ofcourse not, but you will force the recs to play 100bb, because you can not handle the short stack regulars? is this fair? maybe you should learn how to play against smaller stacks....

``` But if you leave with more than 100BB, you're allowed to return with 100BB up to 5 times per day.```
hope you know how to play deep stacked Sweeedeeen.... this ist more difficult imo Very Happy
- MSS regulars will remain and become BSS regulars
- Recreationals will go to the casino
- You will go to dry your pants after playing with 5 regs at the table
Alright guys, given your view on things, I think I have to add a few more details on this one - your perception of things and reality are two very different things.
We've obviously looked at the data when defining these rules. No recreationals will be seriously impacted by this, in terms of their own gameplay, the rules are designed to make the experience better for recreationals. Recreationals simply don't rathole a lot, and with the 5 times a day, there's close to 0 negative impact on recreationals.
We do get a lot of complaints regarding shortstack regs (not only from recreationals), and we've got some players ratholing +1k times a month; often leaving when there's as little as 1bb profit.
This change will have a big positive impact on the games. Sure, a few won't like it, but that's intentional Smile
I don't really understand whats the big fuss about shortstakers, does really matter if they rathole or whatever, they still show up at the tables and in the end by adjusting you take everything back and more. In my opinion you should be able to join a table with 1bb if you want to or everything you have in your account, regardless of the stakes. Wink
The issues regs have with shortstackers is that they play for an effective stack of 50bb, while the others play for a mix of 50bb and 100bb. Although this is already infinitely better than the good old 20bb days, this means that the 50bb can drain EV from the overall game, without being exploited, while the bigstacks can't adjust correctly unless they're in SBvsBB with the 50bb stack.
Very simplistic: If 100BB CO opens, 100BB BTN has no way of correctly 3betting when SB has 50BB. If he 3bets his usual range vs CO, SB can exploit this as the sizing would be too big, and BTN would have to fold too often vs cold 4bets. If he would change his range/size, then he allows CO to exploit him.
secondary: I'm a big supporter of >100bb ratholing on the internet. It protects/prevents people from playing pots that are too big, especially on a site where you can't table select. In live poker one of the reasons has always been logistical, something you don't struggle with online.
I fear that if we implement these limitations, people will just stop sessions early when they won a few big pots in a row. Or they'll have to play the table hopping game where you open 10 tables to close the first 4/6.
@DaVitsche again, these changes are based on data Smile a ratholing reg ending his session early is what we want to accomplish, so not a bad thing at all Smile
We will not impact any recreational (or, you can count them on one hand, looking at a week's of data) Smile
@DaVitsche I personally don't care that much if you can start with 1bb, 100bbs or 1000bbs, ratholing, etc, as long as there are enough games running and rake is decent i will turn up to play everyday, but i feel like the traffic could get a boost by adding NL2. Lovekiss Unibet! In Love
When i say regs, I mean 100bb regs, not 50bb regs, because they need jeebus in their lives.
But yeah, if the limiting the amount of fresh stacks is what we need to do to reduce the shortstacking, than I'll gladly take that.
