pirahn
Starting from 1c, i was playing $500 final to $5300 ticket. I came upon this interesting and unusual situation. Starting stack 500k. Blinds are 150k/300k. 32 players left. 28 win a ticket and 29th gets $4350 cash. I have just doubled up to 5 million and sitting pretty. Do i play for the ticket or cash ? The very next hand im on bb and get ak. Chip leader on table min raises, how do you play this handDoes the large cash changes all the normal dynamics to playing ? MoreTBC
It shouldn't do, it's just another payout so ICM considerations carry on as normal. If you want the money you should be waiting until there are 29 left before risking chips. Have you read my blog HERE... It's long isn't it :)
GotWhatItTakes
Depends on how big your interest is in playing the MILLIONS event. If you need the money go for the cash, if you want to play a huge online MTT, go for the ticket. Because the cash is almost the same value as the tickets, it is not so bad if you finish as the last guy without a ticket. In the tournament it is more likely that you don´t cash than it is that you do. So after all the 5300$ ticket could be worth 0 (of course you still have the experience).Do you grind the partypoker sats? NO MORE HALF-MEASURES.
