Another victory playing Omaha, of course! What's actually interesting is how I usually have pretty good results if I reach the money and I'm not totally card dead:

When showing up on time, I played these 7,5 $ Hyper-Turbos 18 times. I finished 5 times ITM. I won them twice and finished top-4/5 another time with 2 min-cashes.

I think it is almost always good choice to make a HU deal, if you think at the moment you don't have much edge over your opponent. And it reduces variance a lot. Also headsup icm and chip chop deals are same. I don't actually know what kind of deals pokerstars or other sites offer, haven't done much deals, but if there are 3 or more players left u should be more careful especially if there are two deal options

And I made a deal again, I was ahead 33-19 BBs in the HU and went for the ICM split. The regular prize money for 1st place was 87 $. I like this deal as well, as you know anything can happen in a HU, especially in Omaha.

The most memorable hand from the final table was me limping from the button with :Ks::Kc::10s:X with 12 BBs left. My passive opponents in the blinds called and checked.

:As: on the flop. There's not much to gain here...Check, check, check.

:6s: on the turn. Well, well, well...Check, check, check.

:8s: on the river for the nuts. Great, probably played this too passively, but OK a win is a win. 5 BB bet from me. Bet, call, call.

    Plotting A Different World GIF

Small Blind had :Qs::2s:, BB had :Js::3s:.

After reading again, the 5 BB bet on the river was correct, but is that even possible with 3 limpers? Did I raise from the button? Anyway, that was enough for the chip lead.

I was playing around with Omaha Equilab and I think the mistake I made in PKO tournaments was being way to passive in the beginning. I mean, a suited ace alone should be enough to call an all-in if you can get an early bounty. That's total gambling madness, but it also explains how some players play so terribly in the non-PKO games. 😀

Maybe I add a 3 $ PKO bounty to my schedule to test out this theory.

  2. @jerry

    The Polizei came out quickly...:classic_biggrin:

But that was a relegation battle for the ages. Bochum kicking out their #1 goalie Riemann before the end of the season. Losing at home 0-3. Then winning on the road 3-0. Then winning with the 7th penalty taker.

Poor Nippon bro who missed the shot. What's funny is that Düsseldorf has the largest community of Japanese people in Germany.

    Guirassy has an opt-out clause for 18 M, @jerry.

Gotta love these artificial systems that they have created to make league more "interesting" 🤮

Honestly, for lower leagues or small countries, these artificial systems make sense. Is it really so much better for Veikkausliiga to play each other 3 times? What's stupid is when 2nd division teams all of a sudden are allowed to play Eurocup playoffs, like they had in Congo Morocco Belgium a few years ago.

Double for Leverkusen, nationally unbeaten. Totally deserved, however you could see them losing steam towards the end of the season, which is totally understandable, of course. Hopefully this team stays together, then we could see something like BVB 2010-2013 here. Heidenheim, of all teams, is playing Conference League next season. At least...

Gotta say for 18M he would be awesome steal but would be surprised if price don't get over 25M which would drop stingy BVB out of race.

You don't know how an opt-out clause works? :classic_biggrin:

Question is what Guirassy wants as signing fee. But as I mentioned earlier, the BVB took in almost 140 M Euro during this UCL season. They qualified for next year's UCL and the Club WC in 2025. However the Club WC and the Africa Cup are both scheduled for June/July 2025.

If we can get rid of Haller and Mouki, this should even net us some extra money.

    The horror! :classic_biggrin:

Obviously, my plan is to move up in stakes once the bankroll is there. Sure, the Courchevel MTTs are fun, but they are a niche tournament even at PS, so there's no point being stuck there. Short term, getting to the 11 and 16 $ games would be nice as I'm currently having trouble generating turnover, especially if I ignore all the PKOs for now.

Non PKO Omaha MTTs so far:

    • 5,5, 7,5 and 11 $: 8/34 ITM, 23,5 %. 3 wins.
    • 2,2 and lower (almost all Courchevel): 10/42 ITM, 23,8 %. 3 wins.

