  1. A UOS with either a 1 week gap before the second half starts, or a 2 week contest with a day break every say 3 days. That makes it accessible for the recreational players whom Unibet are targetting. I've played the series properly once and despite doing well (1st in nano, placed in low and high leaderboards and 10th overall), 2 straight weeks of late nights and then up very early in the morning for work was not an enjoyable experience and I haven't tried since. That feels quite damning given how well I did, yet don't want to play again under the existing format. Can it be made more recreationally friendly? I'd love to play it again if it was compatible with having a job.
  2. Please can you transfer my uk tour entry from Brighton to Manchester.
  3. Sounds good. First time in a few years that I haven't played at least one Open event so would be nice to play again.
  4. I've got a €50 ticket to use up, but don't want to go to the next leg in Paris for a number of reasons. If I was to win a €250 ticket, how long do I have to use it up? Am I correct in saying that it is not possible to extend the ticket if the Paris qualifiers are still taking place when the ticket expires?
  5. Hate is a strong word, but I think people appreciate having new cities/countries to visit. Having said that - please keep Malta!
  6. I was surprised too by the lack of updates. I don't even know if the community game ran, whereas before there were photos etc. This is of particular interest as I was in London on Saturday and was tempted to pop in. Does anyone know if it ran and how people got on? Any idea which community members played the main event?
  7. Interesting hand - am interested to see how others would play it (I haven't read replies yet). This is how I would play it. Preflop - With 69bb I would be betting a bit bigger here as a min raise is giving people good odds to call with a variety of hands and you will then be playing a drawing hand oop. I would go for x2.5. Flop - I would cbet here as you have the pre flop lead and a Q is well within your range. If he calls, you still have 2 overcards. By check calling you are handing the initiative to him. If I did check here (which wouldn't be very often), then it would only be to check raise if I had expected him to attack my check. I'd then be showing a lot of strength and also have 2 overcards. I'd fire again if a A, K, J, T or a spade turned up on the turn. However, that is a high variance play in a MTT so possibly not the best approach from me. I like to mix it up a bit every now and then though. Turn - I would lead out here for 3k. If I check, there is a good chance he will check behind either for pot control with a Q or to take a free card on a straight draw (his range will include a lot of broadway cards) or a flush draw. We raised UTG preflop so he isn't going to be too happy to see the K. So I'd rather charge him some chips. The size is deliberately on the small size to entice a call from a Q. Some may think this is too small as it is opening me up to facing a completed spade or diamond flush on the river - they may be right. River - Nasty card at first sight, but then I'd remember that he didn't pot control by checking the turn making holding a queen less likely. So as played out to his bet, I'd call here. However, I wouldn't have checked here as you are then giving him the control of the size of what is likely to be the final bet. I'd lead out for about 1/3rd of the pot and fold to a raise. If I thought that the opponent was overly aggressive and was attacking a perceived weakness, I'd seriously consider calling a river shove. nb If you had lead the betting on the flop he probably would not have still been in the pot. Thanks for the hand!
  8. Keep going @MetalWolf. I know what you mean about the toll the series has, and that is why I'm not playing it (apart from using a couple of tickets I won), despite previous success. I found playing 2 weeks non-stop too tiring along with a full time job early the next day, and of course it's a big impact on family time. It's still very tempting though as I do really like the concept and the challenge. I'm playing the 25/25 at The Vic next weekend so that killed the series as a possibility for me, and to be honest I was secretly glad as I didn't want to get tempted back in after remembering the impact last time. I just wish they would have a blank day every 4 days to give a bit of recovery time, especially as the site is aimed at recreational players. 'It becomes almost embarrassing to be transparent when failing so hard.' - You aren't failing! If you are getting it in good then you are succeeding, just not being rewarded for it. And I know that you are getting it in good - you knocked me out one of the qualifiers by getting it in good. Good luck tonight.
  9. If it is affecting you I'd normally suggest taking a week out and relax and come back in a better frame of mind. However, not so easy mid series! So turn it into a game. Focus on making the correct decision for each hand, and don't worry about what happens next. Make the objective of your session to play your best rather than be results orientated, and just give a wry smile and say 'whatever' and move on to the next hand when you suffer a bad beat. And remember - if people didn't play as badly as in the hands that you have described then it would be a lot tougher to make money in the long run. When you see a bad play like that just remind yourself that is exactly what you want to see. Luck will balance itself out. Ride the bad luck out now and reap the good luck when it arrives. Keep focusing on making the correct decisions and ignore the variance. You know you are a good player so keep going.
  10. Good to see the exchanges come back with sensible restrictions. What has put me off in the past from the satellites has been the opportunity to multi buy in (I prefer a level playing field) and to an extent, the late registrations which are depressing as you try to play properly on a bubble, turn down opportunities to win chips, win a seat only for that not to happen as someone jumps in just as you knock the last person out. That puts me off playing tbh.
