Question for leaderboard hunters

I am wondering, does it really pay off to grind the tables every day in order to get high in bootcamp leaderboards (and other leaderboards too..) ?

For all of you that finish in top 30 :  Can you share with us, do you actually profit from it, and do you pay more rake than you get money from the promo ?

(1000 points = roughly €10 raked)

Or is it just a bonus money that you don't mind receiving (and doesn't really mean very much to you), and you'd play similar amount of hands anyway ?

It seems to me that it's somewhat hard to even get to top 250, so considering the potential prize and the stakes that i usually play, it doesn't really motivate me to play more just to get there.

Personally, I think it's best for people who will grind everyday regardless of promotion. The leaderboards are just an added bonus on top of the daily grind. If you're not motivated to play more, just play what you feel comfortable with. There will always more promotions in the future, & you might find another one that suits you better.

I debate
Should I smile like everything's good and pretend that life is great
Or should I let the world see the real me and not hide this pain
I tried to be like the rest of y'all, sorry I just can't
I'ma probably die this way

On microstakes it's tough and maybe not really worth it, right now we're probably going to get €75 after 60 hours of playing 8 tables 10NL. So that's around 15% of what we raked.

And the only reason we're up there is because we managed to get 4 straight flushes. Without those it would "just" have been €35 extra.

If you play NL100-NL200 everyday for a several hours, you will be around top 20(without straight flushes), so it is a small bonus for me. At 2015year one week i was top1, and it was not fun for me and dont worth it, because i was tired to play so much.

But games become harder when bootcamp promotion is going :)

So, i dont like bootcamp :)

This is all worthwhile feedback for us, whether negative or positive, so if anyone else has taken part in the promotion and has any thoughts on how it affected their month then please feel free to share.

The first time we ran Bootcamp (this is the third time) it had a really positive effect on the games and generally received very positive feedback. The feedback has grown slightly less positive each time and so if it were to come back again I think we'd definitely have to make some changes - however, everytime we run the same promotion more than once the sentiment is only going to get more negative, and so the aim is to not repeat promotions too often anyway. We measure the ecology of the site on an ongoing basis and almost all cash games stakes are currently better than they have been (if you're measuring how loose or 'soft' the games are) than at any time in the past 10 months. However, we're not playing in the games ourselves and if someone says that the games are tougher during Bootcamp then we can't disregard that. Obviously sample size is key though so as I said, the more feedback we get from different players at different stakes, the better.

When you run bootcamp first time it was more positive, because here was no too much players and it was not so hard to get top positions :) But I think you should try do much more against screen scrapping etc. Of course now it is a very big problem on many poker sites, but you need to pay attention. Fraudsters are showing ingenuity sorry about my english :)

I play SnGs on three sites and the chase for the Leaderboard which I just noticed caused me to play a bit more on unibet to stay on it.

If you received points for flopped open-end straight flush DRAWS that don't come in and you lose the hand  I would be in first :(

Enjoyed it.

I found in last years bootcamp I could get one straight flush at NL4 and play a couple of hours each day and reach the bottom end of the leaderboard, i didnt feel that was possible this time round and felt I would need to put too many hours in just to get the bottom prize, so I didnt really attempt even that this time round.

You can exchange UO tickets again all is unicorns and rainbows in Unibet land.

Any promo that gets repeated looses its initial buzz the second time around.  I feel this Summer Bootcamp has dragged on a little longer then it should have.  I feel direct hard hitting promos that are short in duration are more effective.  Although I'd never ask for a reduction in promos the fact is Unibet offers promo's 12 months of the year and players over time stop thinking of SNG Leaderboard, Cash game leaderboards as promos but as an expectation.

The MTT promo's have a stronger impact because they are shorter which brings up the intensity and relevance of them.

I also don't like SNG and Cash game leaderboards running at the same time.  Perhaps 2 weeks of one and then 2 weeks of the other would be more effective.  If run like that you could double the prize pools of both at the same cost yet players would have more incentive to take part.  I understand that this is a slow time and the bootcamp sort of asks like how a prop player would to keep more games running.

Another part of it is that we don't have much spare dev time at this time of year.  There's a lot of work going into a long term project, and a lot of people off for parts of the summer.  That's the initial reason that we made the bootcamp run for two months last summer, but we probably could have avoided it to some degree this summer.  Next year we'll definitely do something different, though that'll probably include bootcamp for one month.

We had the Euros this year, which hides a lot of the seasonal decline for us (but not for sites like PS who don't have a big sportsbook to get people in from).  Next year there won't be a big tournament to help.
