What are you missing in live casino?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Hope everyone has a great Friday. Wimbledon, where I am based, is boiling with excitement now with these last few days of tennis is coming up. Truly great two weeks in this part of London and I can easily recommend a visit.

Anyways, at Unibet we work closely with our game suppliers and live casino is no exception. Both Unibet and our suppliers have a lot of ideas and thoughts on how to further improve our offering. However - if anyone has any input in relation to the products we offer we'd love to hear it. For instance, it can be anything from "I don't like that button" to "it would be really cool to..". Are there any games that we are missing? Any features that would make life easier? Any promotions that you would appreciate?

I can promise that we'll read everything, discuss it and then we'll see what happens. Have a great weekend all - big sports Sunday to come.

Cheers, Fredrik

A tournament where blackjack players who play for smaller amounts have a chance to win.

The Saturday Table Games tournament favours roulette players because it is may be possible to hit a number 4 times in 20 spins whereas a blackjack player who wins 20 hands in a row will not win as many points as a roulette player who hits one number.

And the Lucky Win format obviously favours highrollers because it is about the highest net win in one hand.

Tournaments for  blackjack are tricky. We sometimes run them based on number of hands played over a given time frame which gives players a more even chance. We're looking at more interesting mechanics and always speaking to our promotions teams to see what we can develop. These things can take some time but watch this space :)

I agree, definately a cool area. What I have seen (in the industry) looks promosing. I personally think that augmented reality is something to watch - for instance, look at what happened at Nintendo just recently (link).

Yes .

I refering to the "top" cards like A, J, Q, K, they dont have pictures, so when you have limited time for thinking and have to guess what is on the table then..

Also the cards should look a little more what players are used to, look att the live BJ and Baccarat tables, the cards are what I describe, even on a high ress IPS screen it dont show easy what they are (IPS = FHD-UHD ressoulution 1920x1080 @ 70 hz uppwards)

That is the reason I have 0 history there, dont like to play when I also have to use loong time before I see\understand what cards I am dealt.

Nothing is impossible, the impossible only take some time.

That definately makes more sense.

So, when playing at Grande (Evolution) the symbols are like you describe them. I guess the intention there is to show as clear symbols as possible across all devices and connections but it also relates to functionality for automatically scanning the card value. Interesting comment so we'll have a think about it. If you prefer cards with pictures we do have that in Royal (NetEnt).

Thank you for input!

Should be easy enofgh to use a "standard" deck(s) of cards, just make them bigger....or something :)

If I walked inn to a IRL Casino and saw they used a card deck like that I would walk out ASAP ;)

I like to play many diffrent card games but my "brain" always multitask and try to count cards...not allowed IRL but it dont matter online, maybe that is why the cards are "strange", make it more difficult for "original" folks like myself lol :)

Nothing is impossible, the impossible only take some time.

To clarify a little further, another reason these cards are used is that all the cards contain barcodes in the centre which allows a sensor next to the shoe to read them and relay the information to our systems. This is how the system knows what cards you have etc.

In order to ensure these codes can be read clearly and avoid any errors, the area around them is kept clear, hence the lack of picture in the centre.

We aim to recreate the land based experience as closely as possible but in order to create a seamless online experience, there is sometimes a need to deviate from what would be common land based practice.

On another note, this is also quite common practice across many online card games and a lot of poker sites use the symbols only instead of the picture in order to aid easy recognition. I appreciate it doesn't suit all tastes.

Hope this helps explain why.

After I've "bet behind", there is no way to see which side bet it was that was mine. The tooltip could show which one's mine, or perhaps you could make the players own side bet coins another colour.

  • 7 months later...

Above all else a decent set of rules. No double after split? That's a most basic function in BJ and punch below the waist right away, but really players should also have the dealer check the facedown card when the visible is a 10/J/K/Q along with us being able to split more than once.

I mean come on... is it really neccessary to fleece us like this and nickle & dime every little margin? But as i said when it comes to the single issue of DAS that's crosssing the line and completly unacceptable. I'm only playing Baccarat at Unibet my Blackjack business is already handled elsewhere.
