@psrquackthis year I only played the UO satellites. I recently bought Dara's book (Poker Satellite Strategy) and I really want to try to play as much satellites as I can in the next few months. Maybe I will consider playing some MTT-s as well.
I really don't know much about the regulation of poker in Bulgaria nowadays. I only know, that you can't use the Unibet client, as they don't have a license there. It was different in the past, there was even one Unibet Open tournament in Varna in 2010.

@successlawI play 5-man 1€- and 2€-buy-in. I am going to make some kind of a challenge for next year in order to build a bankroll for 4€-SNG and become some kind of a regular there 😀  

Chapter One: How it all started

I am starting this blog with the intention to make it something like my personal diary, where I write down everything about my “poker career”. I will share with you my results and I will do some challenges in order to keep myself motivated and more disciplined and of course to improve my game.

Let’s start with a little bit of information about myself. My name is Dimitar, I am 26 years old and I am from Bulgaria. After finishing High School I moved to Germany to study civil engineering and now I have a regular 9-to-5-job in a small company.

I started playing poker when I moved to Germany. The first 3 or 4 years I played from time to time with virtual money and with friends just for fun. Then I made accounts on different poker rooms and started playing some freerolls. At this time, poker was just gambling for me. After a while, I decided to make my first money deposit. I don’t remember exactly, when this happened, let’s say it was at the beginning of 2018. I started trying all kinds of games: cash games, MTT’s, HexaPro’s, SnG’s. As I mentioned, poker was pure gambling for me at this point, so as you can probably guess, I was slowly losing my money 🤣. After depositing several times with the same result, I decided that I had to stop playing poker. So in the summer of 2018 I closed most of my poker accounts. At Unibet I limited the product poker for the maximum period of 6 months. This was one of the best decisions in my “poker career”.

Couple of months later my passion for poker returned, but I couldn’t play because of all the restrictions, that I had made. So I started to watch some videos from live poker tournaments. At first I watched just the highlights, where every hand was with a huge pot and went all the way to the river. When I listened to the commentators I heard some strange and unknown words for me, such as “ranges”, “c-bet”, “floating”, etc. I got curious and started to read articles on the internet. After the first couple of articles I realized, that until then I hadn’t been playing the game poker at all. I started to read articles daily and to watch the full 12-13 hours streams from the live poker tournaments. A dream was born at this time: I wanted to be there, on the final table, bluffing Daniel Negreanu…  

It was around November-December 2018 when I had access to my Unibet poker account again and this time I was ready to crush the tables :D … or at least I thought so…  After 6 months not playing I just raised every hand preflop, c-beted or check-raised every flop. I wanted to use all of these strategies that I read about. Fortunately, for me this didn’t last long and I was able to start playing better and I really improved my game.

I still didn’t know what game type is best for me. For sure it wasn’t the HexaPro. Despite winning a 5€-Buy-in MTT for more than 250€, I think I play my best game on SnG’s and satellites.

In my next post I will talk about the road to my first Unibet Open Event.

yesterday (08.09.2019) I won an Unibet Open Package for the first time. I received a ticket, which will expire in 3 days, but there are no tournaments to register with this ticket in the poker lobby. In the description of the tournament is written, that winners will be contacted by the Unibet Open Team within 48 hours. But how will they contact us? Via e-mail or message in my Unibet account? If it is via e-mail I want to tell you here, that I had a problem with my account until today 12:00 CET. If you send me an e-mail before 12:00 I please send it to me one more time.
