So to answer your question, the team will stay together for 2019/20 and we'll even get bettter. Pulisic didn't have much of a role this year, so his loss doesn't really hurt. We're probably buying Hazard (Thorgan, not Eden  ) and there will be some roster clean up with guys like Dahoud, Weigl, Philipp, Toprak rumoured to leave for various reasons.

👍

Well, to be fair, I'm actually sober when I watch the BVB games, so I think that my opinion is a little bit more valuable...

Let me be more precise:

Schalke lost their best talents (Goretzka and Meyer) and received nothing in return. They tried to replace them with Mascarell, Serdar and later Rudy for a lot of money. Saying that your team improves after those moves is straight lunatic. Same situation with Mark Uth. He's a solid Bundesliga forward to have in your rotation, who's had 1 (ONE) great season under Nagelsmann with 22 scorers! Look at who else is having a great year under Nagelsmann this season: Kramaric, Belfodil and Joelinton! Maybe, just maybe it's the Hoffenheim system that is pretty good...

My point is, although Pulisic is a great talent, he has not shown much this year and in fact has been pushed out of the line-up by Jadon Sancho, riding the bench even when healthy. However we're getting 64 M Euro in return and can use that money on attracting Bundesliga stars like Hazard or elite talent. We don't have to go dumpster diving like S04 during the summer...

Another aspect is that our team is not really well balanced this season: We have one forward, Paco Alcacer. That's it and he has a tendency to get banged up easily. Reus doesn't like to play up front. Philipp has shown nothing, absolutely nothing as our lone striker. Götze played himself back into the team as the False 9, however he wasn't really productive in that role. I like Bruun Larsen playing that role from time to time, but this cannot be a long-term solution. Getting a back-up striker automatically improves our team, since we have none on our roster.  So if we're getting nothing from our back-up striker spot right now, we can only improve, don't you agree?

Similar situation at our left-back spot. Our only specialist at that position is Marcel Schmelzer! SCHMELZER!!!!!!! And he doesn't even play anymore under Favre. We had to move Hakimi to the left side and now Diallo, our 2nd most expensive transfer of all time, is playing there. Diallo was bought to be our second center back next to Akanji. And no, he's not the next Marcelo...I think on Saturday, Zagadou will move to the bench and Weigl will start at CB, because Diallo is the only one that can play on the left side right now. Weigl is a defensive midfielder! Again, getting a left back automatically improves our team, since we're getting nothing from that spot right now.

We could also use another central/defensive midfielder and a right-back. But that's even further down the agenda...

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

You are spot on,probably,as I don't follow Bundesliga that much. 😃

Progress is visible and considering that they are all young, progress curve can only go upwards.

You covered them all,but left "crucial engine" out...what do you think about Lucien Favre?

Do you think his touch is visiable or he just blend in well orgenized club?

His contract will expire next season,do you think he is the right men or any solid coach can lead BVB?

I followed his work while he was OGC Nice coach.

After Bosz and Stöger last season, Favre was exactly what we needed! I think in Berlin and Gladbach he has shown that he's a true expert, everything else we'll have to see. I didn't follow him at Nice, all I remember is that he had to get along with Balotelli and that Nice was reaching the top of Ligue 1 for a short while during his first season. He never worked at a club as big as Dortmund before (more money for transfers, better scouting, professional environment...) so I don't see why he couldn't thrive here. Is he as good as Kloppo? Probably not, but in my mind, he's not worse than Tuchel. Especially in the second half of the 16/17 season under Tuchel, the BVB was totally dependant on Dembele and don't get me started on Tuchel's transfers...:puking:

We're gonna win on so many levels! We're gonna win, win, win. You're gonna get so tired of winning, you're gonna say: "Mr. President please, we don't wanna win anymore, it's too much!" And I'm gonna say: "I'm sorry, we're gonna keep winning because we're gonna make America great again!"

Nurnberg score a goal in huge relegation battle, but the referee disallow the goal, which shocking me and show the VAR is really far to perfect mode. Few minutes later awarded a PK to home team, but Behrens missed that chance. Nurnberg’s last chance to avoid the relegation, they are better, but no received a valid goal, yet.

There's a real chance, Schalke only gets 0 or 1 point out of its next 3 games... :speechless:

Schalke drawing Nürnberg 1-1! The dream is still alive, hopefully Stuttgart have figured out Bosz again!

Nürnberg scored a goal, which was taken away. Had a penalty, which they missed. Had a counter attack late in the second half, which they wasted. Scored the leading goal in the 82nd, only to get the equalizer on a lucky bounce in the 84th. Lucky point for S04, I'd say. The smurfs are dead in the water, especially with Hoffe and Dortmund coming up.

