Goody1 Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 I placed £10.00 on Frodon to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup in January at 201/ it now looks like it won't be running in the Gold Cup ,but possibly running in the Ryanair Chase instead. Does that mean I lose my £10.00 stake money or will it go on to the Ryanair Chase ?
RayL Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Hi @Goody1, welcome to the Community. As a general rule, quotations offered in advance of the day of a particular race. Bets so placed are lost if your horse/hound is a non-starter I'm afraid:"f. Ante Post betting1) For a bet to be considered as an Ante Post bet (AP) it is to be placed prior to the overnightdeclaration stage. Usually such declaration is effected 48 hours prior to race start for Flat racingand 24 hours prior to race start for National Hunt racing.2) AP stakes on horses/hounds which are not participating in the race will not be refunded and Tattersalls Rule 4 does not apply, unless specifically stated" /Ray Former Community Moderator
Goody1 Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 Thank you for clearing that up. You just confirmed what I thought.... Hey ho ...just have to back it in the Ryanair Chase instead
RayL Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Thank you for understanding @Goody1 :) Former Community Moderator
Luke129196 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Hi Ray,I’ve just signed up using the ante post bet bonus link offer and Put on £10 but when I go to my bonuses it’s not showing? Are you able to check for me that I have £10 pending free bets for each day of Cheltenham? Thanks
NeilCole22 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Hi im trying to take advantage of the Cheltenham ante-post free bet offer for new customers - basically get a free £10 for everyday of the festival if i place a £10 antepost bet. My question is and this is a noob question but ante-post is this a bet that i can place before the race - how long before the race does an ante-post bet need to be to qualify for the free bets??
GR1ZZL3R Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Hi @nigeng @NeilCole22 @Luke129196 @Goody1 The perils and pitfalls of Ante Post.Ante post bets are usually bets placed on horse racing or dogs more than 24 hours before the race, usually to gain a better price on your selection, but the drawback is that if your selection is a non-runner your bet is lost. :teardrop: In your case @Goody1 your horse is deemed a non-runner as @RayL says, as you've backed it in the Gold cup and it is now running in a different race, and in these cases the bet is not transferred as the markets for two different races will be completely different. Good luck in the world's best and most competitive race meeting. "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%."

NeilCole22 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @RayL If i get my free bet every morning starting Tomorrow - the first race at cheltenham is 13:30 will the non-runners be anounced before i get my free bet??So do i need to place my bet on the first race or risk losing the free bet for that day??
RayL Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Hi @NeilCole22,generally speaking if it's a non-runner and you have a free bet placed, the free bet is re instated :) Let us know if this happens though and you don't receive the Free Bet. We can have a closer look. Former Community Moderator
NeilCole22 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @RayL Sorry i meant will i get my free bet tomorrow morning if my bet is a non-runner. if the race is at 13:30 will the non-runners be annouced before the free bet is issued??
GR1ZZL3R Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @NeilCole22 If a bet is placed more than 24 hours before a race and the horse is then declared a non-runner you lose the bet as it is classed as ante -post. If you bet on the day of the race and your horse is declared a non-runner you should get your bet back but as non runners can be declared at any time, even up to the time of the start of the race, you won't know until the race actually starts. If you bet and get a non runner I'm not sure you would get your free bet as you won't actually have had a bet, unless you have another bet. It can get complicated!:scared: "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%."
RayL Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Ah, I get it now @NeilCole22. @GR1ZZL3R , those were my initial thoughts as well and I am yet to receive a concrete answer on that, will update you guys as soon as I do./Ray Former Community Moderator
ns10 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I have just placed a £10 bet on the 13:30 race tomorrow at cheltenham, will this qualify as antepost in line with the £10 free bet per day??
RayL Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @ns10, welcome to the Community :) The bet placed today is perfectly eligible for this promotion. You should start receiving the Free Bets from tomorrow indeed. /Ray Former Community Moderator
NeilCole22 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @RayL @ns10 Yeah this is what im asking .... it says that if the horse is a non-runner i wont get the free bets?? part 2 of the criteria you sent me???
GR1ZZL3R Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @ns10 wrote: I have just placed a £10 bet on the 13:30 race tomorrow at cheltenham, will this qualify as antepost in line with the £10 free bet per day??Timewise you might just be inside the usual 24 hours for an ante-post bet, you would have to check terms and conditions for your actual bonus. "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%."
NeilCole22 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @ns10the criteria says before 12pm tonight - check the post by @RayL about 2 hrs ago, click the spoiler!
RayL Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 So, @NeilCole22, if the bet placed today is a non runner, you will still receive the Free Bets starting from tomorrow, yes :). This in the case that the initial bet placed today respects the terms and conditions mentioned above,(minimum amount to bet, odds, times etc) which it does. /Ray Former Community Moderator
NeilCole22 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @RayLok great thank you - sorry for all the questions
T3pp3r Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Stuck a 20 quid double on Apples jade and Buveur D’Air to win, both running in the same Race now, will I get refunded and if so when ? Was NRNB when bet was placed too, cheers
RayL Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Absolutely no problem @NeilCole22, We're happy to help wherever we can :) Best to have things clear from start then to have surprises after. /Ray Former Community Moderator
GR1ZZL3R Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @T3pp3r This is a bit more complicated. They woudn't have been in the same race when you made your bet would they, so if one has been taken out of it's original race and put in the same race as the other I think it may be classed as a non runner for the original race, and under normal terms for an ante post bet it would be deemed a loser. However, your bet being a double, normally when a non runner is involved in a double the whole stake becomes a single on the other horse, so your bet may still be "live" "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%."
