I have promised writing a quality posts only, but it seems I can't keep that promise. So here are some thoughts about my first Supernova. I'm really tired, but due to the adrenaline in my veins I can't sleep awhile. But math first: I finished in the 30th place, 6 places far from the bubble and won nothing. My last hand was a real coinflip AJs vs. 88 when the blinds are 2400/1200 and I had a little more than 14000 chips. I was in the BB position, the small blind minraised and I reraised to allin. He got the third snowman on the flop next to my ace and the turn ace didn't help me.River was blank. So: I'm very sad finishing in this position, because I hate trying so hard and finishing so close to the bubble.More than 5 hours for nothing is a real terrible deal. I prefer the easy out in cases like this. I was wonder that the late registration lasts more than 3 hours long, that was a real gutshot for me. Btw i enjoyed the play and didn't find so hard playing on a 100 tournament. When you read that you could realize that whale of the table wrote the previous sentence. The difference between freerolls (my general buyin) and the Supernova is the little tricks, the reraises, the positional plays and yeah, the recognizing of another players betting lines. So I'm failed, albeit I have tired it so hard. I folded a fullhouse and flopped trips in the first (or in the first two) hour when enemy showed power. I think both decisions was good. I won some hands with small balls and won and allin with KK. Unfortunately the enemy has only 60% of my chips. Btw I have never had more than 41000 chips and the main problem was nobody doubled me up when I had aces in the fourth hour. I think that was the key moment. After that I folded and folded and tried to see some flops when I'm the big blind, but every time i faced with a raise and the flop never hit me.Btw I had the chance to double up twice with 77 and Aj but nobody called me. I think this is the main difference between freerolls and major events. I 4-beted twice with KK's preflop but none of the original raisers and reraisers called me. Well, I want to write the next time phrase, but I know there is almost no chance playing that tourney again.
I played my first Supernovae (let's use the correct plural here for once) over the last few months. First time I lost with something like KK to QQ and that sucks. You work towards the tournament, playing the satellites, just to go out like that. Second time I played, I finished 11th or so for a nice solid cash. Personally, I don't really see any difference in quality when you compare it to lower buy-in games. OK, maybe freerolls play differently, but let's be honest, freerolls are not poker anymore. The only difference is that the higher buy-in makes you feel uncomfortable, but that feeling goes away once you played a few times.
When is the best time to join the tournament? The last time, I joined after 2,5 hours. That worked fine for me.
Nothing but yammering
From 30 to zero with a speed record
I was really surprized when I saw a notification that i won a shared first place in the Wimbledon competition. I counted myself to the favourites til the middle of the week when I tried to chose a risky path and voted against the gang by the Ostapenko-Kerber match. It was a real do or die situation and the 3 letter word became my destiny. After that day I defered to lost the first place and used that topic like it's original reason, a big fun and global nonsense. So after the pointless column back to the title, albeit I wasn't lucky in the spin/raffle competitions- when there where 5 paid places in the fantasy game and I also finished fifth I lost the tie breaker raffle, when I won some free spins on HT freeroll flips didn't won anything with that, when I was so close to the money on Supernova didn't manage it, when the english guys needed only 30 minutes then failed etc- so I decided to win some money with that shared first place... but I couldn't hide before my shadows. So I lost some money when I tried to make a big win on slots and won some chunk of the casino promotion. Then I bet on Jaume Munar and guess what happened. He injured and played the rest of the match with half healthy leg. Then I bet Lemione/Waccano to win the second set after they won the first one and got break point in the second. Yeah, they failed. The only positive thing is that I received a Hlf Time/ Matchday freeroll ticket which was connected to world cup games, and surprize it will expire within 15 hours and of course there is no tournement in where I could use this. So having a really good news at the end, I will speak with a really helpful (sure, she is, no sarcasm) chat agent about transforming this ticket to betting freeroll one tomorrow.
I just finished my first 40 games on 10 cent ticket to €1 SNG MTT's and that was my best spent €4 in this year. I was so excited every morming when I checked if I won something via the middle of the night flip but the number of notifications never increased. Although the plan was earning at leat 4 tickets from this game thanks to my incredible anticipation and decent late position play I earned a fantastic number of tickets. Here comes the reality who give us the correct number, which was 2. Yes, that's true. After every 20 games I could make 1 ticket. I hope during the next 60 games till the magical 100 I could hold that enormous form and could make another 3 tickets. What happened with those 2 ticket? Of course I played them and lost it, so currently I made from €4 a zilch. See you after the 100th milestone game.
This time not, becasue I always delete the used pics, but I will post them in other format in the future. Thanks for letting me know that. The first column are the earned bounties, the second the you are finished at xy place and won nothing except 2 in where you have won a ticket and next to them you are finished 2nd in the sng and won nothing.:-)
I oughtn't to do this but I connected to live chat 2 days ago and asked the agent to check the translation of one sentence within the Terms of Conditions of the Moving On Up Promotion. My feeling was that the "Each player could win only one ticket a week" translation isn't equal to the official "Each player can only receive one cash and one SNG reward each week" sentence. Maybe I'm wrong maybe not, but I'm a very wart... err a very helpful.. ok, if I must chose then the first one is correct person. So the request was forwarded 2 days ago, everybody is happy, but they didn't change the sentence. That could be a delay but I hope they checked the translation again and found correct. I bet I'll never know the truth.
But why is this story so important? I opinion is that poker players prefer speedy things instead of slow happenings. I tried multi tabling when I found a single table action boring and to slow and i also wanted to cut the response time of players who used the time bank every time when they turn came. I think those speedy behaviour motivates the player who go allin every round and that greedy attitude inspired the poker rooms when they introduced their speed games. Long story short if I would ask a player which reward he wants to get a, €10 cash right now or b, €100 Supernova ticket which one he could use a week later I'm sure 80% of the poker players should choose the first one, because they could double up the cash at the tables and could also try their luck on the €10 Supernova qualifier. I think we could call this a true gambler attitude and here comes the conclusion. Unibet made a big mistake giving out the Unibet Online Series ticket so early, when there are no UOS events in the lobby. It makes many of players total confused, because they don't see how can they use the ticket and to be honest, earning someone which seems useless isn't good message from the company. I'm pretty sure it would have been better if Unibet had given out those tickets in the 4th week of the Moving On Up promotion.
