slobberknocker? Maybe, depends on how I feel (at least those 100€ tickets have 30 days expiry so not in major hurry with those 2 tickets).

Would love to have some live poker vacation trip, but outside of The Festival Malta there's quite few of them and Malta has a slight problem that there's no direct flights from Finland and hotels seem rather expensive. Well, at least have flights to Dubrovnik, Croatia in around 3 weeks so there's some trip coming up.

I probably would play some The Festival satellites in Unibet if could use 50€ tickets for them. Did play some 10€ -> 250€ ticket satellites, but no luck in those.

Since France is not tempting live poker location and it is still a question mark where next non-French live events will be so I won't be grinding for live packages after Malta satellites conclude though.

No luck today. Roller-coaster at 50€ Title Fight but busted bit before ITM:

100€ PKO didn't start well either, at the turn just had one pot left so not a chance to get rid of it:

d175.png?width=1322&height=779

Bad luck today, with some chances. But few bounties + one mincash + some scraps from freeroll probably brings back money I used to other events (which isn't much, probably around 100€).

Got 2x 25€ tickets, 3x 50€ ticket and one 100€ ticket left. Sounds like a Sunday session alongside some other stuff. Just gotta remember to early reg with those tickets which are in danger of expiring.

Well it was a short session (third lost flip was AAJ2 v AK53 at NLO8 which is 67,4-32,6 favorite for me). Just throwing rest of the tickets (mostly 2x 25€ ones) to lottery satellites and just got one 50€ ticket left which I may or may not latereg today (still got 5 days on that).

When you got no fire for poker and "must play"-session doesn't start well (and "must" goes away), got little incentive to play a session. Other games and stuff are much more fun!

5th place from Sunday Ruiner. Not great, but started much better than earlier games (75-25 into split)!

d187.png?width=1386&height=814

Pretty close, opponent was aggressive and we had just got 6th player out and players weren't very active to take flips while chipleader dominated table so hard to get prizejumps without risks. Sort of "okayish" 5th place if there's one.

  • 1 month later...

Long break from poker - haven't really played much anyway since the beginning of 2019 in comparison to 2015-2018. But during last few months I haven't played much sportsbook and casino either (which was easier to fit into timetable with studies), so money flow have been bit drying up.

I will probably try to grind 4-5 days a week next month and try to find suitable balance between poker (work) and free time.

Unibet Community leaderboard and one bit similar leaderboard on other site + some good-value freerolls would seem to indicate Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday gamedays from the start and Monday + Friday as free days.

Positively surprised from Q2 (April 1 - June 30) game results: +12,5k€ and in addition still have 400€ worth of bonus points in Unibet from earlier series.

Did come mostly from smaller winnings and from one 4000€ cash from freerolled 200€ mystery bounty event where I got 10 (mostly smallish) bounties.

Yesterday was bad, just 2 bounties at the community MTTs. Last PLO MTT went to the final table but 1/5 -> 5th place.

Not big buy-ins though, did stop regging after two hours. Let's see if today games go better.

Max buy-ins, no cashes today at the community front 😄 Not starting good at this LB.

Horrible runs on other games too, but I will try to fire proper session today was tempted to quit moment ago when had just 1 table running with short stack.

Ultra hard to keep up playing after a bad start, and it happened today too. Partially due to calendar being flawed as wrong late registration time to R/A's which is probably due to different MTTs having different structures in Sunday and other days. Super annoying!

Hmm, maybe I should stream tomorrow and force myself to reg stuff from 8-9 pm until 2 am.

Well, at least won last (PLO8) MTT. Not a big one, but 350€ much more than (short session) buy-ins. Tomorrow gotta try to keep up longer session, even if with fewer tables. With or without stream.

Probably gonna late reg PLO ones since I like playing that game with shallow stacks + early regging community MTTs often take too much concentration from other MTTs. Just those passwords make it bit annoying, hate to search those during session so printed schedule + passwords on paper and taped it on wall.

Well, blind betting monkey got extra 1k from guessing that Spain U21 - Ukraine U21 ended up 5-1 (had that and 5-0).

Planning to start a stream within next 1-2 hours: https://www.twitch.tv/farseerfinland It's gonna be mostly in Finnish, but feel free to say hello. Hoping that it will improve my concentration in the game which has been severely lacking.

Trying to fire a full session. From Unibet planning to play these:

21:05 Communityevent Unibet

21:30 Communityevent Unibet

22:47 10+r turbo latereg Unibet

00:41 5+r hyper latereg Unibet

Do you record your streams? I'm sometimes watching parts of your recorded videos on demand because I'm getting the itch to get back into the MTT game.

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

Nowadays it's impossible to keep them as records to watch later at Twitch since I listen to copyrighted music while streaming.

Oh, I understand. From your perspective, if you look at bigger MTT fields (Jokerstars) in comparison to smaller MTT fields (Unibet), do you recognize a difference in your ROI? I'm assuming that the bigger the fields, the larger the variance, however do larger field also imply a larger potential ROI in the long run?

I just play O8 MTTs at Stars really and their fields are quite small. At ipoker I play some bigger fields, but haven't played lots of them because they run so late at night. Overall I have been playing very little during last few years.

Probably not huge difference, but bigger fields bit better in terms of ROI. Which gets negated by longer average runtime.

Haven't played megafields lot usually since longer runtime and much higher variance + worse promotions.

First week wasn't good result-wise (slightly profitable, bad starts at the leaderboards) and problem remains that holding up reasonable sleep patterns proved to be hard. Even today woke up 6 pm though got sleep 6 am and had wake up call around 2-3 pm (slept over it).

Well, gotta try to play 5 days this week and consider the possibility of playing earlier PLO and O8 events instead of late rebuy/add-ons which often last up until 4 am or so. And if community leaderboard continues to go this bad and it seems impossible to reach top2, maybe just sack community events since that would free Tuesdays and Saturdays from compulsory grind.

This week aiming to get bit better mix of poker, free time, good food, some exercise and sleep.
