Falling down the leaderboards due to a terrible Wednesday grind and missing poker to see the mighty Wolves brush aside Torino and qualify for Europe last night! However, today has started well with a mad run of winning 8 of 10 hexa5's and making €110 profit in the process. I hope it continues onto the bounty grind! Let's go!

Decent first day of it. Finished the night with 3rd in the Dwarf star and leaderboard positions returning about €71 as it stands. Not top of my game today and a tad disappointed I didn't close out a few things. But nethertheless it's a good start and it's so much harder when anyone with just a chip more than you is willing to call allin's on 8 3.

Im back, hardly refreshed, hating work and as such I turn my attentions to poker. So I'll do a profit update instead and then get on this bounty grind. Did I break the 3k margin finally? Well had to stop prematurely on Sunday due to a succession of bad beats. Felt it was better to cut the losses. So I’ve gone on holiday to relax and prepare for a September grinding starting with the bounty badlands leaderboards.

A weekly plo ‘main event’ with qualifier path. (Current sat path already fine) Doesn’t have to be high buyin but I miss the €25 entry Omaha weekly event that used to on Unibet. Big guarantee on a Sunday that has a start flight every day of the week of a low buyin (€10?) You can enter multiple flights if you don’t get through each day to carry chips forward to Sunday day 2. (Might need a day 3 haha). edit - I look forward to this new high roller sounds good!

Certainly an interesting discussion point regarding the reasons for quitting. Absolutely think it’s the right thing to do to quit if you lose more than you’re comforable losing in a session. It will only ever end bad if you don’t. But when do we stop when we are winning? I contemplate this as I drink my peach Melba flavoured ale. I myself am guilty of quitting when I’m ahead to protect profit. But I’m in a great frame of mind and playing well why would I quit? But the temptation to quit and tell everyone I had a really good night is so strong. Even if it meant missing out on a tournament I thought I had a great chance of doing well in. Played disastrous on the Supernova nano final table. I’m so bad. Over €100 overlay in that. Strange that it doesn’t get anywhere near guarantee. Other than that had a few decent cashes. Small profit today. Annoyed to go out Exoplanet in the money QQ to Q10 but ok whatever we go again tomorrow.

Bit of bad run since the nova. Only to be expected I guess. It's challenging switching your mind to be able to deal with say €20 losses over a day playing in €1/2 tournaments to dealing with €100 losses playing €5/10. It's all relevant to bankroll but naturally induces more panic. Will do a stat update later today so I can record the lovely looking profit increase before I manage to give it all back :haha:

Thanks @MadAdo Years ago I had the roll and backing to play anything upto 220 with the occasional 500 live event thrown in. But these days with a family to look after, full time work, and without backing, I play at a much lower level. Still, my usual stakes would be around €25 buyin but this year especially I've just been working harder at the day job and withdrawing bankroll for life luxeries. My aim is now to get back up to that €25 mark by the end of the year and hopefully continue to build from there.

A player sitting out causes an ICM nightmare which leaves me too vulnerable to compete and I finally succumb AJ to J5. Luckboxes. It's 2.30am and I am congratulating myself on a masterclass of shortstack and disciplined play - even if its only this idiot that thinks so. Satisfied, I lay my head down to sleep knowing my bankroll now allows me to step up that bit more after spending the year using poker for extra life funds. Thanks to @Brocky for the great rail. Ok break time... things gone ok. final table the moonwalk and just... wow... I was picking up chips left right and center until taking a confidence knock QQ to A9 and then the invincibles appeared. 2 in particular. I mean, I’m thankful that there are players like this still in abundance that are happy to call flop bets with no hand, no draw, no plan and call raises out of position with 9 4, 10 5 and K 3 but damn does it leave such a sour taste in the mouth to stack off to them. AK to K3 in this case as I called river allin board Jx3Kx. Should of folded, meh. Problem with me is, I will stack off more often to them than I should out of pure ego. A leak in my mental game.

Pretty hectic homelife has prevented much play so far this week... until today. LETS GET THAT €€€€!!
