Mistake in live betting

Hi,

I was playing Carribean Stud Live. Was dealt Ten+Ten+3 other cards I can't remember. The dealer then by mistake pulled out 6 cards when he was collecting the cards for his hand. Instead of allowing me to bet you voided the game?? This can't be right?? I wanted to bet as I had a pair but was not allowed to due to a mistake on your end...

Hi @JoffaD, welcome to the Community :)

That sounds about right I'm afraid, in case of a mistake the bets are always voided and reset as keeping it going it would be unfair for the rest of the player who didn't have a hand in the first place.

This happens as well in Roulette for example when the ball doesn't make 3 complete revolutions around the wheel. All bets get postponed to the next round. It's a an action that is taken keeping in mind the collective good and at the same time makes sure the game is dealt and played properly.

The reference to the roulette problem is very different as in that case I, as a player, haven't been "dealt" anything.

A more comparable situation was if I played roulette and had heavily bet on number 8. The dealer spins and the ball lands at number 8 (after taking 3+ rounds on the table) but then the dealer by accident pushes the table so the ball jumps over to number 9. Would the casino then void the play? I can't see this as being acceptable?!

What I am saying @JoffaD is exactly what is mentioned in my post. If there is an error, the bets get voided due to that error. Not going into specifics here as the "what if's" are endless.

Not sure if what you are saying above ever happened and the reason I picked my example is because I've seen it happen a couple of times, thus a real situation that might occur out of a human error. Pushing/knocking a roulette table so hard that the ball jumps out of it's place to another number seems to deviate this conversation of ours into obscurity, I'd rather keep it closer to reality.

It's semantics, what I am saying is exactly what you can read, if there's a human or even technical error, the bets get voided or reserved to the next valid round and it is the fairest thing to do for all of the players involved although there's no disputing that some players might consider that they had a fair chance to win.

OK, thanks for comfirming this (and thanks for your answers).

I'm sure the roulette thing have never happened so bad example from my side. I just wanted to point out the difference in voiding a game before anyone have actually been dealt anything or not.

I'm still kinda shocked this is actually the rules...If I were at a live casino and had a bet of EUR 500 on a Black Jack table and were dealt a Black Jack with the dealer showing a 6 as face card I would be very upset if the casino voided the game becuase the dealer by mistake pulled 2 cards out of the deck, instead of just one, when he was dealing his second card to himself...

Anyway, thanks again for confirming and I guess I've played my last live casino hand at this casino

I can't say I blame you for feeling this way, putting myself in your shoes I'm sure I would be feeling the same. An error is an error regardless of it's origin and it's an inconvenience for the player and for us as a company as well. We have providers which, well, provide us with the Live Casino product and we, of course, take full responsibility as contractually bound partners with these providers but there has to be some sort of fair resolution to such a mishap that you experienced. The same product is available on multiple sites besides Unibet, it's not something that happened exclusively with us, but I realize that doesn't do anything for you. What I can do, and I do it gladly, is sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.

Best regards
