Recommended Posts

Ive been playing poker for almost 12 years now, back in 2006 i made alot of money playing cards and between 2006-2012 i Played Poker for living. I get a job between 2012-2017 so i stop playing poker for living and played just for fun. For about 3 moths ago i get fired from my job I had a saving for about 50000 kr which is around 5000 Euro which is now gone, made stupid deposit on pokerstars trying to make isildur run and didnt succes. My bills is around 1000 Euro a moth so my plain is to win 1000 euro a moth minimum if i succes i will be happy if not i will go to our govermont and beg for food and move home to my parents again. I starting this blog like a challange, and for me to have a self controll of stupid gambling misstake.

This is my starting roll on Unibet, I have little moiney on other sites also but this challange gonna be only on Unibet because here they dont have cheaters with pokertracker and stuff like that.

That big bill will force you to find also full 8-hours time job... you will not made it only from poker. you must have "stack behind" to cover the downs. GL buddy! Live your dream! Time after time to withdraw most part of the bankroll will disapoint you a little....

I know what you mean man, I had a roll 3 moths ago but im was so degen and lost it all on bad bankroll managent playing 1-2 dollars plo with 600 dollar deposit on and on again. I give poker a last shoot again and try too build my roll so i can use bankroll managment later.

Lets say I runs good in Januari and build my roll to 1000€ (I know its a big dream from the roll I starting from) I will withdraw 750€, 250€ to food account, 500€ to bills account and rest 250€ to grind.. and if I make only 100€ i will cashout only 75€. So always withdraw 75% of my roll if I make profit for the moth

this will force you to be everytime just so tired in repeting things....

And about that construction to 1000e bankroll....it's definally a 3 months work ( without destroying your rhytm naturally, safe and healty ) or even more.

As you can see in my challenge, it's preety hard, even when ure deep in bankroll. You must force then ....and that's even more risky!

You must grind all days long : more than 10 hours /day.

I've tryed this before years ago, and after 3 weeks , on every cooler just hit my mouse, tastature or the monitor...which it's a self damaging system do not destroy " your inside" 🤣

Why the bill is so big, where are you from? You live into a rent apartment or smth? Reduce all to minimum for first steps....

Yeah it will be hard so I will change my goal to have a profit moths instead, I starting with 5.93€ and trying to have more than that before the end of Januari. I have destroy alot och mouses too when im gets runner runner suck out when im deep on tournaments :P I just cant take it, how people that play bad can get reward in so important all-ins make me sick. Sometimes i understand Phil Hellmuth but i use to laugh at him when he gets angry at people haha ;D

Im from Sweden my bill its not that big but i need 1000€ every moths to have a living standard. My bills its like around 600€ include food for around 100€ a moth (I eat mostly cheap food when i feeling poor otherwise food cost its maybe 200€ when im eat like a normal human being in sweden lol)

Where are you from?

@Gofoh Look man your not being real, your still in dreamland. Your plan is flawed. Let me put some reasons why you will fail. First thing first u had a 5K life BR and put it all on the line, so zero discipline. You don't play for ages and expect to beat poker for 1K a month, thats kinda dreamy. You should of invested 500 or less in poker and the rest split like 3K = 3 months living expenses while you play poker if you get that far and if you fail no big deal u tried but now u have 1.5K and half a month to find a job and another month living expenses covered. I think its time for you to take some responsibility and be real with yourself, go find a job, save some money and try again if you really think this is the best for you. Either way now you know my opinion, i wish you much rungood. #xoxoxo

@FreedoM support my ideea, as you see @Gofoh....

He is also from Romania, a poor country where you can live with the smallest bill from entire europe... (Maybe 400e its enough)

But its so important to have second job...just because the pressure will be extremellly!

As the guys had written above. Leave the professionalism for this year and be a semi pro. Go to your local council and ask for some course. Tell them that you want to start a new life. Do the course and play poker 1-2 hours a day. If you will find our balance you can easily accumulate 5K in the end of this year and you will get a new qualification too. Next year you still will be able to start a poker grinder carrier without an extreme pressure.

Yeah I can fix some extra job later, why I dont want to work right now its because I have been missing the poker life and I gonna se if i can make it 2018 or if poker is dead. Its hard to build your bankroll when you cant play atleast 8 hours a day..back in the day in 2006 when I have no job I could play alot and build my bankroll from 0$ to 5000$ in 6 moths using good bankroll managment. But I fully understand you guys, I give this challange 18 more days if i dont succes to build som roll lets say atleast 100 buy-ins for tournaments on 2€ level i will quit poker.

