@FreedoM any number ? :)  raising from ...  to ... ?

Don't really know the numbers, saw it on tv, and as you may guess its not only on gambling, they introduce more taxes for other stuff. As the guy on tv said, they are taxes for greed, i just wonder when people of this country will actually have enough of this BS. I'm a really chill guy, but i came to see the government of this country as organized crime, and some taxes as extortion. Daylight robbery. The worst part you can't do anything about it. :puking:

But F It when i can't take anymore of this BS i will leave the Country like @4soul did. :wonder:

@FreedoM ,

There is no need to worry at all. The romanian government needed more money for the 2019 budget , so they started in december to find some milking cows in order to squeeze more.

So , they initiated a law project , in which they wanted to tax more the gas, electricity , banking and gambling industry.

In the first place they wanted 10% more from the annual profit of the gambling operators , after that was about 5% . Of course , everybody went crazy and thought this is the end of the gambling industry in Romania , forgetting that a law project is not already a law and until it's not published in the romanian official journal , there is nothing but speculation. This is how politics works , so they needed a negociation starting point with the gambling federation.

And in the end , on the 29th of december the Government Emergency Ordinance was published in the romanian offical journal , with some important changes , as expected. Instead of 10% , it became 2% , and not from the annual profit , but from some wagering from each bookie made per month. They don't need to pay this tax retroactive from 2018 ( like it was in all media ) , but only starting 2019 .

For sure , the bookies will not accept this tax so easily , so most likely , this tax will be included in the bet slip ( like in the offline agencies ). Which means , that every bet slip you place , you will pay with 2% more from the original stake. Of course , when we are talking about small bets , this is bearly anything , and the highrollers will be affected in a way , but , again, not in an extremly serious way.

So , the world in not ending :)

Honestly i'm not a big fan of this gourvement (really hate them) but i really don't have a problem that they want to raise it from 1 to 2% the only thing that i'm not a good fan is that with ANAF and that you need to give them every withdrawn from the last year (i was very happy when Unibet automatically take 1% from every withdrawn that i made instead of letting me to go to ANAF and to lose a lot of time)

Any idea if this year will be the same ?

We need to give to ANAF every withdrawn or Unibet will do all like in the 2018(after summer 2018 i believe)

@AndreiBN any idea?

Not anymore , @Ivanus . And not only for Unibet, but for all ( online and offline ) gambling agencies . It's in the law that the bookies need to pay this tax now .

@FreedoM if the numbers do not match, probably Unibet will withdraw from the Rumanian market ... officially... Romanian players (not only ) are lost because every tax end of the end is reflected on the end customer -> odds etc. ...   probably taxes from winnings also increased or are present ... such ideas(taxes -> ban online sites because they can not agree to these numbers for a many of reasons)  are usually influenced by ground-based bookmakers  ... there are probably many factors.

and here is my personal conclusion: in Poland, such a law was called: anti-gambling, and state have plan to run : poker, casinos smth like that ... generally very stupid ideas ... but what ideas can have socialists ? these people are thiefs from born, their children will be thiefs , their grandchilds also ... until.... :)  But if taxes and such laws are anti-gambling, may cause people to play less in casions/sports bets ... maybe this is the reason why people prefer work in "grey" area or dont work at all and get social help...

finally romanian pros will move to other countries .. i dont know ... Germany, UK, Estonia or smth like that ...

@FreedoM I will not be worried about you ... Unibet will find a solution for this market ...

and finally some numbers from Poland and how they affect taxes on you 😛

1. You bet duel on Unibet : 2.00 x 2.00 x 100 Euro ... if you win you have : 400Euro

2. Ground-based bookmakers in PL : odds are smaller(we know why :)) ie. 1.80 x 1.85 = 3.33  if you win you have 333euro .... but you have yet 12% tax from that amount ~40euro  ... your win is: 293 Euro  And they call it anti-gambling

The only losing side in this is player ... propably country too (if would be similar law  in Romania, Poland as in Germany, UK for companies such as Unibet etc)

Bad things in poker started to happening in Romania, when they just rejected players of most online poker rooms... hard moment for me going further and still playing....

I am still on ANAF lists, because i didn't pay my 1% from the last period of 2017. I phoned them and didn't receive a good answer. I am still in Germany untill next summer...i will gain some problems if i will do that by my own , or i must send someone?
