I just find it funny, that you're stressing the tm-value of Sane and Uth (40 M together) and compare it to the actual transfer fees (7 M) and determine that your team is now 33 M "stronger". However on the other hand, you'll ignore the fact that you lost 58 M in tm-value (Goretzka and Meyer) and received zilch in return (again...).

:laugh: You should drop down to your knees and praise the Lord every day that you guys managed to sign Klopp. 2 out of those 5 cup losses came against Bayern, 1 against a red hot Wolfsburg team lead by de Bruyne where the BVB had massive problems in Klopp's last season (last in the Bundesliga at the half way point). And one loss against a 2 time defending champ FC Sevilla. If you don't want him, we'd take him back for sure...

I think you said it best, Schalke is not the most talented team in the league and they're losing two important players. Thus game-planning and preparation are so important for your squad. However with UCL duties coming up, this will be extremely difficult. To repeat myself, just look at Hoffenheim last year. In addition to that, Schalke scored 63 points, that's less points than any other 2nd place team scored for over 10 years (didn't bother to check the stats past 06/07). Apart from Bayern, the Bundesliga has been a disaster performance wise and S04 managed to use that to their advantage. I'm not knocking Schalke's performance because of that, I'm just saying that teams like the BVB, Red Bull, Leverkusen and Gladbach have much more room to improve next year. Yes, Fährmann at #16 in the goal-keeper ranking is a bad joke...

@testuser1 3 things: I think the players you mentioned from Schalke are solid Bundesliga players, but nothing more. You could do the same list with Red Bull Leipzig or Gladbach, for instance. You mentioned the kicker-grades for Naldo and Salif Sane, however you declined the importance of Meyer who finished the season as the best Schalke midfielder according to that ranking. Look at Hoffenheim's performance in the Bundesliga when they were still playing Europa League and once they were eliminated. When Schalke has to play twice a week, Tedesco won't have enough practice time to prepare his squad as well as he did last year. Kicker-grades are funny to look at but to be taken with a big grain of salt. Personally, I think the writers from kicker like to get high on their own supply a little too much for my taste. According to them, Bürki and Götze have been the best BVB players in 17/18. :laugh: According to them, Robert Lewandowski (2.73) and Serge Gnabry (2.75) almost had the same level of performance last year. :laugh:

Leon Bailey had 14 great games between matchday 6 against the HSV and matchday 20 against Mainz. Over the last 13 games in the Bundesliga, not only his kicker grades went down the drain he also only scored 1 goal and 1 assist over that time period. Schalke (and Hoffenheim) will get problems due to playing UCL and losing important players without getting anything in return (Goretzka/Meyer). I also wanted Favre for us last year and hopefully he'll make the BVB great again. Maybe with Balotelli? I want to see celebrations like this again:

These imdb scores are not perfect, however they give you a pretty good indication of the level of quality you should expect. For "serious" TV shows with a continuous story, anything below 7 is absolutely dreadful, anything between 7 and 8 is borderline watchable if you have nothing else to do, from 8 and up you'll usually get great entertainment. To get a 3.5 rating, the show must be low-budget with soap opera level story-telling and porn level acting. 🤣

IMDB has this show at 3.5/10. I think I'll take a hard pass. For those of you who like the Western genre, I'm currently watching Hell on Wheels! You won't be disappointed.
