Welcome to Day 2

Good morning all and welcome once again to the J.W Marriott Grand Hotel for Day 2 of the Unibet Open Bucharest main event.

114 players remain to battle it out for that top prize, and as 71 players get paid, it won't be long before we are in the money.

Unibet ambassadors Dara O'Kearney and David Lappin have 234,000 and 90,000 chips respectively and will be hoping they can at least make the money here in Bucharest, however their eyes will be firmly set on getting to that final table!566081010_26988574689_c59ebd685f_o(1).thumb.jpg.14df9b61a43ec549336351ce421d7841.jpgUnibet community members Tim Bruneel (@MathrimC) and Vinod Jadav (@pirahn) are also playing today, they have 52,500 and 153,000 respectively. Hopefully they can make the money and push on for a great result here in Bucharest. Good luck guys!

Unibet eSporter Kevin 'Papaplatte' Teller is also in the running today with 130,000. Good luck to him also.

Chip leader from Day 1B and overall chip leader Marian Strachinescu will be hoping he can channel his run good from Day 1B into Day 2 and push on with his 345,000.

Play is about to start here guys, good luck everyone involved, I'll do my best to give a good representation of the tournament today and cover the people you want me to.

Do let me know if you have any requests or feedback as it is always appreciated.

Great start for Vogelsang24895284878_f8c01d9ce0_o.thumb.jpg.3a53700146ea461d2fb6f4e12422b8e2.jpgTom Vogelsang had a very good Day 1B yesterday and has managed to continue that charge with a great start here on Day 2.

Starting with 300,000, he is now up to over 450,000 and is the new tournament chip leader, after his A♠️ A♣️ held against T♠️ T♦️ on a board of 3♥️ 4♥️ 3♦️ 9♠️ 4♦️, after it got all in on the flop.

Vinny takes a hit

Vinod Jadav - or @pirahn as he's known in the Unibet community has taken a hit to his stack early on Day 2 here in Bucharest.36679385801_e568a6f385_o.thumb.jpg.95cac1cbb625d68f59bcc59c396d035f.jpgIt came after he raise the button go 8k with blinds at 1500/3000, and the BB shoved for around 43,000. Vinny eventually called and was ahead with A♠️ 9♥️ against the BB's K♠️ Q♦️

The flop came 9♠️ 7♥️ 4♠️, and after a 6♠️ turn, Vinny looked set to be sending another player to the rail, right up until the K♥️ hit the river and the player in the BB doubled up. Vinny is now down to around 90,000.

Unlucky @pirahn, you can get it back!

Lappin is gone!

24889251898_c1e8d1d222_o.thumb.jpg.82696f4ed62304b63ad950657b0d0313.jpgWe have unfortunately lost Unibet ambassador David Lappin in the first level of Day 2 here in Bucharest.

He would've had high hopes to make the money and hopefully push on and run deep in this event after the starting the day with around 30bbs, but sometimes it's just not meant to be.

David got in his stack with KK against JJ, and the cruelness of a J on the turn must've hurt. A three outer and the Irishman is out.

Unlucky David, really unfortunate way to bust. Maybe next time. Dara O'Kearney is now the last ambassador left in the field, however eSporter Kevin Teller is also still out there hoping to cash.

We lose MathrimC

Unibet communty player Tim Bruneel or @MathrimC as he's known here, has busted on Day 2 of the main event.

After whittling down to under 10bbs in the first couple of levels today, Tim found himself in the BB with only 30,500 and Q♠️ T♥️ which was around 7bbs, and this was enough to shove with over a minimum raise to 8,000 in middle position.

He was up against A♦️ 8♦️ and the board ran out: A♣️ J♣️ 9♦️ 4♥️ 2♣️, and with that he was out.

Unlucky @MathrimC, good game.

The bubble looms

We are down to 74 players here in the main event and 71 of those players will cash. Hand for hand play is imminent, and updates will follow about those who made it, and the unfortunate bubble boy - or bubble girl for that matter.

Meanwhile, first hand back from the first break and Tudor Purice increased his stack signifcantly after picking up AA and rivering a full house against the nut flush. Must be nice first hand back from break!

