Question about Unibet.fr & where to play poker in the EU

Do you have to live in France to create an account on Unibet.fr? Or can I register with a german address?

I d like to play some qualifiers for the Unibet Deepstack Tour and they are only offered on Unibet.fr.

Another question is about where you are able to play Unibet Poker in Europe.

I found that topic: https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/Help-Support/On-tour-without-Unibet/m-p/13184

I just want to know about Poker. Casino etc. does not matter for me.

The countries, that matter most for me, are Portugal, Italy, Island, Croatia and Greece.

It would be great if someone of the Unibet staff could reply or give a link to an offical document with all countries that are available for poker e.g.

Thanks!

Seconded for the deepstack from the UK. I was quite surprised that it wasn't more widely advertised outside of France and that no qualification routes existed on the standard website. I'm sure there's a reason but as a satellites obsessive I would have liked the chance to play them.

Assuming the Unibet french site is similar to Pokerstars French site, you should be able to play anywhere in EU outside of Belgium, Estonia, Denmark, Italy and Spain. You have to validate your account before playing which can be long and tedious.

Let's wait for official word from support though :smileyhappy:

you asume but you actually dont know.

dont get it why do you offer some answers even if you really dont know abything about that

french sites are completed splited between regulation : some offers game for the rest of the U.E as Winamax and Pokerstars.fr and some offers games for french juristrictions as france and all french teritories.

Unibet is is in the second categorie and they offer games only to french citizens or of course people who have french id s.

That's why I said let's wait for official statement.

Don't understand why you reply negatively to a lot of my posts. You've done it many times. Between complaining about Unibet being rigged & having a negative attitude overall. Please be more respectful.

Calm down, guys. Thanks for your help though. I did some inverstigation and found out that you need a french address for Unibet.fr :smileysad:

I m still struggling to find any source for information about where you can play poker in the EU.

, you are playing from Canada, right? Is playing restricted to certain territorities or can you play just everywhere as long as it is in Canada?

I'm playing in Canada. You can play anywhere here. Most professional grinders (Randy Lew/Nanonoko, etc) have moved to Vancouver because it's ranked one of the best cities in the world. Lots of casinos here also if you want to play live.

countryes with their own player pools are : Spain , Italy ( players are playing between them and not with the ROW ) , France ( with those 2 segregation : 1. playing only with french ppl 2. playing with European countryes as Winamax or Pokerstars.fr but with some countryes restrictions as Romania ) , UK with open international player pool.

USA is known as they cant play only in 2 states or maybe 3 .

In Europe many of European contryes are trying to get legislation and some of the closed online poker till they will get a new legislation as Portugal .

But every poker room has a black list or grey list so if at one poker room 1 coutnry is forbidden it might be ok to another one.

All you have to do is to chat where do you want to play and ask for allowed countryes.

Guys let's keep it civil and respectful, there's no need to turn members trying to help into a bad thing, we can't all be right all the time :)

It's correct that you need to live in France to play on the .fr site, if you live in Germany you should make use of the .de site. On Unibet it works the same for a lot of countries, e.g. we have the same for Danish and Swedish customers, who need to sign up on .dk and .se respectively. I hope you found the answer you needed(even if it wasn't the one you wanted), if you wonder about anything else then don't hesitate to ask :)

@JeppeL, can you play on Unibet (poker) when travelling through Thailand?

If you travel through Thailand make sure to stay in tourist locations & avoid renting Cars/Jet Skis'. My buddy rented a motorcycle, some Thai resident drove into us while we were stationary at a red light & the police extorted us for a decent amount of money (Because we were foreigners & lots of corruption there). Will never go there again.

Wow, thats must have been a bad experience. I heard about the corruption over there and about the chaotic situation on the streets. I wont ever drive a car or a similar in Thailand as I still appreciate my life and don´t wanna die yet. :smileylol:

Still I hope to travel to Thailand in November and stay 1 or 1,5 months. Need to win some money before though...

I cannot guarantee it 100%, but it shouldn't be a problem to play from a Thai IP. There are no gaming licenses there, so your account wouldn't be automatically blocked like if you played from e.g. Spain which is a closed market. Make sure that your account is verified though before leaving, this would highly reduce the risk of having to send in documents in case it was blocked :)

Be advised though, that gambling is illegal in Thailand even if they have a hard time enforcing it, this goes for live poker games as well, which you might encounter there.

Personally I had an experience sort of lige Magicadil: Had to make a left turn down to the street our house was while staying in Koh Samui, two guys racing on bikes try to pass me on the same side as I'm turning. The first succeded but number two went into the front end of our truck and he ended up across the road with a broken bike. We took him to the hospital and he insisted we paid for a new scooter. Knowing how it works there, we decided to skip the trouble of going to the police and instead negotiated a "fair" amount and got done with it.

Canada's a little worse to play poker compared to the UK.  As Canadians have been banned from Betfair, PaddyPower, Genting, Titan Poker, 24h poker, Sky Poker and many other sites that I can't remember.  We are in the greyish area where are government really just doesn't care and lets us be which is great.  Wish we could still play on those other sites but it is what it is.

Where in Canada are you playing from? A lot of the sites that closed their doors for Canadians are part of the iPoker network. William Hill is another one. We still have the big 3 though. Stars, 888, & Unibet. Here in BC they even have their own government ran site, only for residents in the Province.

I think all of those sites are on the same player base so if you could find an ipoker skin accepting Canadian players it would work the same.

Have you read my blog HERE... It's long isn't it :)
