  1. update time!

After 34 cash sessions since starting on 12/08, these are the results:

    image.thumb.png.9f127eb9ab0f5cfdc91b51c8e093f26d.png

Not bad for playing nanostakes lol

The reason I'm still not on 25nl while rolled for it is because with the kids back in school and all activities they have, I haven't found time to study

and I'm still on preflop 3b ranges .. I now feel like I drilled the button vs blinds (3b) ranges and will be moving on to other preflop 3b spots.

The goal is to reach gto flop strats by half October. For now Im mostly going 33% most of the times and it works pretty well on 10nl but will need to work on frequencies and textures for more corrects sizes.

All in all, pretty pleased of the journey so far, the real gain is that I got these results while logging minimal hours, my sessions are mostly in the evening after the kids are in bed and last max 2 hours vs 7 hour mtt sessions 😍

    glgl on the tables!

Nice graph so far! Good luck on the conversion.

I presume you play as uaintgotit in the qualifier mtts, I've seen you many many times.

There always seems to be an ongoing debate about which form is harder, I've always assumed cash was easier (though I struggle anyway).

yup I have battled under that nickname since 2020 and played basically all quali's and mtt's up to 50eu.

When I say that cashgames are harder, I mean because I feel in mtt's a lot of decisions are easier because of  shallow stacks,

and lategame because of icm, the room to play many postflops cuts down drastically.

Also when I started playing mtt's, I had phenomenal results overnight, just from my cash background and being used to play postflop more.

But both poker formats are hard to master and the level of play increases a lot every year.

GTO still isn't a big thing def not on the lower stakes. Good to learn the charts as you need to know preflop ranges. Good luck on the cash game tables!

thx, yeah I know GTO is not a thing in stakes where majority of pool is clueless, but I'm aiming for way higher stakes ( 100 to 400nl) and working on the fundamentals for a way more solid game.

For now I try to play  strict gto ranges pre- and play mostly exploitative postflop based on player or pool tendencies but understand I will be put to the test as I move up and play versus better regs. Will give myself time to get there slowly as  learning GTO is quite challenging. Just spent 2 learning sessions drilling different co range vs btn and blinds 3bets 🤔

I haven't seen anyone from MTT go to cash for a long time, mostly the other way around. Interesting.
    Good luck!

yeah I also think cash is harder that mtt's so I can see why this would be the case. I do enjoy the freedom to play sessions when I want and also the ability to play smaller sessions :-)

will see what the future holds, I can always go back to mtt's if the passion come back and after Gto wizard work

  5. AND the beginning of a new one:

As stated in my previous post, the passion for mtt's has been lost for now BUT I do still love the game of poker so I decided to go

back to where it once started... CASHGAMES!!

I decided 2 weeks ago to transition again into cashgame and treat it like a totally new format for me since I haven't properly played cashgames

for many many years now. Got the passion back and started studying the gto preflop charts again with gto wizard. Back when I used to play cash, gto wasn't a thing so

it really is a brand new world opening for me, with many preflop 3b and 4b ranges that still feel unnatural to me but will become second nature in a few weeks/months.

Pairing with the studying of charts, I also started dipping my toes in the 10nl waters and found a very welcoming committee rooting for me 😁

    Results so far:

    image001.thumb.png.ecd9336758d61925325ca2cc74895196.png

it's only the beginning and sample size is still pretty small to start making hasty conclusion, but I like what I'm seeing so far.

It looks like with better preflop hand selection and my current postflop ability, I manage to extract a lot of value from the 10nl pool.

My goal is to keep improving my preflop en flop game during the next weeks, and moving up to 25nl once I feel totally confident about my preflop game.

also, I will try to update this "new" poker journey more often lol

  6. END of an era:

    hey all,

looks like the next update never came :classic_blush::classic_wacko:

Anyway, long story short, I have still been grinding mtt's during 2022 and 2023.

Since UB changed the mtt schedule, there seem to not be that many shortcuts for regs ( meaning the many R/A mtt's ub used to run) and the variance went up a lot as most mtt's with big gtd's now run with at least 100 players and that number can go up to 170 players during prime pokerdays and holidays.

Results have been okayish but not great, shipping only a few K's in 2022 and maybe 3k profit for the first 8 months of this month.

    Reasons u ask?:

    - more variance as the fields went bigger

    - no more R/A's mtt's advantaging the regs + new daily 25 and 50eur pko's with HUGE variance and super topheavy

    - I feel like the new mtt schedule with bigger gtd's attracts some better regs

    - Lack of poker study on my end meaning many mistakes and not playing aggressively enough

    - Also, when I started playing mtt's back in 2020 coming from a cash background, I fell in love with the poker format and was really motivated to play as much as I could.

This passion has faded after playing pretty much non-stop for 3years and half.

Now don't get me wrong, I still enjoy playing mtt's and despite the lack of studying, I still consider myself to be in the better half of the mtt pool on unibet, but dedicating 7 hours every day for so long got me pretty burned out.

my results since the introduction of the gamelab in summer  2021 I believe:

    image.png.bf0cef96433c586c68ddf3b96d890e64.png

So yeah, obviously a winning reg at unibet but with less of an edge in the new schedule and lack of passion to once again hit the mtt  studygrind and put in the hours 😢

For the ones playing mtt's, u won't see my screenname often in mtt's, unless when I feel nostalogic from time to time or taking at shot at the supermoon for the 1 time 😁

    What's going on?
    Tournaments are not working

    When will it be resolved?
I don't have an estimate on when it'll be fixed. Cash games will work just now but all tournament formats (SNG/Hex/MTT) will not start until the issue is resolved.

thx, can u update in here when issues are resolved?

  9. Hey team,

  10. hey guys, thx for taking the time to look into this.

From all the given replys, I feel like there was no answer given to the question: what is the ratio for allowing loyalty bonusses for casino players ? ( so points/cash, whatever.. based on play or even leaderboards (!!) I see pop up every now and then)

Once a clear answer to this question is given: why can't the same ratio be used for poker as the legislation is the same for casino and poker?

Also can't u just contact the Belgian gambling commission with proposals regarding to poker? As to have something preapproved and compliant before launching it?

I have seen Belgian only mtt's in the past, like during world cup, with huge overlays and basically giving away tickets. why can't this be done more regularly?

  11. @Stubbe-Unibet

    hey team,

I just received an email telling me I get a cashback based on my casino action from the past week..

0.06eur for every point I earned with a maximum of 5000 points or 300eur ( One point is earned for every €12 played in the Casino and/or Live Casino)

So my question, how is it possible that casino players in Belgium receive cashback based on their play and poker players

are excluded from all promotions?? Isn't it the same logic? get value back for spending cash in Unibet products..

Can u please look into this and see if poker players can finally enjoy something back for all the rake they pay?

    thx in advance!

They were still there, just in an odd order. There was a lot of manual work done by the old tournament director to get qualifiers in the client on target day that I'll be trying to automate for next months tournament so there are extras and a consistent path so you can go through the tiers same day.

ok hopefully that will be better next time, yesterday's quali's were indeed weird

Not at the moment, no. And don't think mystery bounty works with our field sizes, if we're talking traditional mystery bounty format. We're discussing some alternatives and might see something launched next year 🙂

    ok cool

another question: howcome u can make an halloween mtt for Belgians only with huge overlay but can't let us participate in other community actions? or can't u do more such actions for Belgians ?
