  1.       So I decided to get off to a flyer, sat at my computer keen and eager to get cracking on the first mission. A notification pops up bang on midnight.

A slight technical hitch followed, no missions to be found, but the problem was soon solved by the old favourite of logging out and back in again.

I bought a €20 cash ticket from the bonus shop, I'm sure I'll be using it again before long and those points were kept back for this purpose.

Three tables, 29 minutes, 132 hands, 30 flops seen, 69 cents won, mission accomplished and the first fruits bagged.

Good Luck all.  Nightcap time. 🥃

  2. Thanks @HardGain

The tracking of sessions and using a ticket is basically to keep me honest. It's too easy to "forget" to record a bad session but when the ticket's done the figures have to tally. I don't know if you spotted but the first few sessions were all 1 tabling, fine when things are going well but sheer boredom ( being dealt hand after hand of "unplayable" trash) leads to some loose play, an ill judged bluff, a loss,  a determination to recover losses, and the downward spiral begins. I've noticed this in the past and as here, the next few sessions playing 3-4 tables keeps me involved and not tempted to get too loose out of frustration. If I get involved in hands at two tables I can easily sit out at the other two and not get distracted. I wanted to finish the ticket today, (not got any prize drops) to concentrate on the missions, a few hundred hands or an hour or two a day is plenty for me.  And following what you said in discord, the tracking and pretty pictures is some sort of reward and can help motivation. 🥃

  3. Having not bet on the horses for some time I took it up again fairly recently and met with some slight success.

My betting record as far back as the system will allow.

    image.png.7547378f2a7a7dbd63346f144674c4ab.png

Not overly impressive, probably about a normal win/loss rate.

Since I started betting again very recently,

    image.png.d590fa0000142fda764a186b094f3f21.png

    Again not particularly impressive.

    However...

I don't think Unibet are running scared that I'm going to cripple them financially, I rather suspect as seems common these days that my account is just too small to be bothered with. To be fair I could continue but it became apparent quite some time ago that Unibet were becoming very tight with their prices. They stopped appearing on the price comparison pages of the Racing Post, mainly I'm guessing because, even to me, a small stakes fun punter, you could very rarely if ever get the best price on a horse at Unibet. I stuck with them, maybe out of a sense of loyalty, but will do so no longer, there are better and juicier offers elsewhere until I once again am deemed too small and insignificant to be bothered with or, far less likely, am winning too much money.

Au Revoir Unibet (at least on the punting front)

A sad small stakes punter. 😥

  4. Just to update the above I played for an hour, got dealt 103 hands, actually only saw 8 flops ( I was being dealt an enormous amount of trash, 🥴) went to showdown twice, 😱 and made money. I'm not sure it was much of a party though. 🥱

Quickly on the stakes for prize drop. Seb was originally planning to have it as mentioned in the terms (it's how its historically always been), but I pushed for changing it to what we ended up with. So now you know who to blame 😉

Quickly on why I suggested this change: I ultimately believe it's the most fair for the player base as a whole. The NL4 rake is so low (and games softer), and with three different tiers, compromises had to be made at higher stakes, if NL4 was to be included. At the end of the day, I felt it was best to focus on the higher stakes and leave out NL4.
Another key point is the fact that NL4 players get much better rakeback from promotions like missions, relative to the rake paid. Some promotions favor NL4 (despite the lowest rake) and some don't.

I can understand the reasoning behind what you're saying but just because someone gets a good deal somewhere else and has partied all year, it still feels, imo, a bit mean to exclude them from the biggest party yet. The only other point I'd make is that the €10 levels, during promos like this, feel as though they're full of nits ( the €4 recs) basically waiting around for a prize drop. Currently 59 at €4 and 111 at €10. I'm sure the €10 regs can handle the newcomers but enticing some of them to put money in the pot  can feel like trying to get blood out of a stone. Is it even worth it for them I ask myself. An hour sat there, maybe 120 hands, 20 circuits of the table, 30BB or €3 for a prize drop, if it even lands, of €2. Maybe they're so determined to join the party and get something for nothing they don't see it's probably not worth it. 🤔

Wasnt really counting at drop prizes but on the influx of new players at those stakes which promo like that always brings. Normal, yearly promo i would agree not to include those damn freeloaders from nl4 but 10th anniversary? I mean those are still part of of the Unibet, maybe not respected part but still :classic_biggrin:

To be fair I agree that for such a significant birthday/anniversary I would have thought including everybody would be the way to go, but...

