DepchZ Posted July 14, 2018 Share Posted July 14, 2018 My expectations for tomorrow: Giroud is due for a goal and the best players will start if it's only a minor injury, it's the finals of soccer world cup, can't get much bigger in sports. In hockey players play through broken ribs and minor fractures etc. in the Stanley cup playoffs. Doctors can work miracles and postpone some pain for a duration of couple of hours if it doesn't hurt the performance. Personally: Need big games from Hloris & especially Pogpa & Giroud to get me to top 3+ in this FC comp and thus have a possible spot in top 10 total leaderboard with having a bit more or around 4k points. Looking at the positions the odds are that I will bubble out however (I actually thought of abstaining from playing once I received the big R#2 win getting me to around 4,3k points to secure a place in the top 10 total leaderborard but made decision to rather have fun and play it out courageously and try to achieve more than choose the cowardeous but perhaps smarter option). If I bubble out, it it was a conscious decision and happy about it, but staying positive and still trusting that the universe would rather credit the courageous act. :) Fun fact: I have so far received 32 yellow cards in all the player drafts combined so far and have no room to get any more tomorrow. Regarding the cards for example: Day 6: 4 yellow cards Day 14: 5 yellow cards Then 2 yellow cards etc. in many of the drafts. I am sure if everyone checked their own stats totals it might get surprisingly large. Also regarding that result with yellow cards: I acknowledge that I don't follow soccer that much at all in national league levels so that I don't know all the tendencies of the players nor did I have the will to go and research them that thorough so that has surely affected some of the results. I also many times just tried to play and pick players in a way that I tried to predict that the other ones are picking and try to go an alternative route and pick core players outside of them (many times average, but good if you hit the jackpot and I did get 2 wins in R2 & D10 and a total of 5 top 10 positions, it was a good approach for this payout structure). Sometimes I used some other means as well. There are players who are much more knowledgeable about their soccer. :) +++ Note to self: My biggest fail was the rest of the tournament picks for the 2 competitions. I went for the underdogs in a go big or go home way feeling secure with the points I already had and not taking in to account how much points others can achieve from them. Then not only I picked the underdog teams but also risky picks there and I did it in both of the tournaments for a double fail, when I perhaps should have just secured them or at least the other one with more safer and alternative picks. :) That is a good learning experience and a reminder to not get content even in longer competitions where you might feel secure with your points. ps.
