@AndreiBN I feel like without seeing the draw trying to pick the double team to be first eliminated is a 100% blind luck. I dont think i have one good one in those throughout all the compsGeek. Please consider maybe some other fun alternatives like:

Which player from the eliminations will go the farthest?

Prediciting both players in final.

Which player from x country will go the farthest [country that its over-represented like USA,France]

Winners in juniors tournaments

These are much easier [easier in a sense that you can gather some info about it and make educated guess] to predict than first top 10 team in doubles to be eliminated IMO.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

@jerry , i'm always open to new suggestions, that's the reason i ask you guys to give me some feedback after every tennis competition. As a result from it, after @Purps suggested to use 4 picks for the daily question instead of 2 , it was implemented.

I really like your feedback on this one and will use it in the future for sure.Unfortunately we will have to wait until January Smile

On another hand, the doubles draw is available for some time on the US Open website and at least you can see the 1st round of matches. But i get it that it might be a bit hard for some to collect all these info , so will adjust a few questions for the next competitions.

If anyone will have more to add and have some good/bad ideas, feel free to share anytime Smile

The registration for US Open 2019 is now officially CLOSED. No entries will be taken into cosideration from now on in the pre tournament prediction competition. Also , when the daily question registration will be closed every day  , i will not add any entry from that point , even if it will be just one second later.

Thank you guys for such a big number of entries in this community competition .

Given the time zone difference , unfortunately , i will not pick for the daily matches the most entertaining ones ( at least on paper ) , as it will be too difficult for the majority of you to follow up thse matches on such later night/early morning hours , but, purhapse a couple of times, during the weekend , i will pick the blockbusters of the day.

The action will start in about 20 hours from now , and we'll be spoiled with a lot of quality tennis matches throughout the upcoming 2 weeks. We'll see for sure a  lot of underdogs making their way to claim the fame on the hard surface courts,we'll have some thriller matches like it always happens and we'll build memories for a lifetime of this amazing sport.

We have quite some favourites for winning this edition of the US Open, but as we've seen so far, many things can quicly change and some underdogs can really come with the surprise. But we will for sure enjoy what's in store.

So let's get comfortable and tomorrow just relax and watch as the show unleashes with the big stars on the courts. Root for your favourite player or, booo the one you've predicted to be first eliminated and in just 2 weeks you might end up with juicy prizes ,courtesy of the great mods of Unibet and this awsome community.

Important reminder : To be eligible for the Special prize of €150 , beside having the highest number of correct pre tournament predictions, you'll need to take part in at least 13 out of 14 Daily giveaways. You don't need to predict the right answer, just to participate, but if you get inspired you'll also take part in the daily raffle and win a €50 prize ( of your preferance ).

The rule for paticipating in 13 out of 14 daily giveaways still applies for both big prizes ( €150 for the highest number of correct pre tournament predictions as well for the €150 for the highest number of daily correct answers throughout the competition) , so keep that in mind in order to avoid dissapointment.

Will post the first question for the daily giveaways in just a few minutes from now,so be ready!!!

Wish you best of luck and enjoy tennis at it's best!!!

Let's get things going! Tomorrow a new edition of US Open will be on it's way,and there will be plenty of interesting matches to watch from the first round.

Former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber will meet the French doubles veteran Kristina Mladenovic in the first round of the 2019 US Open on Monday, August 26.

Kerber holds a 4-1 lead over Mladenovic, last beating her in 2018 China Open. All of Kerber’s victories over the Frenchwoman have come on hard courts through the years.

The number 14 seed Angelique Kerber rose to prominence in 2016 when she won the Australian Open and US Open, thus becoming World No. 1. But now, the 31-year-old appears to be a drastic rut with a kind of tennis completely opposite to what took her to glory.

With just one win in her last three WTA tournaments on the tour, Kerber has been struggling a lot of with her form. In the Rogers Cup and Cincinnati, she lost her opening round matches quite cheaply to Daria Kasatkina and Anett Kontaveit. In Wimbledon, where she was a favourite, she fell in the second round to Lauren Davis.

At the same time, not all has been dark for the German star. She had a good run at the start of the season when she reached the semifinal in Doha and the final in the Indian Wells Open. She had a similar run in Mallorca and Eastbourne as well.

While these performances kept her afloat in the top 10, the massive drop over the last few weeks completely took her out of the scene.

The 25-year-old Mladenovic is currently ranked No. 2 on the doubles circuit, courtesy of her doubles title with Timea Babos in the French Open. However, on the singles circuit, her form has been absolutely disastrous.

Similar to Kerber, she too has been struggling a lot with her momentum. And unlike the German who had some reprieve in a few big events, the same hasn’t been the case for Mladenovic. Among her best runs include reaching the quarterfinal in Istanbul, Monterrey, and the Italian Open, where she defeated Belinda Bencic, Ashleigh Barty, and Caroline Garcia.

Mladenovic had a similar run in Washington and Nottingham as well.

On any other day, Kerber would have started this match as the favourite but given her recent form, anything can happen. This won’t be an easy fixture for the German and Mladenovic, despite her poor results, has the ability to deliver big upsets. She has done so a couple of times already this season and Kerber may not prove to be an exception. This is going to be an incredible, entertaining match.

With all that being said,we have ... :

The tennis match of the day : Angelique Kerber vs. Kristina Mladenovic( Scheduled to start 19:00 CEST - 26.08.2019 )

Question #1 for the daily giveaway on the 26.08.2019 is :

How many games, in total , will this match have?

A. 17 games or less in total in this match.

B. 18-19 games in total for this one.

C. 20-21 games played in total in this match .

D. 22 or over number of games played in total in this match .

Simply post your predictions , A.17 games or less in total in this match , B.18-19 games in total for this one, C.20-21 games played in total in this match or D. 22 or over number of games played in total in this match ,  in this thread and get a chance to walk away with a €50 prize of your preference ,credited to your Unibet account in a couple of days.

In the event that one of the players will retire before the end of the match , ALL predictions will be voided, unless we will reach at least 22 games already played before the retirement happens, in which case the picks will STAND.

Deadline for this question is around : 18:50 CEST ( 26.08.2019 ) Best of luck!!!
