Wow, I did not realice how long it was since I last updated this blog but its definatly time for it now!

I just got back from Unibet Open Dublin whish was an absolutly amaysing experience! The Irish people really have something special, its kinda like a fundamental happines within everybody that just make for a friendly and positive enviroment  I will find every excuse to go back there again!

The main event was not very exiting for me this time, being my third time playing live I got nervous, I didnt know what to do with my hands, the chips, where to look, how to sit or how to play :happyshy: That was suboptimal and I ended up playing a very passive fit or fold (or fit, check back then fold:scared:) game and busted just after the dinnerbreak on day 1b.

It always sucks to bust but wasnt to upset, given my performance. But I was just starting to feel a bit more comferteble and really wanted to play more. Luckely there is a lot of side events at UO and I ended up way more succesfull in the ladies event Queen rules the next day

Queen rules is a special kind of ladies event that is hosted by Unibet ambasadour Daiva Byrne @balticblonde. Its a 80+10Eur Bi, fullring NLH & plays just like any normal game with the difference that queens rank higher then kings. That means QQ>KK and a nut straight would be AQKJT, also KJT98 is a straight while QJT98 just means you have a busted straightdraw and Q(K) high. The background for this initiative was a question from a little girl that asked her parent why kings ranked higher then queens, a perfectly understandeble question from somebody yet not affected by gender biases ❤️ The idea got picked up and Queen rules has now been runned succesfully several times of which I been fortunate enough to take part three times 😀

I might have a slight advantage remember the change in ranking since it got forever burnt into my mind after my bust out hand i Bucharest where I got Boat<Boat holding KQ on KQ58K when my opponent had QQ :wow: GG

Anyhow I really like the Queen rules initiative and the field is a mixture of new players like myself, experienced crushers and some that are trying out poker for the very first time! But its all set up to provide a less thretening athmosphere which is amaysing and really opens up a passage for more females to dare to try and fall in love with this wounderfull game  We also get cupcakes and prosecco.

I never had any alcohole while playing before and I would not recomend people to do that but being as uncomferteble and nervous as I am live I can say that 1,5 glas of sparkeling whine made me way more balanced 😉 I started out loosing 1/3 of my chips unsuccesfully trying to bluff people of top pair, then I bad beat another lady and I was back in the game. And I finaly felt comferteble playing, I was running really good which helps ofc but the important thing for me was that I dared to play my game  Nothing crazy ofc, I would never bluff (just so you know if we meet at the tables👼) but you know, ch raising the second nuts from time to time, that sort of thing 🆒

When we got to the final table there was photos taken and we then got to play a intense hour or two bubble since only 7 would be itm. Unfortunetly Djarii that was one of the chipleaders at ft became the bubbler after getting some really bad beats and then got coolered KK<QQ.

I had a decent stack, somewhere in the middle and with quite polarized stack distrubutions and with the two big stacks to my left, I didnt play much for a couple hours. I think we where five handed when one really tough opponent, a frech woman with >300k in live cashes opened in the co we where 20-24ish bb effective with me covering her a bit and I acted like I never have before and then reshoved my aces from the big blind managed to get her to call with pocket fives. With four left and one really short stack I could accumulate even more & when we where down to three my rungood showed itself again when my pocket tens coolered Dehlia de Jongs nines.

The heads up was super intense, I faced the very competente french lady Magali Staal and we where really batteling it out, it lasted for almost three hours but I was really determent and kept focus and finaly took it down at 2 am

It was so big for me, facing my nervosity, not letting my fears get on the way of me playing my game and keeping focus during the 13 hour day I had the most awsome rail during HU, @Causality @Psycho79 @FeelsBadMan , hotzunico & maestro from the community/twitch chat was there cheering me on & I got so many congratz, hugs and awkvard handshakes that I was completly touched I have alot to learn and Im aware I make many mistakes but as long as I do the very best I can with the knowledge I have at the moment I am proud of myself

All and all, it was a freaking awsome Unibet Open in Dublin and I loved meeting everybody again or for the first time! Unfortunetly I didnt get the chance to meet @MetalWolf and Grizzler (who I for some reason also cant tag??) but big congratz on your deeprun @MetalWolf ! And hopefully I catch u next time ☺

Now Im super exited for the online series, Im still debating if I will go for the leaderboard or not but I looove leaderboards so it might be hard not to!

