Point is, although some say different, var changes nothing.

VAR changes everything. Obvious wrong calls affecting the outcome of the game are not possible anymore. The only reason there're issues today is the way some rules are written. There's too much room for interpretation today, the handball rule being a perfect example. You might not agree with every call made involving VAR, but it helps the referee to always make an informed decision. The refs are human and the rules can be interpreted, but that's got nothing to do with VAR.

  2. I agree with every handball penalty call made so far, and both in the Bundesliga and CL it looks like they've almost started using what's hopefully going to be the new handball rules: "It appears that the change, if put forward, would remove the word “deliberately” and define handball as to do with the hand or arm being in an unnatural position at the point of contact. Agreeing what is an unnatural position might also be tricky but one proposal is for it to be defined as if the ball strikes the arm above shoulder height. It would also be an offence if the ball hits the arm below shoulder height but in an unnatural position, which could be defined as more than eight o’clock or four o’clock from the body. Any goal scored after striking the arm of an attacking player would be disallowed".

VAR is great for the sport already, and it's going to be even better. Even if you don't agree with the call made yesterday, you can't blame VAR for it. The video assistant referee did not make the call. Skomina watched the replay several times from different angles and made as informed a call as its possible.

To me it's a clear handball.

@WuDu, the fact that Otamendi is moving his hand towards his body at the very moment the ball hits, that doesn't (and imo shouldn't) make any difference at all. Only thing that should count is the position of the hand when there's contact.

If we decided to rest Reus, Sancho, Paco, Witsel and Bürki for the return game, after losing 3-0 to Tottenham last week, our chance of winning the UCL would still be higher than Schalke's right now! 🤣 My advice: Take the 4.50 Euro loss, cash out immediately and put the rest on S04 not scoring a goal in both games against City. Thank me later and you're welcome!

    Miracles have happened before :D

With a ton of luck and a miracle of a goal at home, anything can happen. Guess the chance of Schalke progressing is probably the same as them losing with +7 goals over the two games. Odds +500 is pretty decent (301 on Unibet which is high compared to the rest of the market).

My "prediction": Schalke to play extremely defensive, City to miss A LOT of chances, Kutucu to score a goal on a counter attack in the 2nd half. Schalke to cruise home a 0-0 in the 2nd game 🤣:inlove:

  4. I think it's difficult when there's only one community mod/manager at the events, as the first priority will always be to take care of the players there.
When both Marco and I were in London (https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/Unibet-Open-UK-Tour/Unibet-Open-London-2017-Live-Updates-Thread/m-p/72611#M1449) , I could take care of most of the updates and Marco handled a lot of the practical stuff. There were also a lot more community members attending e.g. London 17 and Bucharest, and the members posted more, as the threads were very active.
With the community team being one man less today, it's obviously a challenge to send two guys, and it might also be difficult to justify financially, unless there's a lot of members.

Personally I was really quiet on here for this one, as the event was mostly for workshops and team building with the poker team (I joined just over a month ago and @Michael-Unibet has just joined the team). At future events I'll try to help out the community guys a bit, and I also want to spend more time with the players there.

@sgriff, at least the Unibet Open is much better this year than the past many years. Still room for improvement with the UK tour, but I know it's something the team is aware of, so sure we'll see improvement there as well.
For the next community side event I'll bring my camcorder and do a live stream :)

So many new things in the last couple of months, but i didnt see a single good one.

    - Ticket exchanger removed: terrible for every player with common sense.

This one has already been discussed. It's basically not great for the winning recreationals but it's great for everyone else as it makes the games softer and is better for the ecology.

    - HexaPro: not a really bad one, but its deffo for casino players.

You can like or dislike a game format. So far it's been a great success and many players love it.

     - Bounties from the freerolls removed: i dont need to explain, those two cents would be useful w so many nano tourneys around (i play them only for promos, like the bounty badland, but by the numbers i think they are successful)

This was for technical reasons - the tournaments sometimes got stuck. The issue has been fixed now and as Leo confirmed above, they are now back.

Leo is looking into it as mentioned already :)