Exactly how are they freeloading? Don't they pay rake like the rest, or lose money and let some players climb stakes? Should we get rid of the lowest level at €4 to get rid of the "freeloaders?" Doesn't that mean the new lowest level of €10 becomes the "freeloader" level which then has to go, and so on and so on.

You might not respect how they play, but really? A bit strong I think.

Disclaimer: My majority of play is at €4 but for promos like these I do play higher.

  7. Hi @Paul93

Unfortunately you, like many others, have missed the t&c's whereby some races offer extra places or enhanced odds for 1 or more runners. These are denoted with the box or B for certain races.

    image.thumb.png.d55b05cab820ee964f02fa0f414d21ea.png

These are special offers and these races do not have BOG as well, so you will only be paid at the price taken, in your case, or the SP if not taking a price. 😱

  8. Hi @hustler122

There are 5 phase 1 tourneys per day, you may enter any or all of them and by surviving 19 levels reach Phase 2, played on 17 March at 18:00 UK time, where you will automatically be in the money and playing for big payouts. BUT you only carry through your highest chip amount from phase 1 no matter how many times you qualify from them. Some players might play 1 phase 1, survive and be happy to reach the money, some will play more in an attempt to carry through a bigger stack to try to be higher in the payout table and win more money or even the tourney itself. The choice rests with the individual.

    image.thumb.png.b0e352db14f47cdf67074f9898374584.png

I've been playing the €1 qualifiers this week and have 3 x €10 phase 1 tickets (thin , very thin, brag 😬) locked and loaded, so will probably play the first three Phase 1 today, see how they go, and take it from there.

    Good Luck. 🍀

I see this a lot and we can't do it so sometnig is verry wrong.

You can do it if you try, anyone can, but only up to, I think, 5 times in any one day, and persistent attempts can lead to warnings then further sanctions.

Or Unibet focused not on missions, but on cleaning the poker ecology from parasites, it will be even more useful for everyone 🥰

Not quite sure what you mean there unless you're referring to the fact that some players were getting 1,000% rakeback on the missions at the end of last year, and they have become harder and costlier to complete.

Valentine's are not my cup of tea. 50x Hexa pros (not even 0.2€) and a red belt I never ever achieved for an entry into a freeroll it's not so easy (also BR managements wise) for me, let's say.

In the past Valentine's mission were be dealt Queen of Hearts x number of times, a pretty basic, easy and cheap mission, now having to play at least 50 games of Hexa and who knows how long at Banzai adding to the point above. I'm not playing them. Obviously we can see UB can't just throw money at players but I feel they may have gone slightly too far in the other direction. However, Disclaimer: I stopped playing missions a long time ago, very little skill required in most of them, basically just sitting around waiting for X to happen X number of times, in games I don't really want to play, to win 🎟️🎫 for games I don't really want to play. Andy referred to the skill factor in Discord, too much being required would rule out too many players. I did enjoy doing (some) of the Xmas missions, but I'm also not chasing the number of flops to gain Banzai flips, I'm determined to only play what I want when I want. I'm hoping for a bit more variety in the anniversary missions and will attempt them, some pretty cool looking avatars on offer.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to play missions.

    Good Luck. 🍀

  11. Great keeping the winnings going while you've been having problems, hope they sort it for you soon.

Meanwhile, "Rush" "Zoom" whatever, I agree, I see the regs as being nittier but the recs still making rec moves. Being able to colour code or make notes on them seems to make it much easier, a simple red orange green system works for me. Red raises utg I fold, orange raises from mp I think about it, green shoves 20 bb from the button I call (mostly.) It seems to work without a lot of thinking time. 🤔

    And stop slacking. 🥴

  12. Hi @DORYNEL7

There are no monthly missions this time as Unibet are building up to their 10 year anniversary celebrations. There is however a Valentine mission to win tickets to a free roll, then there will be daily Anniversary Missions starting Feb 26th. Good Luck. 🍀

