GG Unibet

I have been familiar with Unibet since the days of Microgaming and for many years it was my favorite site, although it was not even in the top five in terms of game volume. In the last two years, the volume of the game on this site has grown significantly, I really cheered for the development of this brand and even became part of the community, which at one time helped me a lot morally to survive all this shit that is happening around.
I had a lot of plans for this year related to Unibet: to make even bigger volumes, finally set a new record for the most profitable year in a "career" (so far it is Pokerstars 2014), collect all the Community League avatars and even start playing Hex, to fulfill bi-weekly bonuses.
But my expectations are my problems, and business is business, so as a toxic and non-environmental guy, I will be kicked out the door just after the 10-year anniversary celebration.
I was very offended by this news (it should be noted that I have not received the official "letter of happiness" yet). I'm the kind of person who can get very attached to people, groups of people, things, and even gambling sites (as weird as that sounds). This feature of my psyche can really hurt me from time to time, and instead of just googling a new poker site, I can't shake the feeling that I've been betrayed. But again, my expectations are my problems, so of course I will survive all these lost avatars, the good expectation from the Unibet fields and my exit from the community and UAT (this is the most painful, because I really sincerely tried to help the development of the product that gives me a kick under the ass).

There was a text here about the goals for the 60 days I have left as a Unibet player, but fuck those goals 🙃

Thats really sad news there. The first second I read it on discord my thoughts went to you. I'm repeating myself writing I (we) just can't attach ourself too much on one single product. In my time here in the community I saw many valuable members leaving by the choice of governament and I ask myself again who will be next.
You try to achieve goals, collect avatars, titles and all of a sudden it's all lost. Not fair, but nothing we can do. And maybe tomorrow I'll open a topic like that

Go strong this 60 days Sergio! 💪

You can vote for candidates/parties that respect people rights to earn their living and not patronizing communists 😉

Most likely us next year, not probly banned all together but if/when bonuses are taken away, no selfrespecting gambler play with significantly worse terms than others. That is big -ev before even single card is dealt.

Really sad to hear this, man. You were one of the guys I enjoyed following here and the way you found the strength to stay positive during these horrible times is an inspiration. You still have options, right? I hope you'll find a way to drop a thought from time to time here or on Discord, would really like to follow your progress. Best of luck in the future and at the tables !

Spoiler

even against me 😅

Thanks for the support guys. It's nice and it really helps, I'm not exaggerating. The fact that Liver did not mention the war and the Ukrainians (although my message and his are on the same page of the topic) I also perceive as words of support 😁

Of course, you can find a place to play poker, but there are many factors that make the search very difficult. I mostly play MTT, but I don't have a lot of session time, so I need small fields. And I have little trust in "B-C" rooms, there are always some scandals with them regarding bots or super users.

Maybe I'll play Hex, that option is also being considered now.

In any case, I will still be able to have an average/above average income for Ukraine on any site, but when I was already making plans for a more serious level of play and life, now of course it is depressing.

But if you look at all this through the prism of positivity, then instead of a ticket (which expires after April 1), you can see money.

There is the first one 🤑

Lets not mix things here, thou we have different opinion about some things don't mean that we couldn't agree on others and i do support people to be able make or spend money as they wish (inside law limits). As far as i understand Unibet ditching Ukraine is strictly business matter so voting wouldn't have helped in your case but overall people should vote and with it demand better things for themselves even if they are not interested of politics overall. As long as people vote cause "she is so hot, young and wishes good for all" like in Marin case (surprise, surprise they created new elite club of nonsense and money sucking with buddies Zelenskyi, Hillary etc https://yle.fi/a/74-20072351 ) things don't get any better.

