  1. Unfortunately it's been a rough couple of weeks, had some stuff going on away from the tables as well which hasn't been helpful and sort of lost focus. I'm definitely finding myself getting bored of playing the same games and same stakes, especially with the games being considerably tougher than they were a year ago. I really want to get back into streaming but I'm not going to be stream HUSNGs for obvious reasons so I'm looking for some suggestions/inspiration. Which games would you watch if I were to stream? Cash? MTTs? Hexa? Would likely do a bankroll challenge, €100 to 10k, €1k to 20k etc. Would like to hear some ideas please as I'm at a loss these days, motivation is waning.
  2. The paradox of being a freeroll hunter and on a VIP list...
  3. I wouldn't read too much into 1st place finishes compared with 2nd in 5 mans without consideration as to how many chips you generally start HU with. Aggressive players will likely have larger stacks when hitting the money but will finish outside of the money more often whereas if you just try to scrape into the money you're going to finish 2nd a large % of the time. As for HUSNGs it's hard to say because some of the players at €1-4 are so bad that I reckon I could sustain a 20%+ ROI vs them but I would say 8-10% is easily achievable if you play a low variance pre-flop strategy with the plan of just value betting the hell out of them when you hit it post-flop.
  4. Needs? Nobody needs an invitation to a freeroll. If you're desperate to play poker, make the minimum deposit.
  5. Cheers Patric, good luck in the new role!
  6. Yesterday was a bit meh. I had a woman drive into the side of my car causing a load of damage and hassle with insurance companies as a result. Started the grind tilted which was compounded by not being able to win a game at the start. First €100 of the day I lost from 1940 vs 60, lovely. Played a €100 Hexa and had QQ into KK, played another and a guy open jams AQ with the other player calling 64 (for 25bb) and hitting a straight. Very next hand I get AT so I open jam expecting him to call with any old junk, he has AA 🤣 I also lose a €200 HU just to top things off. I then bink a 5x to save the first part of the session but still €200 down at this point, take a break to try and get back into the right frame of mind. Saved the day nicely towards the end even if volume wasn't great (games were dead). On the plus side, the 25/50s grind for the month is going well:
  7. Let's hope 2020 can continue as it has the past couple of days. Here is today's results:
  8. Gr1z do you think that the lack of anything tangible could be the reason for your loss of motivation? For me, other than the actual card game, what got me hooked on poker is the excitement of building a bankroll, moving up stakes, challenging myself higher etc which is why when I tested a method of depositing say £200 as a bankroll each day and withdrawing any profit/reloading any losses each day I found that motivation waned quickly as it became very monotonous and there was no real sense of achievement as all profit just went into a bank account I don't even look at. Might just be me but I feel like you've been in this ticket grind for a long time and because the top prizes are so infrequent you're almost missing any dopamine rush that attracts us in the first place? Just a thought, gl mate.
  9. Honestly the worst promo game I've ever played on any poker/casino site. Please never reuse this one. On the flip side (excuse the pun), king of flips is probably one of the best.
  10. Not a big update as I only got back from Poland on Saturday but a decent start to the new year. My main games for 2020 are going to be the 25/50s with the 100/200s and any Hexas being games I probably only play when tilted or running well and taking shots. Here's the 25/50s so far: Non-main games: 100s -€18 (3 wins from 6) 200s -€212 (1 win from 3) 100s Hexa +€300 (1 5x win from 2 games) Bonus payments +€35 Total +€105 Week 1 profit = +€771 Almost forgot to mention how much I enjoyed skiing in Poland, lovely country! Here's a couple of pics.
  11. Hey @TDW. En route to the airport for a skiing holiday in Zakopane, Poland so might as well kill some time with an update. 2019'has definitely had its fair share of ups and downs. The games on Unibet are ridiculously tougher now than they were 12 months ago, lots more regs and fewer splashy recs. Results started well but I suffered 2-3 horrific downswings in the second part of the year, hence the lack of motivation to update and my decision to stop streaming. I don't have a monetary figure for profit/loss but I'm still grinding full time so results must be good enough (although way down on where I would've hoped to be). I will try and update with some graphs when I'm back at my computer after new year. 2019 could've been so different if a few things at certain points during the year had gone slightly better. Every time I took a shot at 100/200s it seemed like I could play a guy who would just jam all in every hand and would crush the life out of me. I am probably down thousands at the 200s but I would be surprised if my EV wasn't positive. I've also struggled in the reg battles at 25/50s in recent months but when confidence is low/running bad it's easy to doubt yourself so I've tried mixing up the hours I play to search for the softest times of the day. Definitely happier in some aspects of life but other things are compromised as a result. I can often go a few days without leaving the house and I am living a very sedentary lifestyle these days. Once again, I will be hoping to make positive changes as the new year rolls around, more volume, healthier eating etc. I'm also learning some JavaScript on the side as I eventually want to get out of poker but that's a while away for now. Apologies this isn't more comprehensive but it's hard on the phone without graphs and I seem to have no cursor hence the paragraphs being all over the place. Have a good new year everyone.
