GR1ZZL3R Posted August 6, 2018 Share Posted August 6, 2018 A few of us are having a crackers champioship, anyone welcome to join in.Simple rules.Post a hand of your hand getting cracked, first one losing with 10/10, then JJ and so on up to AA, continuing on with two pairs, trips and so on as high as you can go. The champio is the one who gets his/her highest hand cracked by midnight, 31st August. Hands must be posted in sequence, not a flush then a straight etc, and if possible show the date cracked, we don't want some super archivist winning today.Starter.I'm off and running, JJ next for me. GR1ZZL3R Posted August 8, 2018 Author Share Posted August 8, 2018 Having had time to think it over, it seems it could be a bit long winded to get all these "cracks" in a specific order so to make it a little easier heres what I propose.1. Post your hands in any order, starting Sat 11/08/18 - to give peeps a chance to catch up with this thread.2. All hands must be taken to showdown, you can't fold your pair on the river then claim it's been "cracked".3. Your hand on the river is what it is, if you're dealt AA and it improves it doesn't count as a pair being "cracked", it must still be a pair at showdown.4. Ten hands to make up a complete set - pocket pairs 10/10, JJ, QQ, KK, AA. Two pairs, a set, trips, a straight, a flush.5. Two pairs is using both hole cards, ie: dealt J3 and a jack and a three on the board, not dealt JJ and two threes on the board.6. A set is dealt a pocket pair and catching a third on the board.7. Trips is catching a pair on the board matching one of your hole cards.8. A straight must use at least one of your hole cards, 56789 on the board, and you have AK and someone else has a 10 doesn't count, but 5679Q on the board and you have an 8 beaten by 8/10 (or a better hand) does.9. Same with a flush, you must have part of it in your hand, not just on the board.10. Post the hands as and when you get them or save them all till you have the set, we'll see how many can complete before midnight 31/08/18.I have no idea how long this will take, obviously the multi-table grinders would do it far more quickly, and it could depend on your bankroll how far you want to go to lose a hand, especially the smaller ones, so it's unfair imo to have first past the post, I'm expecting a few to complete the set, in which case I have a tiebreaker in mind. Let's get cracking, or rather being "cracked" and enjoy losing for a change. Bad beats are sooooooooooooooooo boring so let's try to make them more fun.11. Just remembered, no freerolls to count, it's too easy to lose a hand cos it's not costing anything. 🤣 Sorry! Trips. A straight. A flush. Ok, here's two very important lessons.1. Don't brag about not getting your AA cracked, the poker gods have a warped sense of humour.2. AA should be your friends, try to treat them as such and don't mess about with them.I was doing ok when I got these and to be fair there had been a few shoves in the previous few hands, so I called hoping for an all in. It didn't come, so on the flop I c-bet, being called started ringing alarm bells. The really bad move was on the turn, I knew I was in bad shape but just couldn't stop myself. I could have got out with 2,000 chips left but blew it. Take heed and don't play with fire, you might get burnt.My bonus hand isn't being cracked but doing the opposite.
