Since 2021, the Gambling Regulation Commission has been operating in Ukraine. At the moment, 3 poker rooms have a license:

The question is why Unibet did not want to buy the license. There can be many reasons. One of the reasons for which I initially thought - ecology (perhaps because it was easier to take offense at and blame only Unibet 🙃)
Now I believe more in the words of another person, that the reason is Ukraine's bad rating in various anti-corruption ratings and similar things, which can negatively affect the reputation of Unibet in the EU markets.

Ok, didn't know that, I thought it was totally unregulated. Seems a business decision and you might be right with the second assumption 😔

  2. While it really saddens me, I don't think the decision has anything to do with the supposed "bad rep" of eastern Europeans or anything like this. When it comes to bad reputation, I think nobody can beat us, Romanians 😅. And for now it seems we are still in Unibet's good graces. If we deserve the bad rep or not, is a different question. I think the only reason is the fact that poker isn't regulated in Ukraine, and this is a risk if a merger or acquisition is in plan. Without too much detail, I'll say that I worked at some point in my life at a company involved in gambling that was bought by a bigger one. After the acquisition, we had to abandon all the grey markets because that was the new policy, and it was a very big chunk of the income. For very big companies, with shareholders and such, grey markets are too much of a legal risk an that is that, unfortunately. But nothing is lost, in Romania poker was regulated quite recently and I don't see any reason why it couldn't be in Ukraine also in the future. Good luck, my friend, all the best!

  3. Really sad to hear this, man. You were one of the guys I enjoyed following here and the way you found the strength to stay positive during these horrible times is an inspiration. You still have options, right? I hope you'll find a way to drop a thought from time to time here or on Discord, would really like to follow your progress. Best of luck in the future and at the tables !

    Spoiler

    even against me 😅

We can’t really know the enjoyment level players are experiencing can we .

Imo, as I said, a good indicator of enjoyment for recs, without actually having the data,  might be the fact that the games are running with pretty good numbers. While regulars have other motives for playing despite games not being "fun",  the only logical reason for recs to continuously pour money is if they are satisfied with what they pay for.

    Nobody likes it.

Was fun watching this  for a while but this just burns my eyes. It's obvious that no reg likes it but how do you know about what recs think?  I've seen mentioned the notion of "fun". They only people for which the games need to be fun are the recs and they seem to like it otherwise they wouldn't continue to lose money. You just keep repeating the obvious complaints of a reg and basically want NL200 but with banzai spaz fish that get it in with top pair 200 bb deep. I get it, I would love it too, it was fun while it lasted, but games change and everyone needs to adapt. my 2c
@Stubbe-Unibet Would it be possible to share some insight about how the game changed? Are there regs that do better, are recs losing slower, are there more new players than before, etc?

    My prediction is:

    - marginal winners will become losers for sure

    - average winners will remain pretty much the same. Smaller win rate but double the number of hands.

    - crushers will win even more because of bigger number of hands

    -  recs will be recs😅
I'm sure I have at least two right.

Sample size for Banzai 2.0 is too small to draw any conclusions. I might share some numbers again in a month, when we've got a proper number of hands per player 🙂

Noticed some revived interest on this topic recently and  I'm curious if you can share some stats about the impact on regs, recs, etc after nearly a year of Banzai 2.0. Cheers!

@fornicator99, I saw you first hold on to first place, then second. What is the result in the end?

Well, things were good until there were like 2-3 hours remaining when doomswitch was activated😅. This game can be very cruel sometimes. Started losing every all in, getting 2outed,  any2 whales hitting hard flops in big  3bet pots with 92o and things like this. Was getting very frustrated and started playing B game. So if there's one thing I learned all these years is that when you start to tilt, you have to stop playing. I considered it's -EV to continue playing so I sacrificed second place despite having a good lead and finished in third. Good profit overall but I could have been much better. Oh, well, next time 😅

And in general, psychological exhaustion from constant power outages, news, etc. in recent days. I feel that soon I will have to go to a psychotherapist again. Tired of all this...

Sorry to hear that, man.  Truth is this week was really s**t for Ukraine, I really wish you guys could catch a break sometimes 😔 Hope it will end soon with victory.

I was thinking about going to bed too, but I noticed that the 2nd player stopped playing.) So sorry. The race itself starts at 17:XX EET and lasts until exactly 04:00 EET. In my opinion, the description of the promo should be changed, because on the website and in the poker client I could not find accurate information about the hours of the race, which is really a bit confusing.

Hah, when opportunity knocks, you open the door. Glad it was you and especially on the 1 euro limit .

  9. Ok, so I have a question about Banzai Bonaza. How does this exactly work? Reading the specs, I see that all flops seen between 18 - 02 EET count towards the leaderboard. But last week, at 02 am, which is EET, I was comfortably  in second place, with like 200 point to spare and thought it's finished and went to sleep only to wake op in 3rd place in the morning😅😅.  So what I am missing here?

Not even 10 members completing the mission yet. Still got a chance to win entry into the tournament, even if you haven't started yet 🙂

As it's one of  the more time consuming missions, I'll make sure everyone is paid in the MTT

It was quite challenging and, personally, I like  it more. It was fun and worth the time because one knows there won't be many people completing it. It's better let's say  than the Sensei one with 600 runners and 15 paid places.
