Pride

I may be a little late with the suggestion but as it’s Pride month I think the introduction of some rainbow related avatars would be a nice way to celebrate our LGBT+ comrades. Any thoughts? Is it possible?

Pretty sick that i didn't know and had to google what Pride Month and LGBT is. Happens when you live under a rock. :annoyed:  I'm 👍 for avatars with Rainbows and maybe a Unicorn will be nice.

Would sound odd if Unibet would not participate as they did take part in some very niche campaign called #QueenRules no-one had heard of before. Rather surprised actually that it seems so far they've never taken part in any way to Pride events.

Or maybe they're just going to get more women to play and don't see Pride as great marketing opportunity.

I'm guessing it's less about celebration in the sense that let's have a party and more about bringing awareness about the LGBT community, so that there could be more public attention on LGTB rights (or the lack thereof) so that there would be more pressure on politicians to create the legislation needed which would grant the LGBT community the same rights as you and me already have.

No, Unibet should not be promoting any political/social agendas be it gay or otherwise. Besides Pride isn't a collective voice of gays to begin with and there's a fair percentage that don't want to be associated with the whole spectacle at all.

As @Farseer already pointed out, Unibet is already promoting political and social agendas with the #QueenRules project. A quote from #QueenRules website: "Playing #QueenRules helps raise funds and awareness for HeForShe, our official charity partner. A UN Women initiative for gender equality through solidarity."

I think it would be risky business to gambling co to start promoting something like that.

And who says they should be granted same rights as everyone else, like adoption and so on. Some might want them, others don´t.

Grown ups can do what they want with their lifes, hate to see we start choosing on childs behalf.

Opinions may vary :)

We are already choosing on a child's behalf that he or she is stuck with one's parents, whoever they might be. I think that an argument can be made that whenever someone, may it be a hetero or a gay couple, makes a concious decision that they will go through what I can only imagine to be a rigorous process of adopting a child, there is less of a chance that they are unprepared for taking care of that child.

Not questioning about anyones parenthood, more like thinking childs interests.

But like i said, there are different opinions and i can´t imagine reason why would betting co take stand, way or other.

This also might be wrong community to debate about this. When we are in same neighbourhood, we can go take few beers and get bottom of this

Wow, i knew Unibet had a women-related promo but not that it was quite to that extent. It's ofcourse wrong that Unibet should take it upon themselves to promote feminist political agendas but very symptomatic of the times we live in unfortunately. I was actually going to make a sarcastic joke about how next thing you know you'll have feminist activists lamenting about King ranking higher than Queen but lo and behold:

"London, 5 March 2018 – On International Women’s Day, FCB Inferno, the agency behind Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’, is launching Queen Rules – a new way to play cards, where Queen outranks King. This campaign is designed to get the conversation about gender equality on the table.

Competitors will be playing with limited edition cards that celebrate powerful women of all different shapes and sizes, drawn by sixteen unbelievably talented female illustrators from womenwhodraw.com, a website that champions female illustrators – especially those of colour, LBTQ+ and other minority groups.

The Queen Rules project started when a five-year-old girl questioned why King ranks higher than Queen in a deck of cards. This simple, yet powerful, idea is one way of sparking conversation around the unconscious gender bias that surrounds us – because sometimes the bias we don’t see, is as damaging as the bias we do."

https://www.unibetopen.com/fcb-inferno-launches-queen-rules-challenge-gender-bias-playing-cards-global-campaign-features-new-games-queens-rule-supreme/

It's that corrosive, oppressive type of feminism where nothing is too petty and every representative unbalance is automatically the same as unequality, where unsubstantiated "hidden structures" based on bold claims run the show and every person or organization needs to kowtow and adapt as if it was spoken gospel.

And ofcourse it was very important to point out that these infulential women illustrating the deck were of "all shapes, colors and sexualities" - as if it was such an mindboggling concept to begin with, or important at all for that matter. But in feminism there's an intrinsic value like the bigger minority you are the more points you score on "the equality barometer", virtue signalling over actual substance.

The more you concede to these people the more advanced their microscope of detecting "inequality" becomes, the more you'll have to keep conceding in a neverending cycle. Your allegiance is only ever as valuable to them as the benefits they can reap from you and when the regressive left depletes rights you'll be tagging along for the ride just as everyone else.