  11. Hi Andrew It was interesting hearing your views on the structure. Below is an extract from my post 2 months ago when I was explaining why I’d probably be skipping the uk tour this year. As you can see there are some common themes. I hope the levels revert to 40 mins at some stage as I really enjoyed the uk tour especially catching up with everyone. It felt strange not going last weekend, but the plus side was I also got to see the Wolves game! Hi to Charlotte and good luck for 3 months time. ‘for most players (ie those that are knocked out before the 40 mins levels are reached) they play as a turbo and it's a long way for me to travel just to play a turbo. It's ok if you arrive with loads of tickets, but even then it's got the potential to be a very expensive weekend if several tickets get used.’
  12. Can I have my results from the time I started, split as many ways as possible so that I can play around in Excel. Thanks
  13. @Stubbe-Unibet I totally agree. Big improvement with the Unibet Open schedule. And that will make a big difference for me and is appreciated. Last year I missed out on Malta as it was revealed too late and I had family commitments by then so it was a non-starter. This time the date is on the calendar and I have 3 x €250 final tickets ready to go as soon as the London finals have finished. I assume I will see you there, especially being so close to home!
  14. I agree about the slowness of the live schedule updates. Has been a bugbear of mine for a long time. I don’t think that is the ambassadors’ role though.
  15. @Leo-Unibet Hi Leo, Yes, we are both doing well thanks. Hope you enjoyed Sinaia. It looked a fantastic stop and a really good idea so well done whoever thought of that. I would have tried to qualify but it coincided with a busy period at work. Yes if you could convert to cash then that would be good. I'm probably not going to attend the UK legs this year. I'm not keen on the turbo structure to be honest. They are more fun to play, but for most players (ie those that are knocked out before the 40 mins levels are reached) they play as a turbo and it's a long way for me to travel just to play a turbo. It's ok if you arrive with loads of tickets, but even then it's got the potential to be a very expensive weekend if several tickets get used. I've been looking out for details of the tour in the hope it will revert to 40 minute levels but I haven't been able to find anything yet. Hopefully we will catch up with you in Malta. Regards Simon
  16. @Patric-Unibet I have a spare UK Tour ticket left over from last year. I think it was a second ticket for when I played in Brighton which didn't get used and I'm pretty sure I forgot to ask for a 2nd ticket to be converted to cash. Please check to make sure I am not overlooking a ticket conversion, but if there wasn't one is it possible to convert it to cash now?
  17. Thanks for the info @Patric-Unibet. Do you know if the UK Tour will be going back to 40 min blinds or will the majority of the play for most people still be a turbo? The turbo structure was more fun to play but less of an incentive to travel far unless you turn up loaded with tickets.
  18. Good to hear that feedback has been taken into account and dates released in advance.
  19. Publish your live events schedule a year in advance like your competitors. You have a great tour, but releasing tour dates and venues 1-2 months before the event is not good for the recreational player. I missed several legs this year and last year due to last minute announcements.
  20. I haven't used the auto exchanges myself, but the ending of them does feel a bit worrying. I'm worried it might put a stop to people trying to win packages because they don't have the bankroll, and if that is the case then that is a shame. @Leo-Unibet you have mentioned that it has been difficult to predict when the tickets would be used. I suspect that the problem over the past 2-3 months has been that the finals have been running without the venue or even the event date being known for a significant period. Coupled with the fact that Unibet are no longer allowing packages to be postponed to another event has I'm sure put people off. I personally have reduced right down the number of Unibet Open packages that I have tried to win following the decision to stop people postponing packages. The dates for the events are released relatively late when compared to other sites. There were reasons for Dublin, but other legs don't seem to get confirmed until the one before is completed. This makes it difficult for me to attend as by the time I then qualify it is leaving little time to give my employer notice of my holiday request and flights are more expensive by then too. Ideally, I'd have a package in reserve to use as soon as a leg I can make is announced. And then I'd start trying to qualify for a 2nd package to use the next time. Now I'm not playing at all. Would it be possible to feedback a request for packages to be allowed to be carried forward? Limiting to a max of 1 being allowed to be carried forward feels reasonable. Any 2nd package won must be used immediately - that would help with any concerns Unibet might have with packages being stockpiled.
  21. I spotted that too tonight and was surprised it got through given some of my very inoffensive aliases have been blocked in the past!
  22. Is it possible to extend a Unibet Open package to future events? I have a number of satellite tickets in my account but there is no point using them to win a package if it is not possible to postpone the package. I missed out on Malta as the dates were released too late, and will have the same problem for Bucharest as I already have something on that weekend. So at the moment, I have tickets I'm too scared to use as they could be wasted. I could hang on to after Bucharest, but I don't even know if I can make that event either as the date has not been released yet (common theme!). The problem is I'm trying to use tickets up but have no idea where the event will be or when. I just want to use up the tickets I have - I'm not entering new satellites with cash and making the problem worse. If it's not possible, then can €250 satellite final tickets be extended? I have one which expires on 27/10 which is more than enough time to play, but of course if I can't make the event then it might as well expire next week.
  23. I won a €50 ticket tonight and the expiry date is 29 days time. I thought that longer expiry dates were going to apply?
