Wager vs settle

- Wagering requirements explained:

Amount of times you need to bet the bonus money in order to change it into cash.

3 times in sports betting (e.g. if you receive a €50 bonus, you must wager €150 to fulfil the terms)

25 times in Casino (e.g. if you have a €50 bonus, you must stake €1,250 to complete the turnover)

All table games and all Video Poker count 10% towards the wagering. Slot games counts 100%.

35 times in Live Casino (e.g. if you have a €50 bonus, you would have to bet €50 × 35 = €1.750 to fulfil the terms)

LIVE Casino wagering contribution: All Live Casino games count 10% towards the wagering.

10 times in Bingo (e.g. if you have a €50 bonus, you would have to bet €50 × 10 = €500 to fulfil the terms)

 - Only bets on odds of 1.4 or higher will count towards the progression of your bonus.

- Supertoto, Betup, Poker and Superscore products do not count towards wagering requirements, and bonus money can't be used for these products.

- Combined Live and pre-match bets do not contribute towards the bonus wagering.

- The bonus will expire after 60 days after accepting the bonus offer. If you don’t complete the wagering in this time the bonus money and the winnings you’ve made by wagering, the bonus money will be lost.

These are the standard terms for a bonus on the main site as far as I'm aware. As far as I can tell from reading them it would suggest that after placing the required bets (or wagering the money required) the bonus would unlock. I also had a quick look on a dictionary website to check my understanding of the word wager was correct..

Imagine my surprise when after wagering £30 to clear the bonus I had in my account it's not cleared. I hit up the live chat to see what the issue was..

12:54:44 [Me] I've placed £30 of bets on sports at 1.4 or above
12:55:48 [LC] Have your bets settled, Andrew ?
12:56:00 [ME] No, they're WC bets
12:56:19 [LC] Your bonus will be applied upon settlement.
12:56:52 [Me] There is no mention of that in the T&Cs. It just says you have to wager the amount required in the 60 days
12:57:15 [LC] Wager means the bets have to settle, MoreTBC.

:Wow:

I then suggested that that wasn't the dictionary definition of wager and that they T&Cs should be updated and I'd be on my way. Now this was a free bet bonus won from here so my understanding would be I accept the bonus, use the free bet and that's the end of it? Not sure why I then have to bet 3x to release €0? Will I have to place bets equal to 3x whatever I win? (if I win) and if so why does it show me that I need to place £30 in bets at 1.4+ when that number may change? Should there not be something in the T&Cs that mentions the bets being settled first rather than just wagering based info?

Sports betting, you confuse me so :Disappointed:

Also, whats the default font and size on the forum? :)

@MoreTBC From which competition did you win the Freebet? I ask because it's added as a bonus with wagering requirements and not as a Freebet :)

About the wagering, I'll pass the feedback along to the teams responsible for the bonuses if it can't be added that the bets needs to be settled before counting towards the turnover requrement. It has to be that way though as it's possible to cash in quite a few bets, and in some cases we allow for a cancellation of bets as well :)

@JeppeL, It was from the UOS Final table promo. I placed a £10 fre bet on someone to win the WC which is why I'm confused as to why I need to wager more to release something I already have, or do I have to wager enough to 3x any winnings?

Ah yeah that competition was paid out in bonus money. A wager placed using a Freebet won't count towards the wagering requirement of a bonus, only the bonus money or real money wagered will do that. For a £10 bonus with 3 x wagering requirement, you'll have to place bets for £30 and have them settle as well before the bonus money turns into cash.
