A blog about how not to play poker

How much have you left? 60-70 Euro? My honest advice here is to use those funds to buy into the UO2s, exchange your tickets and don't play anything else until you have 100 tickets for those UO2s sitting in your account. Then consider the next steps.

However I have the feeling you're already sitting at a HU cash game table waiting to shove all in...

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

That's terrible advice unless you want to be grinding for that package well past when you're a grandpa.

I debate
Should I smile like everything's good and pretend that life is great
Or should I let the world see the real me and not hide this pain
I tried to be like the rest of y'all, sorry I just can't
I'ma probably die this way

I was hoping for a nice showdown between us, didn't work out...

A few goals for the next week or so:

- Don't bet on sports (applies till the start of the Bundesliga)

- Don't play cash game, unless it's for challenges

- Don't play casino (most important one :D )

- Read the book "Essential poker math - fundamental no limit hold'em mathematics"

So much for the "don't play cash game, unless it's for challenges" goal. Just lost the entire balance in € 20 Banzai :D

Were a few fun players, so couldn't get myself to leave the table, and in the end I turned in to a very fun player myself :D

Was invovled in 7 flips, was a favorite in 6 and lost 6... Had a great all-in for two buy-ins with AKh against 3h5s, on the flop comes 33x...

Well, deposited another 150, so we're back at the beginning. Have decided not to deposit further this month, so hopefully that'll keep me off the Banzai tables, even though they're very good entertainment :)

Btw, Stubbernaut  Thanks for mentioning Banzai-games. I don't think I've enjoyed more playing single table cash games like tonight, like ever :speechless:

Wouldn't have even remembered that they existed without reading your blog/posts, GL GG! :atisfied:

@MathrimCshould probably play more of those than €10 SnG's 🤣

It's pretty much the same 10bb situation like in any tournament. Ranges vs ranges. Simple. Fast. Beautiful.

Woke up to a balance of € 38. Not exactly sure about how it happened, but guess some Banzai was involved. Can see the last tournament played was a € 10 UO where I got a huge stack early on and then fell asleep and finished third... This blog does live up to its name, a little too much for my taste in fact. First lesson learned: don't drink and play.

Going on vacation for three weeks on Tuesday, and plan on it being a semi-healthy one, so I promise the content on here will be better and there'll be less of these wtf posts. Will try and share more hands and the thoughts that led to the different plays.

I've come up with what I think is a genius way of not getting tempted by playing anything that's not a UO qualifier. Every time I play a cash game I'm going to donate € 10 to an organization I strongly disagree with (political etc.). I honestly can think of nothing worse to do with my money than donate to the likes of Trump, NRA, or a far right wing party (lib dem voter here). Will get Marco or Jeppe to send me a document with stats every week, so you can follow as well.

To be continued (after I've gotten some more sleep and water)

Well, I really enjoy reading the post. My favourite one is the description of the daily routine.

Depositing, woo-hoo, they are many tourneys, let's gambaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, alcohol is my middle name, let's banzaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, ooopps, where are the euros left, I'll stop behaving like this (only for today). Meh, what happened yesterday? Who cares, my motto is forget the bad things. Upsy it seems I need a deposit again.

I knew it! 🆒

I think you should up the ante a little: Instead of just donating in silence, you should buy some merchandise from the Trump campaign or the Breitbart shop and wear it when you stream your next poker games or your Bundesliga predictions! Maybe the idea of you being in front of a camera wearing a M A G A hat and a "Build the Wall"-shirt, while sipping your beer out of a God Emperor mug will put an end to any kind of extracurricular poker activities....🤣

Playing the € 2 UO now. Playing waaay to many hands and too aggressively, but I got a very fun player at my table literally playing every single hand. Tried to take advantage of this a couple of times but failed big, as he's very good at hitting the river:D

NSDAP, is that you @WuDu? :D

Are you sure the game is not rigged? Some players hit their river more than others? That is not just gambler's fallacy?

Just made a full house thanks to the river and turn, when all-in on the flop (had QJh and there was a Q on the flop, villain had AA), so I think it's rigged so that the worse hand will always win ;)

Got a € 10 ticket from the above mentioned € 2 qualifier. 2 of 3 in the € 2 ones and 0 of 3 in the € 10 ones - considering the majority has been played in a not so ideal condition, I guess that's okay :D

Playing Davitsches league today, and what a great start I've had (NB it's rigged):

Had registered for three UO tournaments starting recently, but I'm too tired to play, so just showed with random hands.

Balance pretty low now, and not going to play again before I'm back from vacation.

My conclusion so far is that it's going to be close to impossible qualifying for Vegas or Bucharest, without improving my game - no real surprise there. I'm still struggling with impatience and honestly just like to play some weird hands once in a while. I've always struggled following rules, and feels like the same applies to playing GTO - often make plays that I know I shouldn't, but just can't help it :D

Sure that I can beat the € 2 ones, but have struggled with the € 10.

Without some serious studying, I'll never be able to take online poker very seriously, I think.

To be continued in 3-4 weeks :)

Played 2 * 10e UO qualifiers yesterday. Won a 50e ticket in one of them. Went on to win a 250e ticket in the 50e tournament and obviously the luck couldn't last forever and I didn't secure a package.

Woke up to a closed account because of a slightly too creative (and offensive) alias - obviously worked as someone complained about it. Apparently there're limits to what you can do, even as a former employee. Just got the account reopened and ready to play the community league tonight :)