@Nospheratuknows what's up. 👍

The way I see it, Unibet is putting up a superior product when it comes to poker. Unibet as a company or the guys in charge (of marketing, poker, communication) are also on the far left. Maybe they have to be, maybe that's who they are. So as long as they don't try to force their believes on me, but still provide me with a great poker experience, they can do all the cute, little SJW, LTBBQ or feminism initiatives they want.

I also believe that this left wing bias might even help softening the poker player pool and in addition to that provides us with great betting offers (cough...Trump...cough).  Already looking forward to Unibet partnering up with antifa in the future...🤣

@ChapInAChair

You can celebrate your gay pride as much as you want, but I'm sitting that one out. Write me a message once it's hetero pride month! Also looking forward to the "rainbow avatars", but probably not in the same way you do! Man, all the possibilities to create funny aliases... 200

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

I don´t quite get it why we should celebrate it? Do heteros celebrate that they are hetero?

Congrats to all of you who are gay but really don´t understand why make such a big deal out of it and everyone should hooray for it?

I agree with you @Livertool . Or maybe we should have one month with celebrate heteros too? I think we have drink a lot of beer during that month :) And almost no people at work :)

It might shock you to learn that a lot of the best players in the world (500NLz+ on Stars) are part of (or are supportive of) the #UKGayCrew. Many of the top online players are not the rainbow-waving "loud and proud" type, but there are a ton of successful people at the top of the poker food chain that happen to be homosexual. Did you think that poker players moved to grind-houses in Thailand, Edinburgh or Brighton just so they can work on Pio solutions together?

Well, @ArtyMcFly, I said left wing bias, you have to work on your reading skills. Leftists (like you?) like to link up minorities (here: gays) with their (your) left wing agenda, but there are quite a lot of smart, conservative gays out there. This might shock you, as one of those guys even used to be quoted on one of the old Unibet MTTs:Richard_Grenell_insert_public_domain

But nice try and better luck next time, buddy! The info about those grind houses was definitely TMI...:speechless:

Yeah, it was so obvious this thread can escalate quite quickly. I don´t think anyone is going to change their opinions about gays no matter who says what in here. Better to just leave it as it is and focus more important things like gambling and sports :)

Why can't we just become one, and spread love, not hate? I read comments and i see right/left/up/down/around it sounds crazy. Does everything need to be branded as politics? Can't people just do something because it's the right thing to do? I for one can't understand how the majority of people can be constantly at war with everyone. In my eyes it looks really exhausting and it gets depressing. Maybe that's why we are spreading poison on this world. We are more inclined to go to war than find a solution, kinda ironic when we see ourselves as a smart species, when in fact we are running around in circle for milenia doing the same things over and over expecting another outcome. #MADNESS

Please stop this "stupid" nonsens.

Any Casino who get involved in Politics and \or something else than it is supposed to do will loose me as a customer, why?

1: A plase for gaming shouldent do anything of this "support", become just wrong.

2: I do compere that to any Country who mix Politic with religion, total madness.

3: This Community is not att all the place for discussions like that.

Keep on sharing and caring about what it realy is, Gaming :)

Nothing is impossible, the impossible only take some time.

The fact that a minority of the customers - a very small minority, considering the core markets - might not agree with a certain political/social stance doesn't mean that Unibet shouldn't do what they believe is right - they can do whatever they want, and if it makes you want to take your business elsewhere, you're free to do so.

If you -- or another customer - don't believe in the fact that we as a species can cause climate change - like mr. Trump - Unibet should stop their work to reduce the environmental impact? Imagine a world where companies never engaged in social or polical agendas - a ❤️♥️❤️ nightmare leaving everything to the politicans, and science, technology etc. would be so very different today. So much change has been driven by various individuals strong beliefs - which then became a core part of a company culture and purpose - and in my opinion the world would be a significantly worse place if companies couldn't contribute to the society in whatever way they see fit.

Or, is it only issues that you don't agree with, which Unibet should stay away from? When can they engage in something like reducing the environmental impact? - I'm really curious about your view on this, so hope you'll share your thoughts.

Fact is that equal rights for women and sexual minorities is still something that many people can only dream about - in fact, it's an issue in the majority of the world. I assume you agree with this? If you do agree that there're not equal rights for sexual minorities in the country that host the WC or equal rights for women in a country like SA, why is it an issue for Unibet to try and do something about this? - however little difference it makes.
