Challenge for Belgians !!??

they can find a way, just as they find a way to offer sportbook boosts or free tickets, just as bwin gives away free wpt tickets, ...

Even the weakest lawyer could find a hole in this ruling.

For example: poker does get taxed here as income, opposite to casino games.

This fact alone is more then enough to claim that the ruling does not apply to Belgian poker players.

they have dissapointed their belgian community, fair and simple.

Unibet should do something:

1) Give us a perspective when this will be solved

2) Talk to their community and involve us in the process what can be done with this legislation.

Pokerstars is still giving chests, isn't the gambling aspect of chests much higher and more addictive then louter rakeback? Talk to pokerstars why can they still give some form of rake-back?

----

In the long-term I think no-rake-back/promotion is n't good for poker, this will kill the dream of poker and the network effect.

@Jeroenvg Care to explain a bit more on the bolded? Personally I love the idea of Stubbe and the Poker crew doing no rake SNGs for the next while, som am wondering why you'd think they end up as being bad for poker.

@Lerre It hurts to hear you say that as that's obviously never what we want to have happen. When creating promotions, we have to follow the guidelines of our Legal department as we have no interest in operating in a way that disregards local law and regulation, both because of potential fines as well as the fact that we'd like to have a positive connection with the different authoratives in all the countries we operate.

Hello @Stubbe-Unibet ,

What's the news since April 2020?

Do you have perspective now, do you have plans or you won't do anything?

Pokerstars still offers rakeback (clothing, accessories, gift certificates) via the online store ... You were talking about an online store on Unibet, did you forget this idea?

You realize that at present, you are clearly the most attractive room in Belgium (I'm talking about poker)

No, the legislation hasn't changed and I'd say it's unlikely to ever change for the better, in terms of Belgian poker players being on same terms as everyone else.

The new loyalty system has first priority right now, and it won't change anything in this regard. Also have to be honest with you and say SNG's won't exactly be 1st priority either, when it comes to changes for Swedish/Belgian players - SNG's are the smallest game type we have and don't expect anything to happen this year

Can't you open like a shop where you can buy Iphones, Unibet t-shirts, charities donation, with our points instead of rake-back?
This can be a win-win situation and you'r not breaking the legislation then; everyone happy. With doing nothing, long-term you will lose customers in sport-betting and poker.

I think that's to much effort just, if this law would be for whole Europe, a workaround would have been created but as long it's just for us we can forget it I am afraid :p

It's very sad because if you are a recreational grinder with a slight positive roi you don't move out of the country which is the only viable solution.

Tbh I do hope there will be a law for whole Europe so this issue get's solved :p

Please Unibet, take action, you are still my favorite broker, but you can't stay left behind, other major sport brokers are finding ways around it. Shouldn't be to hard to give us E-cash vouchers instead of plain cash to convert our points.

We are not actively looking for loopholes in the legislation, and if I understand you correct, this wouldn't be a loophole but a basic violation. The fact that other sites are scummy and shady isn't an argument for us going down that road as well.

The only thing scummy is that the majority of poker sites are accepting a legislation which was never punt to be intented on poker. Nothing wrong with finding a loophole here.

I would understand your argument when it is about the protection of the players, where the law was destined for in the first place. This is not the case here.