Good luck today everybody

Great write up and congrats once again! 😀  You did amazing considering live experience and having already played in the main! I wish I had railed you after I bust my event but I was literally shattered and I flopped into bed after a couple guiness with Grizzler and didn't even realize what else was going on around me haha.

All the best for this UOS! I'm going for ther nano and low ones.

Oh, and Grizzler is a bit sneaky and uses a 1 for an i so it's @GR1ZZL3R  to tag him lol

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments and support! It makes me so happy :D ♥️ @Psycho79 @GothMoth @UAC @frnandoh @4soul

The online series

Is PLO the future? Thats the question I keep been asking myself whenever the online series comes around. I know, I know its probably the insanely high variance in 6max plo that does it but since I love graphs and excell more then what is probably healthy I extracted all the PLO mtts I played during the last three UOS and found myself with a 211% ROI and a profit of 811Eur which is absolutly insaine considering my UOS results overall.

My boyfriend keep telling me its the variance and lack of skill in the field but I choose to interpertate it as if Im born with a particulary high intuition for omaha poker 😏 The truth is probably somewhere inbetween but encurage by the good results I might add some smaller plo turnaments to my grind outside the series since I think its really fun and I enjoy studdying it alot :)

Other then a newfound plo hybris the series passed by with very humbeling results, I won E50, a low PLO reentry and came second in the nano main event E81, AKo<A5o for 30 bb :wonder: I was planning on playing all the events and go for the leaderboard but ended up missing a couple of days traveling back to Sweden and spending time with family. Im pleaced to say that my intension to play them all made me take the nano mtt:s way more seriously, earlier series I reged them most of the time but usually just sat out and never tryed to accually play them. I must say I still find it hard to focus when I bust everything els and is left with a 10 cent rebuy but Im surely getting better at it :D I think its important for my poker development in general to be able to take all games seriously and play for the win even when the price is small, to keep diciplin and not focus on the price is important imo :)

I ended up 27th in the overall leaderboard with 1869 points, I think thats my worst result jet but Im already hyped for the next one, I will be better prepared, more diciplined and sometime soon I will take it down :D Im just gonna studdy some more first 😏

You shouldn't be too hard on yourself. 27th is amazing and the PLO results are incredible. Plus you got the entry to the big freeroll!

I've played 3 of the 4 series and this was my worst. First series I played I won the nano league and came 9th on the main leaderboard missing just 3 events. But this time round I didn't play the high, missed a couple events and could only manage 99th overall, 68th low and 31st nano or something like that. I hope to be much better prepared for the next series and I have some serious studying to do because I was not happy with my play at all.

Well played and best of luck in the freeroll!

Superb results @triceraatopp and well done. I saw you run 10e up to over 100 in the cash game challenge so it's definitely not all luck or variance, and as @MetalWolf will tell you, intuition can play a big part as well, so keep it going. Definitely the Queen for this year, staying there will be harder, best of luck. 😃

Thanks man and merry christmas

Hope to see you at the mtt tables soon

How come you playing the micro sngs? I might be wrong but I think the nano/micro mtts are infinete softer than the sngs.

Tryed out some Hexapro during the holidays and it was looking pretty good there for a while until it didnt anymore and I think I better retire before I have to add a minus staple to the diagram .. (lets pretend we dont see my 25Eur attempts)giphy.gif

Overall I liked it, great design and decent amount of 3-10x multipliers, I never hit anything higher then 10x but got 4.7% 10x, 12.8% 5x, 29.6% 3x, 57.3% 1.5x so got pretty much the amount of multipliers expected

I definatly see the apeal with the format and its fun and easy to construct preflop ranges but the variance is really high and I dont think it helps me improving my overall game so I better stay diciplined on my mtt grind leaving the hexaprostreets for the hexapropros!