Sample size is very small but I like the consistency so far. The numbers look even better when I show up on time.

After the last post, I played the Sunday Million with one of my tikiets and cashed for a little better than the min cash.

That meant, playing the 2 Euro Courchevel, albeit I really liked them, wasn't an option anymore as I had to move up in stakes. Currently I'm playing 5,5 and 7,5 $ Omaha MTTs at the competition.

As you can see, I made a deal in this tournament. 71 entires for 93,43 $ in contrast to 65 entries for 99 $ in early May. I would really like to hear your opinion about making deals:

So, this tournament went on and on and on. 4,5 hours in total with the final table alone lasting probably 2 hours. Problem was I had an appointment and slowly but surely I started to run out of time, yet the same 7 players kept playing and playing...

Finally we reach the HU phase and the BB ratio was probably 35:30 in my favour.

    Tired Baby GIF

My opponent was offering a deal, so I agreed for an ICM deal, giving me a little more $$$ than him. Right choice? Dumb move? I simply didn't feel like battling out a HU while checking the clock all the time after 4,5 hours of playing. I think I like the deal.

The rest was summer football poker to finish the game.

Wasn't that what happened with Schalke? They had success and money until some meat master screwed everything up with multiple brain farts

    image.thumb.png.1e5afed57415e383909440b988586795.png

    Well, well, well....

The funny stuff is that the Smurfs even had a top notch youth academy for a while (Neuer, Draxler, (Özil), Sane, Kolasinac, Matip, Thiaw, McKennie and many more), but they had so much money coming in, that they totally disregarded that aspect. :classic_biggrin:

Then they were relegated, their meat master said that we should build power plants in Africa, so Africans wouldn't make so many babies, then the meat master's meat factory caused so many corona infections that a whole county was put in lockdown and finally the gas rubels stopped rolling in.

I think Bayern is far away from that, however picking up the coach of Burnley as your 6th or 7th choice brings the LOLs.

They made the bed and now must lie in it. Not that tempting job when management hasn't showed any support to their recent managers.

That's right, however your statement refered to the market of available options, which is actually quite strong right now. OK, maybe not strong, but let's call it robust! The funny thing is that Tommy is now being linked to Chelsea again! :classic_biggrin:

Today, Leverkusen, the best team in Europe, is taking on the liquidator of Lidlpool, the almighty Atalanta Bergamo. I'm expecting something like 3-0 or 3-1 for Bayer. :classic_biggrin:

Bayern getting really desperate. I said couple of months ago that interesting to see who will end up loser when so many top teams were after new manager with limited options. I think we have "winner"

That's a pretty stubbid take on the situation as coaches like Potter, Poch, Tommy T, Herr Flick, Mourinho, de Zebra etc are all on the market. Ten "cm" Hag might be next. The problem with Bayern is the sheer incompetence that's being displayed and they're now running out of time and candidates.

One example, last week, Bayern's sporting director tried to persuade Tuchel to stay. However Tuchel already signed his goodbye package guaranteeing his salary for the next year, no matter what. So the SD verbally offered 3 years, yet when the paperwork arrived, it was a one year deal.

I don't believe Kompany will join Bayern. 5 wins after 110 M Euro spent is a little low.

But if we look Pep's stats, amazing. There has been lot of managers trying to make it with Bayern or Barca but got nowhere near.

Barca: Prime Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and prime ref vs Chelsea in 2009.

Bayern: Took over the triple winner in 2013, whose biggest rival had their best players being poached by Bayern. Herr Flick won more with Bayern than Fraudiola...

Shitty: Arab sugar daddies and 115 cases of fraud. Net spent over 800 M Euro in transfer fees alone under his watch. Excluding salaries, boni and under the table payments.

But it's OK, will be funny what happens when/if Shitty gets punished. Either way it will taint the EPL.