@MathrimC I'd definitely go for a stop and go in general in this spot (regardless of the flop). Guarantees you to see all 5 cards and generates some fold equity, which you probably don't have if you shove pre. Would not have made a difference in this spot though unfortunately :) Gg man, sucks to go out so close to the bubble but still a great run in your first UO!

We're in the money!

The bubble has burst here in Bucharest, meaning that all 71 remaining players have locked up at least €1880.

The unfortunate bubble boy was Zion Mashiah of Israel, who was knocked out by none other than the Unibet community's very own @pirahn!

Zion got his last 20,000 chips in with A♦️ J♠️, but ran into the Q♥️ Q♠️ of Vinny, and when the board ran out:

T♠️ Q♣️ J♣️ 7♣️ 6♥️, it was official and a sigh of relief washed over the room as everyone still remaining had now cashed the event.

23879735607_57deddc9bc_o.thumb.jpg.5820c433d11dda209e7c5c0e96045237.jpgWell done to everyone left in, but special mention to Unibet community member Vinod Jadav (@pirahn), Unibet ambassador Dara O'Kearney, and Unibet eSporter Kevin 'Papaplatte' Teller for all making the money. You've done great guys, well played!

Everyones eyes will now be fixed on the €90,000 up top, as we continue here on Day 2 in Bucharest.

Papaplatte coolered

Kevin 'Papaplatte' Teller has been knocked out of the main event after a sick cooler developed on the feature table.

Kevin flopped top pair and turned the nut flush draw, but even still he was drawing dead on the flop. His AK beaten by the pre-flop nuts, AA.

Well played though Kevin, a great result! A nice cash and a great effort.

Elsewhere, Tom Vogelsang has continued to crush here on Day 2 in Bucharest. He is the first person to have over 1,000,000 in chips as we have scaled down to the final seven tables.

Doke heads to the payout desk

We have unfortunately lost our final Unibet ambassador at the main event here in Bucharest.

Dara finishes in 55th place and adds yet another cash to his ever growing list. He cashed the high roller and the main event here in Bucharest which is no easy feat. Good game Dara.

Also on the bust list is Unibet community member Vinod Jadav (@pirahn). However, the pair of them managed to ladder up one spot on the payouts, meaning they will both take home €2,105 each. The pair of them cashed for good amounts and have done well to get this far. Well played guys!

Other notable bust outs include Romanian pro Tudor Purice, and Israeli Josef Machiach.

General update

With 49 players remaining, we are getting to a critical stage of the main event here in Bucharest.

24895284878_f8c01d9ce0_o.thumb.jpg.08947354ad541a4a22611963da5b6ccd.jpg

The current payout is €2355, with it going up to €2640 in a couple of spots, and it then goes all the way up to an incredible 90,000 for first place.

Chip leader is Dutchman Tom Vogelsang on 985,000, down just a little from the peak of 1,000,000 which he had before. Average stack is 327,000 so Tom has quite a stack compared to a lot of players.

Israeli Avi Cohen is not far behind on 900,000 and will be looking to take over Vogelsang if given the opportunity, as finishing the day as chip leader will fill whoever it may be with confidence going into tomorrow's final day.

59th and €2105. I was rivered against a short stack early on and no luck with cards today so extremely pleased to get this far. Bucharest is a great venue and fab to catch up with @JeppeL and @MarcoV and other community members. The welcome drinks with blingo night was great fun. Very surprised anyone got up in time to make it to the shooting range organised for community members. Still a community game to look forward to where maybe i can teach em how to deal poker and party at the nightclub. The nightclub is just amazing and its had an upgrade from last year. Maybe we can get one of the ambassadors drunk and onto the huge stage. Bucharest is firm favourite UBO destination

Murariu in need of a double up

We may have lost all of our poker ambassadors in the main event, but that hasn't stopped Unibet Romanian ambassador Dan Murariu from soldiering on here in Bucharest.

He is currently on the feature table and sitting on a stack of around 140,000 which is around 17bbs. He will be hoping for something to happen soon if he is to make a decent charge toward that €90,000 up top.

With over $1,300,000 in live cashes, Dan will be one of the most feared players left in the field, and other players would be wise not to double him up if they can help it.

40 players now remain here in Bucharest, fighting it out for €90,000 up top and of course title of Unibet Open Bucharest champion 2017.