  12. Pretty sure I've lost about 25 IQ points over the past 5 pages.
  13. Do you realise how ridiculous you sound? You're moaning about the free stuff you get not suiting you.
  14. Do you want it or do you really want it, @GR1ZZL3R?
  15. My opinion is the same as what Gr1z said, all you're really doing is moving the bubble. If you're bubbling tournaments often then it's probably better to assess why. Are you going into the bubble as the short stack often? If so, you're likely playing far too tight and scared just before the bubble. If you're not the short stack on the bubble, are you bubbling because you're too reckless? Not sure if you're talking about normal MTTs or satellites. For normal MTTs the majority of our winnings come from the top 3, so there is often little benefit to creeping into the money and we should be leveraging our stack to maximise the chances of top 3. For satellites, well you'd be much better off reading Dara's book than following any advice I have.
  16. Feels like 10s was quite easy but swings are massive in them, so I decided to drop to 5s until I have 500BI for 10s. 5s are super easy and I probably have around 70-75% winning days there. I have around 5-7k games in them at the moment. Dont ask me about roi, since I didnt track my results in any way. But to what I feel, I have something around 5-7% roi in 5s. May be even more. Wouldnt be surprised if it was closer to 10% actually. Winning or losing 40 BI in a day or even losing 40BI in the day and winning it all back is not that rare in them. Thats why I decided to play 5s. Losing 10-15% of the BR in one day hurts, but losing few hundread is fine. Well this is the problem. With a 5k bankroll there are more profitable games out there than grinding €10 hexas for 40-50bi daily swings. The profit is not enough imo to warrant that sort of variance but if you can make it work then good luck to you! I would rather just grind something with a little less variance.
  17. Pokerstars have just intoduced faster spins as well, 300 chips with 1 minute blinds. The advertising is so wrong imo, all under this lie that these fast paced games are being added in for those who just want a quick games of poker on the move or whatever. I may well be corrected but I struggle to imagine that those who play poker today compared with 5 years ago are suddenly much more in a rush that they cannot play a game with 500 chips and 2-3 minute blinds. Another reason I find it disingenous is because back in the day people used to play a hyper turbo HUSNG if they were in a hurry but wanted to play. These averaged maybe 2% rake. Spins are 5-8% rake across the industry on general, hmm I wonder why poker sites are desperate to get people playing these? In terms of streaming I really enjoyed doing a couple and I want to do more. The problem is me sitting there exposing my whole cards for other HU regs to see is just not worth it. Did anyone enjoy the streams I did where I had the holecards covered with no delay (only showing all ins)? I guess that's an option. Other than that, I would probably need to switch full time to MTTs to stream.
  18. Hey, how are you getting on with them? Yeh my graphs are done on excel. I just paste the data from the poker history section on the website, sort and put into a graph. I've got a load of formulas that look at ROI/win rate and other things.
  19. No HU streams planned unfortunately as it's too -EV. Will let you know if that changes though!
  20. Hexas aren't rigged in any way, there's no need for them to be. 6.85% rake with 56% of your games having 1 min blinds & a further 25% having 2 min blinds, simply very unlikely to be beatable running at EV imo. The swings are so large compared to other formats and the bankroll needed to play them as a result makes it more profitable to play something else.
  21. HUSNGs aren't great for points unless you're playing the highest stakes. You'll average around 100 points per €1 rake. A €10 game rakes 30c so 30 points on average or 3k points for 100 games.
  22. Cheers Griz. I do feel a bit of a fraud giving up so early but if I'm honest I naively went into it thinking the high rake and faster speed would be offset by the games being considerably softer. What I found though was that 1 or 2 tabling these may be fairly profitable from an ROI sense because of the focus you can put into each decision but from a pure monetary sense, I believe you need to be mass-tabling them as rakeback certainly comes into play. At the higher stakes you will easily hit 40-50% RB but at the 10s, you're needing to play 300+ games per day, which long term is going to create big swings for the sake of not many euros. There's just a lot of factors that make these somewhat unbeatable including the rake and super quick blinds. As I mentioned on stream the majority of your sessions are decided almost solely on how you do in the 5x/10x multipliers as anything above this is going to be so rare it's not really going to have an impact long term. You can easily win just 30% of games but profit for the session and vice versa at 37% win-rate. I thought moving down to the 10s would negate the impact of the swings but I was wrong. I lost almost 50bi on the first day of playing these, I've never lost 50bi playing heads up that I can remember. Add to that I am not the strongest 3 handed player, plus I will be taking lower EV lines heads up because I've got more tables and less time, there didn't seem to be much point continuing when I could just grind heads up instead. Fair play to anyone that can grind these full time.