Wow..for some moments your graph line were very high. I think you caught a good upswing there.  I think its a wise decision to let hexapros away and continue grinding mtts and improving your game. And that s true, a very high variance is involved into hexapros tables.

Good luck at tables

Inspired by all the new years challenges I got really exited about doing one myself :D

When I started this blog in february I had absolutly no clue what I was doing, my "studying" was limited to watching a runitonce video once a week and I played purely on instinct although trying to convince myself that wasnt the case...

WARNING FOR WALL OF TEXT

In the year that been I have improved alot both in poker and personaly, but Im only beginning to figure things out & 2019 will be all about progress! When I started this blog I was really sick, I had got something called adrenal burnout which is when the adrenals no longer can produce enough/regulate levels of corticol (the hormon needed the deal with anything) due to prolonged exposure to stress. I couldent dress myself, hadent been outside in weeks and the only social contact I was capable of was with my discord group. My whole life was turned up side down, I was used to a high tempo, finishing medschool while working as a jr dr on the side & attending every party/dinner/yoga class possible, but I realiced to late that humans dont function very long without sleep & after I crashed nothing was possible anymore, when it was worst just realicing that I would have to go to the bathroom to brush my teeth in a couple of hours induced a horrible stress reaction. And nothing helped. Exept poker. When I played poker I could disconect everything els and just focus on the hand, one decicion at the time, not reliante on or responseble for anybody and if I failed I only had to answer to myself. I could breath. And I started playing more and more poker and talked alot to the guys in discord @EL_HEFAZO @yarik_gr @Causality & Tim, playing together, studying and I loved it. Poker have everything that intrigues me, math, psychology, logic, intuition, competetivness. You need to work on yourself, take responsebility, be disciplined, creative, cuorious and most important, its really really fun :Veryhappy:

When I got a UO Malta package I was extatic, I had never been to a casino, or even watched a live game on tv but I had heard the stories in chat and Im extremly competetive so I knew I was going to love it as  much as I love playing online if not more, the extra dimension of facing your opponent exited me! Then I got nervous, really nervous, I had not been around people since I got sick and was still extremly sensitive but it somehow went really good :D I didnt beat the nervousity, my hands were shaking the whole weekend, I accidently limped atleast 5 times becouse I didnt understand how to raise and once I completly missed that my opponent checked, becouse I didnt talk or look at anybody during a hand, making for a very uncomferteble 5 min for the whole table :Speechless: But it still went fine and that was so much due to this community, there was a live blogg and I got so much wounderful support from people here and in twitch chat, so many good luck wishes and people rooting for and saying they belived in me  Its impossible to doubt oneself with so much support behind you, and I especially remember getting an extra confidence boost getting this one from @Want2Believe

After Malta I felt just as I did before Malta, I just wanted to play poker and thats pretty much what I´ve done :D

Now 6 months later I feel so much better, it will take time to recover fully but Im not in a hurry, I have found a new way of living and I just take things as they are.  As I said in the beginning I want 2019 to be about progress, 2018 I got back on my feet and now I am hungry to improve, I want to study harder, meditate deeper, keep my focus right and see where that takes me

In line with that my challenge for myself will be about handrewiewing. After every session I shall post atleast one hand that Im unsertain about and analyse it to the extent of my ability :) Starting tomorrow!

An inspiring story @triceraatopp if ever there was one, showing what can be done in life not just poker. 2018 was a really bad start for me personally but finding the UB community helped me enormously to get through some sad times. Apologies to a couple of other posters that I've missed mentioning on their health issues, but I really wish the best for everyone in the New Year* and still hope to meet you and others in person at some time. 😃

* Always ecept when sat at the same table.🤣

Your excel sheets are the best by far.👍

Same here @triceraatopp, I don't know why but I just feel that this year could be the best. It could be due to more motivation with challenges or more inspiration from some great new blogs, whatever it is I hope it works for all of us to lead on to bigger and better times, on and off the felt.  The live stop dream is still alive, just, so plenty of optimism still, gl in everything.👍