DAY2: Update later

@Gofohi can assure you poker is not dead, but it's tougher this days to beat the game, because its so much info out there and there are young people that will put in the time in learning and the volume to play. So if you dont put the effort i can assure you it's a waste of time. Doing it for a living it's x10 or more times harder than fooling around as a recreational. I can tell you this because i did almost the same mistakes u did. And you do realize MTTs are high variance, if you really want to go aggro with the BR you should play 5man SNGs and do something like at €5 play the €1 when u reach €10 do a 2 x €2 and if you lose drop down at the €1 and you get the drill. If you get lucky and can bring your BR to €50 u can start playing regularly the €1 and go fast in stakes. Good luck and have fun!

Hello my friends! I hope you all having a good day. I have been grinding alot, freeroll hunting on other poker room and cashes 4 of 7 freerolls and made $1.67 from them, good money for tommorow to use in some micro tournaments. At Unibet I have play some freerolls and some regular tournament and manage to get 3 final tables, I also took a shoot on a 5.5€ tournament on unibet and bust late all in preflop with 77 against 66, if i have won that pot i could easly go to the final table there it was good money to win. but poker is poker.

Today my friend also help me to get a job, but its only on saturday on a warehouse, but its good money to earn when youre working on saturday, so from now and on I gonna play monday to friday, work on saturday and relax or play poker on sunday.

This hand when I bust, I was very happy when he call and almost cry when he hit 6 haha. But thats poker baby, I calm down, relax and play even better on other tournament.

@Gofoh I'm so happy for you that u got some income going your way, but i still dont like your decision making. You are too risk averse, you should be a little more conservative and make a plan how to go up.

I agree. Judging from the OP I almost expect you to fail @Gofoh – you have to learn discipline and apply Bankroll management. Playing 5€ tournaments without a bankroll is the opposite of that. As you can see you can even get it in really good and still loose the hand. It happens to me all the time, it happens to all of us. That’s why Bankroll management is the most important thing to learn. Without a proper bankroll you won’t succeed unless you get extremely lucky, but that’s degen thinking, so stop appying non-logic as logic!

Just my two cents!

Hello FreedoM and GamesDean thank you for your advice. I will have a plain from now and on. I have already forget about my pass losses. Now I will start like a newborn kid again. I will learn from my misstakes from the hard way starting with nearly nothing and try to ride my back to the top. I will play poker for atleast 40 hours a week and Studying Poker 5 hours a week. When I hit my goal to start grind cash games I will have a stoploss with 2 buy-ins per session and 4 buy-ins for the day. It means if I lose more than 4 buy-ins for the day I need to wait for another day. If I lose more than 15 buy-ins for the stakes I will go down the stakes.

I will also love to play some live tournament like Unibet Open. I gonna try to do some qualifier there and also try to qualifier for EPT Sochi on another poker room there I have some step ticket I can use. One day a month I will go to real casino to just play some cash games and hang out with people because its more fun to play live.

My bankroll plain will be like this
Less then 120€$ | This will be my gambling stages. Here I will mostly play tournaments from freeroll to micro limit tournament and some cashgames to clear January mission.
More then 120€$ | Here I will grind 0.02/0.04 tables
More then 300€$ | Here I will grind 0.05/0.10 tables
More then 750€$ | Here I will grind 0.10/0.25 tables
More then 1500€$ | Here I will grind 0.25/0.50 tables
More then 3000€$ | Here I will grind 0.50/1 tables
More then 6000€$ | Here I will grind 1/2 tables
More then 12000€$ | Here I will grind 2/4 tables

I don't know your poker strengths but i still think you should go with 5-man SNGs, deposit €50 and start at the €1 and when u reach €100 do a 10 buy-in shot at €2 and if you lose drop down and so on. It's way easier than cash games. Just be careful and think about it really good, a bad decision like this, could set you back weeks or even months.

Thanks for your advice freedom. The thing is I dont like sng my plain is to play cash games later.

Yesterday was a very bad day at Unibet and I get suck out every single hand when i was ahead and got some cooler aswell with top 2 pair against set etc :( so my roll on Unibet is now 0€ and its feel impossible to register on freeroll you have only 30-60 second before is full. On other site i manage to cash in 3 of 6 tournaments and 1 finaltable whre i finsihed 8 place. So now i have $31.46 on other site so i gonna play mostly micro limit on that room i have money and trying to register on unibet freeroll.

