Final table

We are down to nine players here in the main event, which means that those players have officially made the final table here in Bucharest.

They have all locked up a cash of at least €9,100 by making it this far, but their eyes will now be set on the top prize of over €90,000 and title of Unibet Open Bucharest champion.

We lost Romanian player Bogdan Ionescu and he unfortunately is the final table bubble boy. He still takes home just under €8,000 however which is still great going, well played Bogdan.

Chip leader going into the final table is Israeli Avi Cohen who has a stack of around 2,600,000 with the blinds at 20,000/40,000 (5,000 ante), which is around 65bbs. The average is 1,600,000 and the final table has just begun.

Dor Lan wins a sizeable pot24915403848_f7c30d18fe_o.thumb.jpg.b52bc88134d7dce269ddc6e7830b94e8.jpgDor Lan has increased his stack by around 400,000 chips after a pot that went four ways to the flop.

Henrik Tellving started off the limp train in the CO with Q♣️ 8♣️, and sure enough, the button and the small blind limped along with Dor Lan checking his option in the big blind.

Tellving : Q♣️ 8♣️   Zidar: 4♦️ 4♠️   Pertea: 5♦️ 2♦️   Lan: Q♥️ 7♥️

The flop came: 3♦️ 6♥️ 2♥️ which meant most players had a piece of it. The action checked to Henrik Tellving who started all this off, and he bet 75,000, which got calls from both Bojan Zidar with the pocket fours and Pertea with his pair and gut shot straight draw.

It was then back on Lan in the big blind and with a queen-high flush draw and two over cards to the board, he shoved all in for around 900,000 into a pot of around 500,000, and managed to get folds from all three opponents.

A really nice spot that paid off and gave Lan a much needed boost on the final table here in Bucharest. Even though he had a lot of equity in the hand, its a great feat in poker in general when you can make a play and get three better hands to fold.

Still nine handed on the final table, I'll be sure to bring updates from the closing stages of the main event as they happen.

Vukovic doubles up!38070346554_9814399e38_o.thumb.jpg.1a159d6e138ad3cb2b8a91305484a44f.jpgThe shortest stack at the final table here in Bucharest has managed to find a double up through the big stack.

Croatian Robert Vukovic got in A♣️ K♣️ against Avi Cohen's 7♣️ 7♦️.

After a Q♥️ J♥️ 4♠️ flop, Robert was left needing an Ace, King or Ten to make the best hand, and sure enough the A♦️ on the turn did just that. The 6♥️ on the river meant that there was a significant exchange in chips from the biggest stack to the shortest stack.

Vukovic is now up to around 1,600,000, whereas Cohen is still chip leader but has taken an obvious hit. He's down to around 2,500,000.

Dor Lan busts in 9th!

We are down to eight players here in Bucharest on the final table, after Dor Lan ran his 9♠️ 9♦️ into the A♣️ A♦️ of Robert Vukovic.

The board ran out: 5♣️ J♣️ 6♦️ A♠️ K♣️ and Vukovic is now the new chip leader, with over 3,500,000.

Dor takes home €9,110 for his efforts, but he will be disappointed to have finished 9th, as he was around 5th in chips before his bust out hand.

Vukovic knocks out another player38070346554_9814399e38_o.thumb.jpg.67555db2e52783187ac2ad753fe8033d.jpgRobert Vukovic is on a charge on the final table of the main event here in Bucharest.

He has just sent Henrik Tellving to the rail in 8th place after his A♥️ 3♠️ couldn't hold against the J♦️ T♦️ of Vukovic.

The board ran out: T♣️ 7♠️ 5♠️ J♥️ K♠️ and Tellving was out and took home €10,930.

Vukovic now has over 4,500,000 chips and is the overwhelming leader, and no the obvious favourite to take down the whole event.

Heidelbacher gone in 7th

We are down to six here in Bucharest after the K♦️ T♦️ for Chris Heidelbacher couldn't hit against the 9♦️ 9♠️ of Avi Cohen.

Cohen has now re-taken the chip lead, as after his nines held against Heidelbacher, Vukovic then lost an all-in against Guy Ohayon and as a result is down to 3,300,000, and Cohen has just under 4,500,000.

Amazingly...we lose Cohen in fourth place!

Avi Cohen has busted the main event in fourth place after being chip leader for most of the final table!

Remarkably, Marius Pertea has gone from being short for the whole final table, to being an overwhelming chip leader with over 8,000,000!

Avi's downswing began after losing essentially a flip with A3o vs Pavao Veza's QJs, and after that, with the blinds becoming huge now, Cohen all of a sudden had around 20bbs.

He shoved A8o and got snap called by Marius Pertea's AQo, and the AQo held to knock out Cohen, and take a monster chip lead.

Avi Cohen takes home €28,860 for his fourth place finish, but he will surely be thinking what could've been.

On we go three handed.

We are heads up!

We are down to just two players here in Bucharest and close to crowning our winner of the Unibet Open Bucharest main event champion.

We have lost Pavao Veza in third place after his KQo couldn't hit against the A6o of Robert Vukovic. He still took home €38,965 for his great run here in Bucharest.

So, it is Marius Pertea and Robert Vukovic heads up for the title of Unibet Open Champion, and of course the €90,000 that comes with coming first. Robert has a slight chip lead going into the heads up match, but the two stacks really aren't two different.

Robert Vukovic - 7,800,000

Marius Pertea - 7,200,00038812726151_f816ba969c_o.thumb.jpg.f00590a02818b27b28e497afebc96557.jpg

It's all over!

We have a winner here in Bucharest!

The Unibet Open Bucharest 2017 Main Event winner is...Marius Pertea! 38812720791_01927aa811_o.thumb.jpg.14bfcb6ae3ad9489e0ef49d65edb8840.jpgThe Romanian has won the tournament and the top prize of €90,925, after one of the most remarkable come backs on a final table. Pertea spent most of the final table on less than 20bbs, but he grinded it back up to get to heads up and found himself a tough opponent in Robert Vukovic.

After being crippled down to 8bbs during the heads up match because of losing essentially a flip with KQo against Robert's A6o, it looked as though Marius had used up all his run-good.

However, in back to back hands he doubled up and doubled up again, making the stacks virtually even again.

And it was one hand that decided the fate of Vukovic, as he raised A♥️ Q♠️ and Marius called with K♣️ 6♣️ and proceeded to flop two pair, and trap Robert into triple barrelling.

38812727981_567a64996d_o.thumb.jpg.6ad86d5afb031329eecd61f0a915abc3.jpgThe board was T♣️ K♥️ 6♦️ 5♠️ 9♣️, and Robert bluff shoved all in on the river, only for Marius to snap call and win the tournament right there.

Vukovic will be disappointed that he couldn't win the tournament after he also had an amazing final table run, but he takes home €56,500 and is well a deserved second place finisher. GG Robert.

Back to the star of the show and Marius Pertea is a very worthy winner here in Bucharest, his run on the final table was incredible and his determination and inability to give up got him to that number one spot. Very well done Marius!

I'm hoping to see you all again next week in Manchester for the UK tour, or maybe at the next Unibet Open if Iucky enough to either be asked to come back or lucky enough to win  a package with my community freeroll winners ticket!

38812726151_f816ba969c_o.thumb.jpg.516e1f0f943ae0e7179f22c0dcff04ce.jpgBut overall, like Copenhagen, it's been great. Thanks again to you all, congratualtions to all the winners of all the tournament and to Marius Pertea, the main event winner taking home over €90,000, well played!
