EACH OF THESE HANDS APPEAR TO BE MISFORTUNE: HOWEVER, THEY ARE IN FACT FULLY WITHIN theMachine’s CONTROL.

4 TICKETS PAID: 5 PLAYERS REMAIN

theMachine IS COMFORTABLY SECOND IN CHIPS, THE SHORTSTACK SHOVES FOR 2.5BBs, theMachine HAS QQ, WHAT IS THE CORRECT PLAY?

  • FOLD  Possibly a touch too tight given your analysis.
  • CALL  Possibly correct given your analysis.
  • RAISE Nay, nay, and thrice nay.

theMachine OPTED TO CALL. THE REASONING: THE CHIPLEADER WAS IN THE BIG BLIND & HAD BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN RECENT ORBITS SO WOULD INEVITABLY CALL TOO, INCREASING THE ODDS OF ELIMINATING THE SHORTSTACK.Good reasoning. THE BIG STACK DID INDEED CALL BUT THEN BET OUT ON THE 375 FLOP. theMachine OPTED TO CALL: THE REASONING: STILL WITH PLENTY OF CHIPS BEHIND, A STRONG HAND & EVEN IF BEHIND AS LONG AS ONE OF THE BIGSTACKS ELIMINATE THE SHORTSTACK theMachine WILL WIN A TICKET.  Again a reasonable assumption. THE TURN IS A 3 & THE BIGSTACK BETS AGAIN, NOW FOR A MORE CONSIDERABLE PORTION OF theMachine’s STACK. theMachine OTPED TO CALL. I would assume here one of your memory circuits is malfunctioning, stack preservation is the overriding priority, especially when shorter stacks are in danger of falling. You must NOT put your stack in danger when your coc is so good.THE REASONING: theMachine WAS NOW LOCKED INTO THE LINE THAT AT LEAST ONE BIGSTACK WILL ELIMANATE THE SHORTSTACK OF THAT theMachine IS AHEAD THE WHOLE HAND. LOCKED INTO THAT LINE theMachine GOT ALL THE CHIPS IN FOR THE RIVER & LOST EVERYTHING. Just because it is a short stack does not mean that it is a poor hand and will fail, short stacks have been known to shove with good hands, or even hit the flop with rubbish.Once the big stack enters the hand the shortstacks holdings are totally irrelevant, you are playing the big stack and should act accordingly.

4 TICKETS PAID: 5 PLAYERS REMAIN

theMachine IS CHIPLEADER, THE SHORTSTACK SHOVES, THE STACKS ARE CLOSER, theMachine HAS QQ, AGAIN: WHAT IS THE CORRECT PLAY?

  • FOLD   Yes.
  • CALL   No.
  • RAISE  No.

theMachine OPTED TO CALL. REASONING: theMachine CANNOT BE ELIMINATED BUT CAN WIN THE TICKET IMMEDIATELY WITH WHAT IS LIKELY TO BE THE BEST HAND.Totally correct reasoning as far as it goes, but it didn't go far enough. Where was your reasoning as to what would happen if you lost the hand. AGAIN: theMachine LOST & WENT FROM BIGSTACK TO SHORTSTACK.You could have forseen this with deeper analysis. WITH A SHORTSTACK theMachine WAS FORCED TO ACT, LOST A FLIP & LOST EVERYTHING. Totally forseeable.

2 COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY NIAVE CALLS HAVE ESSENTIALLY TRASHED 2 LOCKED UP €5 &  €10 UOS TICKETS. theMachine CANNOT WARRANT FURTHER TICKETS IF FAILS TO FOLLOW CLEAR GUIDELINES & OPERATING METHODS.

I had posted in my blog the dangers of playing on the bubble,in my case with AA,in an effort to warn players of the pitfalls, however I cannot be held responsible for faulty memory circuits and hope yours have been upgraded as a result. Harsh lessons have been learned and I'm sure you won't make the same mistakes again, I haven't...............yet. Lots of other mistakes, yes, but not that one.

AS A RESULT theMachine WILL DO WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE DONE ALL ALONG:

Screenshot_20190408-090839__01.thumb.jpg.3ac0fe4e5e10303ba4ab29cd87958da5.jpg

You don't have to fold everything but you have to fold a lot more than you'ld think.

TAKING TIME NOW TO RECHARGE & RESET AHEAD OF theMachine’s SCHEDULED UNIBET_ONLINE_SERIES EVENT#28 THE €50 PLO ON 26/04/19.

Good luck.:geek:

THIS IS EXACTLY theMachine's POST GAME ANALYSIS: theMachine WAS AWARE IN GAME OF THE CORRECT ACTIONS TOO BUT MALFUNCTIONING CIRCUITS INTERUPTED A CLEAR LINE OF ACTION.

IT IS THE GRINDING. GRINDING PLAYS HAVOC WITH theMachine.