  13. Hi @Ezhin and welcome to the community.

I don't think horse racing bets count as sports bets. As you will see on the Unibet main page there are two separate sections for sports betting and horse racing and bets made on horse racing do not show under my bets in the sports section, so I think you'll have to use your bonus on sports betting. Good Luck. 🍀

  14.    This seems a strange one to me but not having seen the race I'm not sure what happened. If the horse was deemed a runner, "under starters orders" then you do not get your money back, if declared a non runner then you do. The result merely says UR, unseated rider at the post. When "starters orders" becomes official is  virtually impossible to research (10 minutes googling.) Neither of you have said what CS have said, I'd be interested if you had another crack at them what the official answer is.

  15. FINAL FINAL UPDATE

Following yesterday's update there was even more to add. A €50 ticket from the Xmas missions had been regged a fortnight ago for the last big tourney in the Slobberknocker series. I normally would not have played such a tourney but free is free so let's go. It didn't start particularly well and frankly I was getting a bit bored, snooker was on the telly and concentration kept landing but things picked up and eventually it turned into my 2nd best ever tourney result on UB. The details are fairly standard, I don't think I ran particularly well or played brilliantly, most hands were fairly straightforward, but I did do one or two things I might not have a few months ago.

    image.png.b5f123fdfceb4aa1f5d63ff7113c8ff6.png

Anyway, I took €156.25 in bounties and €67.20 for 42/301.

My BR at the start of the day was €120.53, at the end €645.71, with a cash ticket finished, a free Hexa ticket, a free Major ticket,  without a doubt my best spread of results in the Poker Microverse. Now all I have to do is build on that.

🥃 I slept well last night, dreaming of the challenges ahead. 😴

  16. FINAL UPDATE

Well, it's taken a long time but I finally saw a ticket through to the end. Statistically not brilliant reading but I'll trot them out anyway.

    image.png.22080f6a83c079db57a89ba73fecb09d.png         image.png.37b37f8e00255471cd4c51a3bed86463.png

Fifty five sessions of torture, 31,176 hands and €49.58 of pain and pleasure. Only 1 flop per 10.392 hands, and only a paltry 1.58 BB/100, but that's not really the point. I have won on other tickets before but this was different, a sort of now or never last throw.  A big downturn over the Christmas period got me madder and madder, and to be fair once I got stuck in and more determined things swung around. Since the low point, €56.60 down, I played 16,672 hands and made €106.18, a much better rate of 6.36 BB/100. I'll take it anyway and will carry on, a Hexapro boost adding to the upturn.

    image.png.0632f2a04eac9f7c8533dac1246c690c.png

So I can't say I've escaped from the Poker Microverse but I feel I'm becoming a little more competitive down there and will continue for some time yet. I feel a withdrawal is in order, but not wanting to upset the RNG or poker gods I'll leave a healthier balance to carry on with.

A Jack Daniel's or two might be in order. 🥃

  17. I've just noticed

    image.png.b85f8aa5c22885e8220693cab9f6a079.png

the little box by the race indicating enhanced odds or places for that race, a sign that your BOG for that race sadly didn't apply.

I would have thought there should be something on the betting slip that warns when placing a bet on these races that BOG doesn't apply, but not here it seems. 😢

  18. Hi @HoekNL and welcome to the community.

The each way betting on Best Odds Guaranteed produces an anomaly in the payout as the best price part is only paid out on the WIN part of the bet and not the PLACE part. This does indeed produce some slight discrepancies from what is expected and what is actually paid, and has caught out, and probably will continue to do so, a few customers in the past.🥴

I've looked back at the first race you mentioned and it is an 11 runner handicap normally paying 3 places, so I assume this is a boosted place race. In these cases even if you take a BOG you will only be paid at the price you take at the time and not the best odds, just another of those things that are in the t&c's but not easy to actually find. Extra places and boosted odds on one or more runners in a race unfortunately negate the BOG.

I hope this answers your question and good luck in your future betting, but be extra careful when looking at the each way bets. 🍀
