Two-time Unibet Open champion Mateusz Moolhuizen has re-entered the European Open after having no luck with his first bullet.

Moolhuizen, who claimed victory at the 2011 Unibet Open Malta & 2015 Unibet Open Antwerp for a combined earnings of € 188,000, is now seated with ambassador Daiva Byrne and the well-known Simon Deadman.

Level 9 is underway.

The 144 players still with European Open stacks have gone on their hour dinner break, which means late registration will end at 7:45pm and play will then conclude when 15% of the field remains.

We would like to know who you are railing here in Las Vegas!?

Get your shoutouts into us!

I had a quick catch up with @FeelsBadMan on the break and he is loving his Vegas experience so far.

He is currently sitting with 15k, slightly below starting stack,  and has had a swingy afternoon, finding himself as low as 7k at one point before patiently grinding back up.

When I asked him about how his table has been he responded "Fun!" and pointed out one particular player who has been more than happy to 'straddle' before seeing his cards. Not something you see much in tournament poker but it seemed to have made for a good atmosphere at the table.

With such a great structure here at the Wynn he will have plenty of time and opportunity to pick his spots and build a stack for Sunday's Day 2.

Day 1a registration has closed with a total of 259 entries.

As level 11 draws to an end 103 players remain and 39 will make Day 2.

Espen Jorstad and Adrian @FeelsBadMan Nica will not be one of those players having unfortunately departed.

Adrian moved all-in over the top of an early position limp as was slightly ahead with pocket sevens versus 10 9 off suit.

But his opponent hit a much needed over card to take the lead and Adrian could not catch up by the river.

A fantastic effort by the UK Tour Nottingham runner-up. We look forward to seeing him at future Unibet events.

Stacks from around the room include Glasgow winner Andrew MacKenzie (36k), Daiva Byrne (45k) and Dara O'Kearney (20k).

Andrew MacKenzie is still going strong as play enters level 12.

After winning the Glasgow leg of the UK Tour and booking his seat to Vegas, he continued to cash in his local Edinburgh tournaments and seems to have continued in his good run of form at the Wynn.

Andrew opened the action the HJ, raising to 2.7k with blinds at 600/1,200/200 ante. He was immediately 3bet by the CO to 6.7k and called after the rest of the table folded.

He checked the A :Spades: 3 :Diamonds: 4 :Clubs: flop and faced a cbet of 5.4k.

Andrew wasted no time in announcing all-in and confidently moved his near to 50k stack into the middle.

His opponent did not look pleased but folded without much thought, leaving Andrew to take down a significant pot.

Level 13 is just five minutes away with 88 players remaining.

As the players went on a short break I was able to catch up with Andrew MacKenzie.

His rise to 88k as play enters level 13 has not been easy.

Early on in level one, his 20k stack dwindled down to just 7k but his determination and pure aggression at the table has paid off.

Despite pocket eights being his highest holding of the day, he is now sitting well above average on 55bbs. He has been able to use his table reads well and it's paid off in the big pots he has been involved in.

This is Andrew's second trip to Las Vegas in the last 3 months, after deciding to celebrate his Unibet UK Tour win with a stay during July's WSOP. He was able to play several side events during his holiday and was extremely unlucky to bubble a seat into the WSOP Main Event!

I will be sure to follow Andrew's progress as Day 1a begins to enter its final stages.

Unibet's Daiva Byrne has just been all-in in consecutive hands, getting one fold and a full double!

In the first hand, with blinds at 1k/2k/300 ante she 3bet all-in for 27,800 from the BB after an MP open and took down the pot.

The very next hand she was put in a dream position.

The player who had folded to her shove in the previous hand opened to 4.6k and was 3bet by the player on his direct left to 13k.

Daiva looked down at her hand from the SB and after a small amount of thinking time, she announced all-in for 34.6k.

The original opener folded but the 3better made the call turning over 10 ♠️ 10 ♣️

Daiva has in great shape with K ♥️♦️

The board came A ♦️♠️♠️♦️♦️ and Daiva is now sitting on a stack over 80k.

Just 67 players remain.

With just 57 players remaining we have lost ambassador Dara O'Kearney.

Dara has been playing a short stack for some time and seemingly unable to find an all-in spot.

With just 5k left and blinds at 1k/2k/300 ante, he shoved from UTG+1 and was inevitably called by the BB when folded round to him.

The BB showed a mediocre hand in 8 ♠️♣️ and Dara tabled pocket sixes.

The Ace 2 Ace 2 flop and turn was fine for Dara but he was rivered by the 8.

Dara still has the chance to play tomorrow's Day 1b and qualify for Sunday's Day 2.

Day 1a play has now surpassed 12 hours including breaks and it's very near to its conclusion.

With just 48 of the 259 entries remaining, the 100 black chips are being raced off whilst the players take 10 minutes break to prepare for the final stretch and qualification to Day 2.

Still in the field and boasting healthy stacks are last remaining ambassador Daiva Bryne and UK tour champ Andrew MacKenzie.

The play has now concluded for Day 1 with 44 players bagging up.

Just before the final rounds of hands, we lost the last remaining ambassador Daiva Byrne.

Daiva 3bet shoved from the Button after a player in MP opened.

She was unlucky to get the call and be behind, with her AQo in bad shape against AKo. The King on the flop all but cemented her fate and there was no miracle turn and river.  A fantastic day's play with an unlucky ending. We hope to see her back for Day 1b tomorrow.

With the final hand of the night announced 47 players remained and a huge pot about to take place.

UK player David Mcconachie was all-in from UTG, with Unibet qualifier Simonas Eigminas, sat on his direct, also going all-in, only to see the very next player also move all his chips into the middle.

The Button looked down at his hand and sighed with a big decision to make. The clock was called and he reluctantly folded.

Mcconachie held Q ♠️♠️ , Eigminas the monster Aces and the third all-in player held pocket sevens and needing a lot of help.

The board bricked 8 3 9 6 2 and Eigminas won a massive pot in the final hand and eliminated two players in the process.

Scotland's Andrew MacKenzie has also achieved a Day 2 stack and we will have confirmation of his and all the final chip counts before the start of play tomorrow, Noon local time, 8 pm GMT.

Thank you all for following the action! I welcome your comments and look forward to responding to them before the start of Day 1b.

Goodnight! :)
