Thanks @JeppeL for the freeroll. Truly was one of the most funniest community tournaments ever. So much fun and good laughs with really cool people. Got a nice 3rd place ( deserved , as well ) , but , again, one of the best tournament in terms of fun. GG @Leo-Unibet , @Patric-Unibet , @Michael-Unibet , @Stubbe-Unibet , @Kris-Unibet , @FeelsBadMan , @MrGarfield and sorry for missing the rest.

@JeppeL

Blurry vision, loss of memory, puking, all after falling on your head? After watching the NFL for over 20 years now, that very much sounds like a concussion! Take some time off and rest...

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

@WuDu Have had a couple of concussions in the past, one of them a big one when I was very young, so given how this feels I'd say very mild - mostly it's the neck that's hurting now.. Taking it easy, but also has to finish up here at the UO - and in just a few minutes wr have @HAI_ROMANIA and @AndreiBN taking part in the casino challenge :)

@StarKebap No knockout, but might join the hyper at 18:00 :)

Just caught this thread @JeppeL @WuDu and purely by coincidence I watched a film yesterday, "Concussion" with Will Smith, about the problems in NFL in America, very interesting. It doesn't sound like you've had as many knocks on the head as they get @JeppeL, up to 70,000 in an 18 year career, but take it easy and hope you're recovering. 👍

Musn't have been too bad if you're winning tourneys, congrats to you and @Leo-Unibet 😃

Unfortunately none of them came true. I hope next time you can replace your one men army at least 2 people and after the accidental situation the staff will be able to report us at least about the winner of the next Station. I expected more than user uploaded gifts in this topic.

Ok, let's be more constructive. When I launched here the Unibet Open was the crown of all tourneys and every community member wanted to be there. It has a function like a personal meeting of the community members. Currently I saw that there is no resource (will, time etc) so strenghten this connection to community and Unibet Open.Currently a member can't identify oneself to players of the UO, because there is no allurement being a part of this live happening. There are no stories about members who made it, no live updates about their progress and no effective efforts of the  staff to keep the magical root between the community and the UO alive. We need members who are capable to update their UO jerney's here with pictures, stack size, current position, or just a Hey community we are going to party, more after the event in my blog 'tweets". I know not every player want to unfold theirself, but the staff should reward with some tickets players, who are exhibitionist enough to make this. I think the UO events should accumulate the members of the community, they should give them a community experience with a little push toward to qualifiers. People who read this threat should feel the hunger wanting to be there. Unfortunately the staff couldn't fulfill any of the goals mentioned above. I don't want that the next UO should mean no mods before the event, drunken mods during the event and some congrats guys, it was awesome posts. What was awesome? For me, who wasn't there due to the lack of infos nothing. You can help people with photos and news and updates have a feeling they are also part of the magic. I felt the same at the live casino event thread. 2 members are hitting the casino tables. But what is that promotion? What final is that? What are the rules? How it works? Should I be there being informed?

I completely agree with your sentiment @psrquack.

What I will say though is at UO Dublin (my first ever UO), I was treated extremely well by the Unibet team even giving me an extra night at the hotel for free as I had missed my flight due to making the final table. The whole featured table/final table experience was very TV like and although at the time I must admit I felt it was a bit too much having to wear microphones, walk onto stage like a celebrity etc, looking back at it now I think it's only good for the game.

When I first got into poker around 2007, TV poker was quite big in the UK and it was the ambition of many of us newer players to one day get to be one of those guys. Even after 11-12 years I must admit that I felt a massive excitement getting an opportunity like that at Dublin (not quite TV but you know what I mean). That dream doesn't die no matter how long you play poker in my opinion, which is why I agree that Unibet need to do whatever they can to engage their community and get people wanting to be at their tournaments.

What I will say though is I do feel there is a lack of connection between the community and the Unibet ambassadors. Obviously I can go and watch them on Twitch if I want but I can't remember ever seeing any of them (other than DaVitsche - probably spelled that wrong) on the community. I do appreciate some of them have their own tournaments or freerolls on the site but I don't believe that achieves what a community blog or occasional write up would.

Just my two cents.

Has there ever been a connection? They get paid to promote a product, that's it. If another room would offer them a better deal next week, they'd be gone. Posting here doesn't help their bottom line.

I also feel that the UO tour is going in a weird direction. Satellite participation is going down since the ticket exchanges were stopped and there is really no buzz about the series on the community any more. I remember, during the infamous "member of the year 2016"-award/competition, the first place received some lightweight UO package.

I completely agree with @psrquack and @Brocky.

I remember qualifying for my first UK tour not long after joining Unibet. Nottingham 2017. I final tabled the event and all weekend there were constant updates and pictures of how people were doing. We had to pose for final table pics which were posted in the thread etc. At the time the updates were 90% to do with the amabassadors and I complained that they needed to get out there and find the chip and chair stories or the guy that qualified through a sat for €1 and has never played live. To be fair they listened and started to do this. These updates continued throughout 2017 at all events as far as I can remember. Then, I went to the first stop of 2018 in Brighton and this no longer happened. Think one of the guys may have gone to PokerNews which is where I followed Sinaia from. It is a shame that I should have to go to an external site to follow a Unibet tournament when the means to big up how the community members are doing is right here. It's all part of inspiring players to get in the sat tree and be there. A lot of pictures for events now are posted in Unibets Flickr account but how many people on here even know that exists because they are never pointed towards it.

edit - The above link should be stickied to this forum in my opinion @JeppeL

I should also point out as others have said. When at the event the Unibet staff are phenomenal and you couldn't ask for better people to make you feel welcome and comfy in what youre playing.

Unibet ambassadors are a myth. As if they dont ever show their face in here to the community at the very least.

Looks like some of them would rather get involved in 2p2 drama and get their name out there a bit more.

Must admit I was super looking forward to going to UO this year and UK tours, but that excitement is fast wearing off.

the lack of promoting/hype for Sinaia, and all their 2019 events I imagine, is absolutely shocking.

When do we get start times and other relevant info for Milton Keynes UK tour, the day before the event?

Massively appreciate what the Unibet guys do on these forums trying to keep the community together  but the organisation of these live events has me massively concerned about the future of them, 6 weeks before events start ands we cannot even have basic information for travel, what do these Unibet ambassadors even do?

I think it's difficult when there's only one community mod/manager at the events, as the first priority will always be to take care of the players there.
When both Marco and I were in London (https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/Unibet-Open-UK-Tour/Unibet-Open-London-2017-Live-Updates-Thread/m-p/72611#M1449) , I could take care of most of the updates and Marco handled a lot of the practical stuff. There were also a lot more community members attending e.g. London 17 and Bucharest, and the members posted more, as the threads were very active.
With the community team being one man less today, it's obviously a challenge to send two guys, and it might also be difficult to justify financially, unless there's a lot of members.

Personally I was really quiet on here for this one, as the event was mostly for workshops and team building with the poker team (I joined just over a month ago and @Michael-Unibet has just joined the team). At future events I'll try to help out the community guys a bit, and I also want to spend more time with the players there.

@sgriff, at least the Unibet Open is much better this year than the past many years. Still room for improvement with the UK tour, but I know it's something the team is aware of, so sure we'll see improvement there as well.
For the next community side event I'll bring my camcorder and do a live stream :)