Now the coffe is on and its time to drink my coffe and start to grind. Today I will maybe only play 6-8 hours because I feeling a bit tired after yesterday grind when I play almost 12 hours. I realise i getting older and not a kid anymore who can play without sleeping. Today I will Play alot of 10-55 cent tournaments on the other room and if i manage to register on Unibet tickets freeroll it will be that also. Like always I will post my result after my last hand being played for the day or tomorow when im waking up.

:teardrop:

What did you play with that BR? I assume it was over your BR limit, but as an experienced player you know that can happen. But that's the past, let's focus to the future:

If you want to play cash games you need at least €40 but that's really the minimum and if you are strong enough not to open the second  and the third table. If you don't want to deposit then play the freerolls and don't forget the twitch ticket giveaways. Remember all the streamers and events (UO London is coming) in where you can get a ticket. Be a part of the twitter giveaways. Then check the freerolls. The best freeroll is the 18.15 CET but has the worst registration gap. Make a reminder 1 minute before the reg starts and click at 15.00 on the register button before the tourney starts. The most important is to make a plan: for example: -freeroll bounties-10 cent step it ups, when I won 10 of them I will play 10*€1 sng till I get €40 in cash game etc. Freeroll tickets-  I will exchange it to cash game ticket when I will have worth €4 of them etc), but the most important is: never gamble and keep yourself to the plan. Only make exceptions if there are special offers: fe: currently the Roland Garros money back guarantee offer is one of this type of offers. You can earn a free ticket without the risk of losing your money. The second most import is: allow time for your plan. That means the result will come within 3-6 months but the seeds needs sunshine before reaping. GL

@psrquack

You better save your energy, some people don't want to be rescued...

I started here with 40 Euro playing NL4, buying in for 2 Euro per table and worked myself up. However I think it would be smarter to use 30-40 Euro and play the 1 Euro SNGs. The level there is more than beatable, they always run and you'll always get some tikiets that you can turn into SNG1 tickets, thus the risk of going broke is not that high, even if you received a few bad beats here and there.

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

lul started with 40€ as well. good ole 4 stacks NL10 BRM though.. (so basically no bankroll management at all ^^) is the only propper way spinning up a roll quickly without wasting your time imho. Just bare in mind, do you really wanna waste multiple months with a 1.34€ hourly or sth? Yuk! D:

In some countries even 40€ is a lot of money. I don’t understand why you want to start at NL10 with just 4 stacks – play NL4 and play until 80€ (shouldn’t take you too long), then take a shot at NL10 with 4 stacks. If it works, awesome – if not, go back to NL4.

Theoretically, you can even play NL50 with just 500€ but you have to be very strict and disciplined about your bankroll management. You can’t chase losses, you can’t sit at the table after receiving a bad beat when you are out of shot money. This actually is a reasonable strategy to get a proper hourly as fast as possible – however, it doesn’t suit most players because you always sit with a large portion of yor bankroll at the tables and it requires you to have a really, REALLY good mindset.

Hello guys! Thank You for all your comments! I really appreciate you guys that wanting to help me. Ive been grinding alot on another poker room mostly $0.50 buy-ins tournaments with 90-180 players in and it have been going pretty well. I dont remember how much I play because I played 6 tables at the time and when I lose I register on a new but my guess is around 70-110 mtts on the last 2 days. I will love to play on Unibet too because I like Unibet the most, and I think they have great cash games here and you get back alot for playing. but its so hard to register on freeroll, When you remember to register, it's late and already full a little bit annoying. So its hard to build a bankroll.

Hello all! Today I talking with a friendly guy from Unibet and we discuss a little bit of how i feeling about me playing poker, and like you guys know im was a sicko gambler back then and Unibet wanna have responsible player so I accepted a break from Unibet poker for 3 months. So they will close my account on unibet poker for 3 months, but hopefully, I can come back and play here later. I will still be active here on this community to read all the awsome blogs but not been able to play poker on Unibet.

Now back to my grind so far: My poker grind have been up and down on P*ker*tar*, I get so many runners runners and river beats so it make me feeling sick on my stomach. Buts thats the life of poker, you need to take the beat well and not tilt if you wanna succes.

I now play $2.50 180man sng I moved up there when my bankroll reach over $100, its kinda swingy here, my plain is to grind $2.50 sng till I reach $2500 and then come back to Unibet and grind nl25 if they will open my account again.

I give this challenge 3 months so the deadline will be 23 April. If i manage to reach my goal I will withdraw my money from P*ker*tar* and come back to Unibet to play nl25.
