Day 1B is underway

We are halfway through the first level here in Manchester, and so far we currently have 57 players registered on the day, meaning we are not far away from breaking the £40,000 guarantee, as 113 players registered yesterday.

unibet-uk-poker-tour-2017---manchester-day-1a-013_38032962205_o.thumb.jpg.3bd132a69e2b4bd820437227a8c32356.jpgUnibet poker ambassadors Ian Simpson and Rauno Tahvonen are in the field again today after they couldn't get going yesterday on Day 1A and unfortunately busted out towards the end of the day. And like yesterday, the ambassadors will all have bounties on their heads to the tune of a €100 online Unibet ticket.

So that means no bluffing this time Ian!

And like yesterday, starting stacks are 25,000 and blinds have started at 25/50 and the levels are 40 minutes long.

Family pot on table 3!

We have just entered the second level with blinds at 50/100, and we have just had a family pot over on table 3! All the players at the table saw the flop after utg limped and everyone limped along.

It eventually saw Hannah Gregson scoop the pot, after her Q♥️ 7♦️ beat Daniel Sheldon's K♦️ Q♠️ on a board of:

q♣️ J♠️ 2♠️ 7♣️ 2♥️

Some unconventional plays early on then here in Manchester, but as the day grows on I'm sure we'll see the more conventional side of things.

NMPfan is back for another shot!unibet-uk-poker-tour-2017---manchester-day-1a-045_25051283328_o.thumb.jpg.6bf60cc04a4fb9f2e8bb152fac9d0c2e.jpgAdrian Nica, otherwise known as @FeelsBadMan in the Unibet community, has registered and taken his seat here on Day 1B in the hope of making a better run than he did last night.

After his amazing run in Nottingham earlier in the year which saw him finish 2nd and scoop just under £9,000, Adrian is looking to add to that here in Manchester, and currently finds himself sat next to none other than Unibet ambassador Ian Simpson! Good luck guys!

Vinod Jadav or @pirahn as he's known in the Unibet community has also just registered the tournament. He'll be looking to add to his cash at the Unibet Open in Bucharest last week. Good luck Vinny!

First break

We have just reached the first break here on Day 1B in Manchester and we have 77 players currently registered as we edge ever closer to breaking through the £40,000 guarantee.

Unibet e-sport ambassadors Fabian 'Kioshima' Fiey and Fredrik Bergmann entered the field shortly before the break and so as a result they pretty much have a starting stack.

Notable name chip counts:

Rauno Tahvonen - 29,200

Adrian Nica (@NMPfan) - 28,000

Ian Simpson - 27,700

Fredrik Bergmann - 25,200

Fabian 'Kioshima' Fiey - 24,500

More names from the field will be coming after the break as well as chip leader update. Also, Vinod Jadav (@pirahn) will be taking his seat once the break has ended.

Guarantee surpassed!25062495958_421fa98417_o.thumb.jpg.740191bafc51f3aa83825c8630fe8148.jpg

The £40,000 guarantee for the Manchester leg of the Unibet UK Tour has been broken.

With a total of 202 players over the two Day 1's so far, the prizepool currently sits at £40,400, and with two more levels until late registration ends, it looks as though it will go a lot higher.

Kioshima doubles up

Unibet e-sport ambassador Fabian 'Kioshima' Fiey has just double up after putting another player in a really difficult spot.

We pick up the action on the river, where Fabian has over bet shoved for 15,500 into a pot of around 10,000. The board read:

k:Diamonds: 2♠️ 4♠️ 8♣️ 2♥️

Fabian's opponent tanked and tanked and tanked on the river, and eventually made the call, that was essentially for all but 1,000 of his chips.

unibet-open-10---bucharest-2017---day-1a-062_24870912578_o.thumb.jpg.b3938db95cc6fd0a68d5d7a318fcacc5.jpgFabian confidently turned over his 8x 8x for a turned set and rivered full house. His opponent mucked his cards, only for the dealer to turn them over because it was an all-in and a call.