Especially inside EU, which should be freetrade area, all sorts of added regulations to limit inviduals rights piss me off. In the name of moral posing and good intensions of responsible gambling they restrict everyone  thou i am pretty sure that in modern age of all the internet banking, softwares, AI, planting chips to brain to connect it to internet etc they could create bulletproof systems to get rid off people gambling more then they can afford for example allowing only 10% of last months incomes to be deposited or something like that. Goverments, banks, casinos and EU have lots of way more capable persons to figure it out tan me if they would really want to do so but no, patronizing, restricting and good intensions is way better 🤮

Phew, really got me going there, must chill now 🤣

PS,i don't hate (nor love) anyone here if that is what you thought just for the fact that i really don't know anyone for real, this is only internet as far as i am conserned. I can troll, be cheeky or sometimes even be pissed off about something or someone but it usually takes two to tango, i don't spew just to make peeps feel bad, metely trying to keep things real rather than blowing up asses with "Ukraine will win" or "lets kneel for blacks"

Over and out 🙂

Unfortunately yes. If it were politics, it would be easier, firstly, there are more chances that something could change over time, secondly, another reason to dislike politicians would not upset me so much.

Damn...soon there will be no one allowed to play online poker at Unibet. Just in recent history Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Hungary and the list just goes on. And probably more will follow.

Welcome to my world!

18, 45, 180 man turbo SNGs on jokerstars usually run for around an hour and have some slight Unibet MTT feeling to it. However they're full of regs.

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

I feel you man...

Unfortunately I received the same email. This was the worst thing which could happen to me in regard to work. I have such big gap i my resume that finding a job even as a janitor is impossible(I speak from experience). One day I decided to conduct an experiment and registered on the top site for finding jobs in Bulgaria. Although I have pretty good and rare bachelor degree: Applied Linguistics (English and Russian) and even filled: Translator, Freelancer 2008 - 2020, Poker Software Tester 2018 - 2021 and my main source of income  Professional Poker 2008 - there was a gap... I haven't been on a "real" job my whole life. So I applied for 50 jobs and received call back for interview from just one. I blew the interview on purpose because then I earned more through poker and played about half the time.

My point is that it's good, if not mandatory for a poker pro to have some back-up plan. I sadly have no one. Also no options to play MTTs in the few regulated rooms here, at least professionally. Maybe few translation projects or even some of these tasks on Appen will do, but even if I manage to succeed in this field it will mean very little to me compared to the mediocre success I had these years as a poker pro, especially here on Unibet.

I will miss you guys. Will miss the community tournaments and the competitions. The various threads and blogs which I followed and now regret for being so rarely active, because after two months I couldn't be posting there even if I want.

I wish you all the best of luck and please keep this community alive.

@GothMoth I understand you and my situation is very similar. No one needs a microbiologist in Ukraine, and if one is needed, then only as a worker at a sanitary station (~200 euro salary), or as a biology teacher (salary up to 300 euros at a school, up to 400 euros at a university). Micropoker is better than Microbiology 🫥

The same, but this plan can be created, there are not so many alternatives to Unibet, but they are there, although each of these alternatives has great disadvantages to Unibet. I don't know what the situation is in Bulgaria and what games you play, but there must be some options.

Bulgaria probably does, for that reason, at least it doesn't seem like a purely business decision, because I've never heard of Bulgarian players destroying poker. I don't really want to throw firewood into the fireplace of rumors and panic, but if this is true, then Poland is also under the crosshairs and it's just a matter of time.

I think it has to do something with regulations. And of course bussiness reasons also. The online poker isn't regulated in neither of the countries like Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland. It is in the grey area. I think this is a big reason why unibet exited.

That is what i figured without knowing for sure and cause they are very open about it: "It will also speed up our path towards 100% locally regulated revenue."

https://www.groupefdj.com/en/presse/fdj-launches-a-recommended-all-cash-tender-offer-for-kindred-to-create-a-european-gaming-champion/

so it makes sense why unregulated get banned.

We'll see what happens in the end to each country but overall don't like it when companies get too big and hoard players under same roof. Less competition always bad from customer and competition pov.