AFTER SECURING €175 OF UOS TICKETS, theMachine HAS NOT BEEN AS DEDICATED OR DRIVEN TO ACRUE MORE IN THE SAME MANNER AS BEFORE. HAVE TAKEN MORE HIGH VARIANCE APPROACH RECENTLY, WHICH AS WE KNOW FROM THE BOOK IT NOT THE OPTIMAL PATH.

@theMachine A good start can be almost as bad as a bad start, either making you more reckless believing you're running so well, or making you relax your efforts believing you have done enough. Both assumptions are false. You above all people things should know this, reset the emotion circuits after every tourney.

Good luck decision making.

@MadAdo

Disclaimer: I'm probably the wrong person to ask for advice on cash strategy, at best I'm only a break even player over the years. I probably play too tight at cash and get frustrated when finally hitting a big hand, everyone folds or hits their draw and I rant and rave with the best of them. I finally seem to have found a format that suits my style, but different formats require different strategies, and overfolding in cash games will not make you a winner imo. There are plenty of better players to get advice from, maybe start your own thread on that specific topic, could be interesting.

Good Luck. 👍

UOS:5_HIGH_€50_EVENT#28_POT_LIMIT_OMAHA

THE GREAT GAME OF POT LIMIT OMAHA IS theMachine’s GAME OF CHOICE: AFTER MUCH ANTICIPATION theMachine FINALLY GOT THE UNIBET_ONLINE_SERIES_5 UNDERWAY

ANOTHER ONE OF theMachine’s FAVOURED POKER BOOKS IS ‘Every Hand Revealed’ by Gus Hanson. MIRRORING THIS: theMachine WOULD ATTEMPT TO RECORD THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT FOR PROSPERITY. ALAS: THIS WILL NOW HAVE TO BE USED AS A LEARNING TOOL INSTEAD…

STARTING STACK 6000: theMachine JOINS THE TOURNAMENT WITH BLINDS AT 30/60: UTG+1

5926: FOLD

A46T: FOLD

2672: FOLDED BB AFTER RAISE & CALL

5678: CALLED RAISE FROM SB, CHECKED AJ2 FLOP, CHECK FOLDED 8 TURN TO 2/3 POT RAISE

AQ39: FOLD

Ad Qd 6h 9s: OPEN RAISED 2.5xBB, SMALL BLIND CALLED. FLOP 2d3c5c. FOLDED TO HALF POT DONK BET FROM SMALL BLIND.

46TQ: FOLD

99K8: FOLD

Screenshot_20190426-200801.thumb.jpg.007bfaacfce0d5b31fb49c3532937621.jpg//KEY_HAND_1:

As Ts Qd 5d: ACTION FOLDED TO SMALL BLIND WHO RAISED 2.5xBB, theMachine CALLED FROM BIG BLIND.

FLOP: J8A. SMALL BLIND CBETS HALF POT. WITH TOP PAIR, GUTHSOT & POSITION theMachine CALLS.

TURN: 6. SMALL BLIND BETS HALF POT AGAIN. theMachine’s HOLDING IS LOOKING LESS STRONG NOW BUT CALL AGAIN.

RIVER: J. SMALL BLIND CHECKS. THE JACK LOOKS BENEFICIAL TO theMachine. TWO PAIR HANDS HAVE MOST LIKELY BEEN COUNTERFITTED, NO DRAWS GOT THERE BUT theMachine’s HAND IS GOOD FOR SHOWDOWN? NO.

A3J9: FOLD SMALL BLIND TO A RAISE

85K9: FOLD

AJQ4: CALL MIN RAISE PREFLOP. 3 HANDED FLOP OF AJ7, CHECK, CHECK, theMachine BETS 2/3 POT & TAKES IT DOWN.

K549: FOLD

76TQ: FOLD

Ts6sQc4c: BUTTON GOES ALL IN FOR 2.4xBB, theMachine CALLS & LOSES

AK63: FOLD

K695: FOLD

Screenshot_20190426-201543.thumb.jpg.d6e84fd5368803bd9956bfd9069ce30f.jpg//KEY_HAND_2:

4678: OPEN RAISE FOR 3xBB FROM CUTOFF, THE BUTTON 3BETS TO 10xBB, theMachine CALLED. AGAINST A 3BET OUT OF POSITION theMachine CONSIDERED FOLDING, HOWEVER, THE 3BET LIKELY INDICATES A HIGH CARD RANGE MAKING theMachine’s HAND EASY TO PLAY DEPENDING ON THE HIGH/LOW FLOP TEXTURE.

FLOP: Ad Jd Tc. NOT THE REQUIRED FLOP TEXTURE. theMachine INTENDED TO CHECK FOLD BUT THE BUTTON CHECKED BACK.