His cards were Ax Ax. Extremely unlucky for him, but a nice pot for Kio, who is now sitting on a stack of over 40,000.

The blinds are currently 150/300 here in Manchester, and Unibet poker ambassador David Lappin has registered for another shot at working up a nice stack for Day 2, and his headwear is quite remarkable!

Pics to follow soon.

Second break chip counts

27160215269_c86e23ea3c_o.thumb.jpg.c4edf8f422183d4027431b2ad41bb718.jpgWe have reached the end of level six here in Manchester, and that means two things. Number one, players are on a 20 minute break and number two, that 20 minute window is the last chance for players to register the final Unibet leg of the calendar year!

Registration will close after the next break finishes so make sure you get your registration in before then if you want a final attempt at winning some of the £40,000+ prizepool.

Notable name chip counts:

Rauno Tahvonen - 46,000

Adrian Nica (@NMPfan)  - 40,000

Hannah Gregson - 37,000

Fabian 'Kioshima' Fiey - 32,500

Vinod Jadav (@pirahn) - 30,000

Ian Simpson - 25,500

We lose Lappin!

unibet-uk-poker-tour-2017---manchester-day-1a-012_38032965445_o.thumb.jpg.9dcebfb4cee3678a139bd5d277513416.jpgUnibet poker ambassador David Lappin is out of the Manchester leg of the Unibet UK Tour.

After having a difficult Day 1B, David found a spot when he flopped middle pair and a back door flush draw with his short stack, only for his opponent, Walter Black to have an overpair and hold.

It was a rough day at the office for David, as earlier in the Day his TT was no match for an utg blind raiser who proceeded to flop two pair against him with 97o, and after it got all in on the flop, the 97o held.

Walter Black, the man who knocked David out not only gets his chips, but also bags himself a €100 online ticket to use on the Unibet client to satellite into the next UK Tour leg.

Unlucky David, 10/10 hat though! - Picture still to come!

Rollercoaster for Bergie

Unibet e-sport ambassador Fredrik Bergmann has been put through the motions in the last level here in Manchester.

He was first of all crippled down to around 10bbs after he got it in against a shorter stack with 77 against KK, and so things weren't looking good for the e-sports battle royale winner in Bucharest.

However, just a few hands later, Bergie got his last 10bbs in with ATo, and was up against 99.

An ace in the window was all Fredrik needed for a well timed double up, and after that he went from strength to strength. He is now on 42,500.

Blinds are now 1000/2000 with a 100 ante as we close on in on the third and final break of the day. After that the players will play three more levels before either being bust, or bagging and tagging their chips.

Unibet community regular Adrian Nica @FeelsBadMan, has just won a huge pot of over 90,000, propelling him up towards the chip leaders here in Manchester.

He covered two players who got it in with 4♣️ 5♣️ and Q♠️ Q♥️, but they were no match for Adrian's K♣️ K♦️.

The board came: T♥️ J♠️ 4♦️ 7♣️ 8♥️ and @FeelsBadMan scooped in the pot to knock out two people, and form a stack of around 165,000.

Khytushko crushing in the latter stages

32 players remain here in Manchester as we enter the final level. And two of those players are female players, one of which is on a charge late on to become end of day chip leader!

Katarina Khytushko is a regular cash player here at the 235 casino in Manchester and after a good couple of levels, she now finds herself near the top stacks, as she has over 200,000.

After winning a few flips and other huge pots she has really made a name for herself deep into Day 1B.

One of the reasons for the huge chip stack came not long ago when she covered two short stacks that were all in, and her TT held against both AK and A9 for her to scoop a huge pot and score the double knockout.

Day 1B round up

Day 1B has finally come to an end and 27 players will be joining the 28 that made it through on Day 1A to make a total of 55 players for tomorrow's Day 2. Apologies for the delay in posting, some internet issues meant I'm only able to post it now.

I'll be back with the blog tomorrow from 1pm when Day 2 starts, however, be sure to come to Ian Simpson's poker seminar running tomorrow at the 235 casino from 12pm.
