Thanks @ITSMEOKAY

I moved the entire session to two hours earlier because of the Rakeback Unibet Open Qualifier (Speedbusted after 10 minutes)

I finally caught a hot streak at the HU tables which brought me effectively back to breakeven. 5 Max went well as well but I lost a lot of headsups and didn´t get much volume so the ROI didn´t really go up

25€ 5 Max ROI after 1913 games: 1,1%
25€ Headsup ROI after 982 games: -1,2%
50€ 5 Max ROI after 84 games: 27%

25€ 5 Max ROI after 2011 games: 1,6%
25€ Headsup ROI after 1019 games: 0,1%
50€ 5 Max ROI after 90 games: 29%

Started the session nicely but it took a turn halfway. At least it felt like it did. I lost almost every Headsup and am really surprised that I turned a profit anyway.

Without the lockdown today would have been another day in the mountains

25€ 5 Max ROI after 2074 games: 1,5%
25€ Headsup ROI after 1024 games: 0,2%
50€ 5 Max ROI after 102 games: 36%

The session started with the typical 10 Buyins drop. The first 3,5 hours were rather awful, getting countless 30/70 spots and losing all my headsups. However I went on to win all of my flips in the last half hour.

I would probably reluctantly fold against an unknown but tbh I'm not really sure. Also ocasionally you see the sorts of opponent who shove almost any two on exactly the first hand because they think "well they always fold against an unknown on the first hand" or something like that 🤣

Im not an SnG player but i think its an easy fold.

Stealing blind with a PFAI in the 1st hand has no sense. He probably had some monster hand and wanted a call from an AT or stuff like that.:cash:

Or perhaps it is continued from the previous game and he is on tilt?

The session started nicely with an overabundance of winning flips. Little did I know that Unibet was setting me up for a three hour dryperiod that was yet to come. Plenty of 50s running but I ran rather 😞

25€ 5 Max ROI after 2136 games: 1,3%
25€ Headsup ROI after 1031 games: 0,1%
50€ 5 Max ROI after 113 games: 25,9%

My session felt a bit like this

I hope nobody here gets offended by a bit of dark humour.

Without further ado, here are the rants:

All this happened within the first 90 minutes. It took two full hours for me to win my first 5 Max game. After that things returned to normal but I couldn´t save the day anymore.

25€ 5 Max ROI after 2201 games: 0,8%
25€ Headsup ROI after 1049 games: -0,3%
50€ 5 Max ROI after 120 games: 26,6%

Yeah I hate it when you get one of those quick storms of runbad 🤣. Usually makes me tilted enough that I have to take a break, even if in absolute terms the loss of money isn't so big. And somehow it seems like the runbad always hits you at once. Maybe that's just the human brain seeing patterns where there are none.

No love for @Dennis_

I wasn´t intending to post any rants but when it wouldn´t stop I started taking screenshots again. So all of this was preceeded by countless coolers and bad beats and happened within one hour.

All of these are preflop Allins except the two were it states differently. Here we go:

I can´t stress enough how pissed I am. I got screwed over in all of March. Then I get one good week in April and now I am getting screwed over again. People will be breaking their laptops en masse if I ever get on the other side of this but for now I am left being the idiot in this ridiculous game

Thanks @CasuallyAwesome

I am realizing now that Poker has become 100% job and 0% hobby, even though I still enjoy the game as such. That is also the reason why I am grinding it out. Stretches like this have always resulted in me quitting the game alltogether in the past but that´s just not an attractive option this time.

I know our perception of the game is the worst way to determine how much we vary from our expectation but unfortunately it is also our only method. I cannot accept that I am running anywhere close to EV and 2000 games still only offer a 82% chance of being within 5% of your true ROI, so I am in good spirits again.

Have you considered trying to get some form of coaching as well? at the very least it reinforce that you're playing well, but probably learn a bit as well. If you subscribe for 2 months to the dude I mentioned a week ago, who streams on twitch, he gives a couple of hours of free coaching per week.

Also, another idea that might seem out there but I don't think it is, would be to go on amazon and purchase a self-hypnosis book. It's helped me enormously to stay completely focused on the session and not tilt almost at all, keeping myself in the so called 'flow state'.

25€ 5 Max ROI after 2243 games: 0,2%
25€ Headsup ROI after 1062 games: -0,3%

Just losing every hand. I could laugh about it but it starts to get a bit scary.

No rants today. There were plenty but they didn´t really differ from the previous two days. Instead I will post a variance simulation.

1853393306_Screenshot(1185).thumb.png.12f2bb58b7399071afbdfdc5c18842df.png

still within the 95% confidence interval for a 5% ROI player, which is also quite scary.

Following in the steps of @Brocky I have been going with 6Max hypers today. There are plenty of reasons for this, the main one being that it is a more suitable format for me as I like clear cut ICM decisions and there are plenty of them at hypers. However, the runbad on Unibet was not a reason for the switch. Quite the contrary, I would have liked to just grind it out but this seems like a smart change in every other aspect.

This is not the sudden end of this blog, it is however the end of daily updates on my successes and failures at the tables. My results can be followed here:

@Dennis_Good luck! I guess at the very least you can consider the rakeback as a set 'salary' depending on your volume. Just be wary of the card room you're playing, as it's a bit dodgy, hence why I moved away from them. (not in terms of payments, but in terms of allowing account sharing at the very least or maybe bots - you can read more on a different big forum)

Thanks for the advice @CasuallyAwesome

Meanwhile I am still getting crushed at SNGs. A big part in me wants to quit and never play the game again. After all I have run bad over a sample size that most amateurs don´t reach in a full year. I am basically sitting on minimum wage, devided by two, take away all the benefits of employement. I know that in another universe I am sitting on a doctor´s wage. That´s no relief though. I truly hate this game at this point in time.