TURN: 3d. DESPITE THE FLOP HAVING THE BUTTON’S RANGE ALL OVER IT, THE CHECKED FLOP CONFUSED theMachine. SURELY THE BUTTON DOESN’T HAVE THE FLUSH DRAW OR WOULD HAVE CBET? theMachine DECIDED TO TAKE A STAB AT STEALING THE POT BETTING A THIRD POT. THE BUTTON CALLED.

RIVER: 4h. theMachine HAS BACKED ITSELF INTO A CORNER. THE BET ON THE TURN WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH TO FIRMLY ESTABLISH OPPONENT’S RANGE. NOW FACING EITHER GIVING UP ON THE HAND OR GOING ALL IN TO POSSIBLY FORCE OUT TWO PAIR HANDS, PERHAPS A STRAIGHT OR EVEN WEAK FLUSH. WILL OPPONENT FOLD THOSE HANDS? theMachine GAVE UP THE HAND & LOST TO PERHAPS THE ONLY HAND theMachine COULD HAVE FORCED TO FOLD. MOST LIKELY theMachine SHOULD HAVE GIVEN UP ON THE HAND AFTER THE FLOP WAS DEALT.

4433: theMachine LIMPED IN UTG LIKE A HAPLESS SPAGHETTI. DESPITE THIS WEAKNESS, EVERYONE FOLDED. THE BIG BLIND CHECK FOLDED TO A HALF POT BET ON 259 FLOP.

Qd 8d 8h 5h: theMachine CALLED A MIN RAISE FROM THE BIG BLIND. FLOP: 2h 4s Qh. theMachine CHECK CALLED A 2/3 POT CBET WITH TOP PAIR & FLUSH DRAW. CHECKED DOWN A TURN & 5 RIVER. WON THE POT.

9564: LIMPED FROM SB VS BB. CHECK FOLDED ON 89Q FLOP.

A66J: FOLD

85K4: FOLD

3789: FOLD

6TT2: FOLD

QKKJ: UTG MIN RAISED, ALLOWING BUTTON TO GO ALL IN FOR 3.7BBs. theMachine 4BET TO ISOLATE BUT LOST AGAINST BUTTON’S AA28.

AK94: FOLDED TO POT RAISE

33TJ: FOLD

QQ93: FOLD

9s 8c Ts Kh: 4-HANDED, theMachine RAISED 2.5xBB UTG, TWO CALLERS. FLOP: 5h 8s 2s. ALTHOUGH theMachine HAD TOP PAIR & A FLUSH DRAW, CHECKED, AS DID OTHER PLAYERS. TURN WAS 4h, theMachine FOLDED TO BET & CALL.

Screenshot_20190426-202936.thumb.jpg.17ee53c9ff784d7454dab9788aff3ff2.jpg//KEY_HAND_3:

3d 5c 4s Kh: FOLDS TO SMALL BLIND WHO LIMPS IN, theMachine CHECKS 354K IN BIG BLIND.

FLOP: 5d 5s 2d. SMALL BLIND CHECKS, theMachine BETS 2/3 POT, SMALL BLIND CHECK RAISES JUST OVER DOUBLE theMachine’s BET. THIS SURELY INDICATES THE SMALL BLIND HAS 5xxx HAND ALSO. EVEN IF IT IS 5Axx or 52xx, theMachine IS GETTING A VERY GOOD PRICE TO CATCHUP & MAKES THE CALL.

TURN: 6s. AS IT TURNS OUT, THIS IS POSSIBLY THE WORST CARD FOR theMachine. HAVING MADE A STRAIGHT, theMachine IS AHEAD OF ALL 5xxx HANDS EXCEPT 52xx OR 56xx, STILL WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE. GIVEN THIS WHEN THE SMALL BLIND POT BETS, theMachine HAS JUST OVER A POT SIZED STACK SO GOES ALL IN. OPPONENT CALLS & SHOWS 5229.

RIVER: 8h. theMachine DOES NOT IMPROVE & IS OUT IN 66th

@theMachine  cannot say too much to your play (not PLO OMAHA expert :geek: except of Omaha Hi/Low 😏) ... but my tiny comment to your KEY_HAND_2:

- as you already mention you should FOLD pre or check/fold until river!

- but not so bad as you played that besides that river check which is really terrible - you have no chance to win such a pot - your algorithm should already be aware of it! Based on TURN action you could try to steal again -> 2/3 pot or something more to keeping alive for this entry. Either you run into nuts flush (Kd Xd . .) or you probably won this juicy pot because I cannot imagine that villain will call with just 2 pairs (not top two) wich such a combo-draw board texture.

Nevertheless you played fairly good in this one, the KEY_HAND_3 is just a setup with really nasty TURN card for you!

