Breaking Even

Definitely feeling sharper, still making lots of mistakes though.

Played the €25 bountys on sunday and shipped the Battleground for €850.

Ran hot on the FT and won every all-in to HU where I had a decent battle with a guy who coolered me down to 15bbs but I battled back and picked him off a few times to get 2:1 and then coolered him back FTW.

EZ game

Gonna try and get more volume in so the blog will be a bit more interesting.

Everyone is bad at PLO mtts.

Here's an example from a 15k PLO FT that Alex Foxen blunders and the commentators completely ignore it "because ICM".

4 people left, payouts: 1 - $348,600 2 - $224,100 3 - $161,850 4 - $118,275

Hand starts @ 3:02:20

Duek opens 3559 badugi in CO to 2.5BB with 45BB. A trash open with no A or K to block 3bet ranges and very bad equity. He chooses to open it in this config "because ICM" I would go out on a limb and say he is basically opening 95% if he is opening this.

12BB and 10 BB shorties fold and Foxen has AAQ4ss suited to the A with 35bbs.

He elects to flat "because ICM" Which the non-pro commentator immediately starts talking about whilst JNandez stays quiet and lets the blunder happen. Definitely the meta for most of the crushers who commentate.

Playing this hand passively is fine but what about if you actually think you're good. What about if you actually think you're a favourite HU vs all of them? How about we put some ICM pressure back on the bad CL with the preflop nuts?

Lots of good things happen, he folds pre and now you are basically tied for 1st.

He calls and you arrive at a flop with AA and an SPR of ~1.5. Not so bad. You're still in 2nd if you have to x/f the flop

Instead, he plays passively and gets bluffed off on the river after calling 2 streets. Eventually laddering to a 2nd place finish whilst Duek spews it off (standard) and finishes 3rd.

This preflop mistake is worth 5 figures. Imagine getting to play 4 handed vs this caliber of opponent and still noticing these types of blunders. It's a fucking gold mine.

Checked it myself on GTOwiz, it likes opening it ~37% of the time. I don't think GTOwiz are the best ranges to use though, for example it wants to call off with T9s if you minraised it.

The ranges I use it is a pure limp.

Nevertheless, I guess I was wrong in my previous statement "I know it isn't a raise" so thanks.

That being said, I don't think GTOwiz uses the most profitable GTO matrix since noone is calling off with T9s, JTs, A7o etc. so if you aren't calling off with those hands then mixing raise with all of these hands + overfolding to shoves will just get you farmed.

Havent seen the total ranges there, what do you mean by calling off T9s JTs? , you mean jamming them pre?

HU is pretty complex stuff, from time to time I look over the stuff again and revisit, but its something I need to get much more into cuz its sometimes pretty frustrating. Its pretty crazy how different it all really is.

Would be interesting to see post-flop stuff from Wiz. Imo always a benefit no matter what.

Put in a lot of volume at lowstakes PLO this week and ran awful, booked a small win overall + the rakeback which is nice.

Should have won more but tilted off ~ €100 in some spots that I wouldn't have played the same if I wasn't running bad. Like this river spot vs a random who is taking the classic recreational "I have the nuts" line and I still jammed river. Not having the J to block 2nd set would have made it a lot more reasonable, theoretically it's obv fine but this is exploit city.

"SunGlasses4" is the player of the week though, he's mastered the min 3b with napkins /call 4b and flop the nuts

No PLO games running so had to turn my attention to the lowstakes hexapro streets.

9 tabling and found myself sitting out on a table in the heat of it.

It's crazy how I used to be able to play 24+ and surf the net at the same time, now I can't play 9.

BOOMER confirmed

1/1 so far
