UK tour updates and other moans

Hi,

Are there any updates for the UK poker tour stops? If not then why? I just think it's a bit poor that there are no updates on twitter or anywhere here, especially when there are two ladies at the event sat behind computers. What are they doing?

Also there is no structure sheet or clock info anywhere on this website and non on the host casino website (Manchester 235) either. For a poker site with a good number of intelligent ambassadors this is a very poor effort. If I'm wrong then I apologise. If the info and updates are out there somewhere then maybe make them easier to find.

I personally will not be attending another one of these events as I don't like the structure and many other local players said they didn't attend because of the same issues.

You also will have respond here by the mods later today, but usually it will contain about sorry for any inconveinences, we are working on it, be patient, due to the legislation the negotiations/adding schedule may take a little bit longer as expected etc. So nothing concrete, but some days before event starts they will add the info.

I didn’t play but I am in Manchester at the moment and went and spoke to a few players. General feeing was incredibly disappointed with Unibet.

No promotion, no news, no structure, no ambassador, no updates, no community feel, no visible staff other than Kasia, who does a great job I must add, but whole thing just felt like a normal weekend event that the casino itself could of put on.

@Zach, I agree 100 % that things will have to change, and they will. We're planning to make changes to the UK tour for next year, which is also why there's no info about the tournaments for next year. There's unfortunately not much else I can say at this stage. As soon as everything is in place, we'll communicate it here, on the social channels etc. We will strive to make sure there's at least an ambassador for all of them, live updates and better social media coverage.

In the case of Manchester it suffered from employees on leave and it was planned for one ambassador to be there.

The "two ladies at the event sat behind computers" probably weren't reporters and had other responsibilities even if you didn't see them, can't really expect people to do 5 jobs just cause the event didn't hire a dedicated person for the job. As for the pictures, usually Unibet events have a big banner that directs people to where they can see the photos from the event, maybe it was missing this time, or you didn't see it. Wouldn't be surprised if it was missing tho, the 235 doesn't seem to have loads of space for banners 😀

Thanks Metalwolf! Obviously I am biased but I enjoyed the tournament a lot. Was my second ever UK tour and I think the only change I would make is to have entry open a little bit longer on each day 1. Maybe another two levels. Just to give people a chance to fire a second bullet and boost the prizepool.

What is fantastic is that the rake was 10% with no extra money taken out and there was even extra money added. Compared to other operators this is great and should be noted.

What is wrong with the structure of the tourney? Seemed pretty perfect for a 200 quid 2 day comp.

I think it's the shortening of the levels from 40 mins to 30 mins on day 1 that has put people off.  That's my guess anyway based on what put me off from playing the 2019 tour other than this one leg, having previously played most of the legs since the very first one back in Feb 2016 (I think).

The addition of the Unibet Open packages is a big attraction and is what brought me back this time - I hope that is staying for the revamped tour.

Congrats on winning by the way. And it was good to meet you at the start of day 2.

That ten minutes is such a weird thing to make a decision on in my opinion. The rake for a comparable tourney such as Grosvenor 25/25 is 5 quid higher, plus they also take money out of the prizepool for leaderboards which a casual player has no chance of winning and they also pay out overlays with vouchers. The Genting GPS tournies also have 25 quid rake and the seats are part of the prize pool wheras Unibet UK Tour are added. Both are fine tournies of course if there is one in your area, but I just think Unibet is better.

Is that extra ten minutes per level on day one worth it for the extra rake? I guess you as a player can decide. For me if I was regularly playing these buy ins then the Unibet ones would be first on my list!

Good to meet you too and thanks!