DEFINITELY CAUGHT BETWEEN TWO GATES: GIVE UP / BLUFF IT ALL OFF

ORDINARILY, theMachine WOULD BE MORE INCLINED TO PUNISH WEAK SIGNS/PLAY BUT IN THIS INSTANCE [PLAYING IN A LIMITED HIGHER BUYIN EVENT] theMachine FAILED TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON INITIAL CALCULATIONS. CLEARLY A WEAKNESS RESULTING IN PLAYING ABOVE USUAL GAMES.

theMachine WILL BE SURE TO BLUFF OFF ITS ENTIRE STACK NEXT TIME

theMachine ENJOYS THE UNUSUAL DYNAMICS OF THE ANTES TOURNAMENTS BUT DID NOT PARTICULARLY ENJOY THE DYNAMICS OF THIS ONE. RATHER  THAN TAKE YOU THROUGH EVERY HAND PLAYED: ON THIS OCCASION theMachine HAS COMPILED A SHORT VIDEO OF SOME OF THE KEY HANDS FROM THE TOURNAMENT:

IF USING FOUL £#*%~¥& LANGUAGE & EXPLETIVES WAS A BEHAVIOUR theMachine WAS PRONE TO: THIS WOULD HAVE ELICTED SUCH A HIGH VOLUME BARRAGE OF OBSENCE AUDIO.

THE ADD-ON BREAK ENDED.

theMachine’s WHOLE APPROACH TO THIS EVENT WAS PREDICATED ON THE CONCEPT THAT WITH LATE REGISTRATION & ADD-ON theMachine SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEEMLESSLY REACH THE MID WAY POINT OF DAY1 WITH APPROXIMATELY 18000CHIPS, EQUATING TO 36 BIG BLINDS, A SUITABLE STACK FOR THE STAGE OF THE TOURNAMENT. DUE TO THE UNFORSEEN TECHNICAL ISSUES theMachine INSTEAD CARRIED ON WITH JUST 14BIG BLINDS.

Ah8h: MID POSITION MIN RAISED, THE CUTOFF CALLED, LOOKING LIKE A +EV SPOT TO SQUEEZE: theMachine OPTED TO GO ALL IN FOR 12 BIG BLINDS. IT WAS NOT A PROFITABLE MOVE. THE CUTOFF CALLED WITH AJ & ELIMINATED theMachine IN 322nd PLACE.

nano/micro/MEGA:BLOG WAS CREATED TO CHART PROGRESS USING THE UNIBET_ONLINE_SERIES AS A SERIES OF BENCHMARKS. SO FAR EVIDENCE INDICATES A DOWNWARD TREND WITH INCREASINGLY UNSATISFACTORY OUTCOMES

theMachine SIMULATED OVEREXPOSURE TO THE DAILY GRIND OF SMALL STAKES WOULD RESULT IN BURNOUT

AS A RESULT: theMachine HAS LIMITED BLOG UPDATES TO THE TIMEFRAMES SURROUNDING UNIBET_ONLINE_SERIEII

HOWEVER: AS_YOU_HAVE_INQUIRED: theMachine_WILL_PROVIDE_UPDATED_STATUS_REPORT:

WITH A €100 SUPERNOVA TICKET LEFT OVER FROM UNIBET_ONLINE_SERIES_5 theMachine MADE A DEEP YET ULTIMATELY UNSUCCESSFUL RUN IN THE TARGET TOURNAMENT. DESPITE THIS FAILURE TO CASH: PROGRESS & PERFORMANCE DURING PLAY INDICATED theMachine IS CAPABLE OF MAKING THE MONEY IN THE SUPERNOVA EVENT & PLANNED TO REPLICATE THE SATELLITE SUCCESS OF THE UOS5 BUT IMPROVING ON CASHES OVER LARGER SAMPLE SIZE.

Screenshot_20181119-001141.thumb.jpg.96c9981e0745f5800f1f2170925614be.jpg

THE CLOSEST BRUSH WITH SUPERNOVA SUCCESS TO DATE

THE ISSUE WITH THE SATELITE GRIND IS ITS EFFECTS ON BANKROLL. UNIBET_ONLINE_SERIES_5 HAD DEPLETED theMachine’S BANKROLL. SO BEFORE theMachine’s QUEST FOR POKER DOMINATION COULD CONTINUE, theMachine HAD TO REBUILD AN ADEQUATE BANKROLL.

USING ACRUED BONUS POINTS: A SUCCESSFUL GRIND EMPLOYING A ROTATING MIXTURE OF CASH GAMES, TOURNAMENTS AND SIT_&_GOS HAS BEEN VERY PROFITABLE. LEADING theMachine TO RECALCULATE THE VALUE OF CHASING SUPERNOVA GLORY WHEN SMALLER GAMES CONTINUE TO PROVIDE DEMONSTRABLE PATH TO PROFIT WHEREAS HIGHER STAKES CONTINUE TO DRAIN RESOURCE.