Fun fact about Schalke: Over their last 10 Bundesliga games, they scored more than 1 goal just once! In a 4-2 loss to Bremen.

Nübel is a great goalie though, he will be a nice addition for Bayern in 2020.

Nübel, the new Neuer. Just hope we can keep him for a few more years. Didn't watch the full first half as I had to deal with that freeroll, but Schalke were dominating in the 2nd half, and I think a draw was deserved.

Schalke were the team dressed in white/blue...

Two shots on target in the whole game for S04, one was the goal by Nastasic.

After watching the game today, I might have to reconsider my opinion about Favre's work! How can it be that we're in total control of the game, but are throwing it away if not for Roman Bürki? How is it possible, that every cross in, every corner kick puts our "defense" on red alert? In the end we had 4 center backs on the field and 3 defensive midfielders and the only thing that saved the win today was Bürki stopping the ball on the freaking goal-line. Once the season is over, there's a lot to work on in that regard during the off-season...

Next Sunday, we're travelling to Freiburg which will be super tough.

Yeah, that is the segment which decide is a coach good one,or a bad one.

You dont need to apply some uninvented methods into the team such as BVB.They will always score one more goal over their opponent with such a quality they posses, but for reaching another level, they need to have a balance.

Favre is capable of adopting himself to his team, rather than forcing some stile that is not suitable to his players, and that is what I like about him.

That been said,it will be interesting where will he spend money from Pulisic?!

That decision/s will also decide his future...

Another central striker option, that would give "2+ goals over conceded"...

or on a defender/s,that would block "a few concedings"?

Also, would not be surprised, and hope so,if he decide to switch for 4-3-3/3-4-3 formation.

Very, very close race this season but I think Bayern will end up with +4 points. 😉

The Pulisic money goes into the option to buy Alcacer, then we already signed Argentinian defender Balerdi for 16 M in the winter and Thorgan Hazard is leaving Gladbach at the end of the season. All in all, this should cost more than we receive from the Pulisic deal. There are rumours that the BVB is picking up Felipe Luis as a stopgap for the left defensive side. In addition to that, Alex Isak is loaned out to Willem II this season where he scored 12 times with 4 assists in 12 games. :wow: These are better numbers than what e.g. Kasper Dolberg put up for Ajax. Maybe he comes back to be our #2 striker.

However what I wanted to say is, that we're not naturally lacking talent on defense but there's something wrong with the system. Against Bayern, Mats Hummels, who's not known to be a dangerous guy on offense basically had 4 or 5 open headers in the first half after corner kicks! How's that even possible? Yesterday, especially after Philipp was substituted in, our left defensive side was wide open over the last few minutes with #2 of Mainz being able to provide cross in after cross in. If every free kick or corner is dangerous for the BVB, despite absolute beasts playing on defense, there's something wrong with the system.

There are two things I hope for this season:

The BVB winning the title and Schalke having to play relegation! 🤣

Düsseldorf lost, but that's OK, maybe Werder Bremen can hurt them next week. The tough games for Bayern are on MD33 in Leipzig and on MD34 at home against Frankfurt! Red Bull has the best defense in the Bundesliga and something to prove even if they're already qualified for the UCL. Those cans have to be sold. Frankfurt is the 3rd best team on the road and with the loss today against Augsburg, additional Euro League duty and teams like Hoffenheim, Werder and Leverkusen maybe pressuring from behind, they hopefully have to play for the UCL on the last MD.

Schalke is 6 points ahead of Stuttgart now. I expect two losses for S04 against Hoffe and the BVB. Stuttgart travels to Augsburg and then gets Gladbach at home. As I said before, Schalke is a dead team, however in order to avoid the relegation games, Stuttgart has to gain 4 points on Schalke within the next 4 matchdays. Then they'd have to travel to Gelsenkirchen and beat S04 on the final matchday. Honestly, winning at Schalke is the easy part in this calculation. Even Nürnberg is only 3 points behind Stuttgart...

Nübel's agent refuses to engage in contract talks with Schalke and today a report came out that Bayern is watching him for 2 years now. 🤣 Given the fact that they'll be paying 5 M a year to Jan-Fiete Arp, get ready for Fährmann again! Just Schalke being Schalke, I guess!

On the plus side, Stuttgart is 0-3 behind Augsburg in the middle of the first half! That's what I call "effort" fighting relegation! 🤣 Weinzierl will be gone after today but this is good news for Schalke. Incredible how much luck they had with weak opponents over the last 2 seasons!

BVB-Smurf Village tomorrow and no bravado from the Schalke fan(s)? Should be an easy win for us, S04 is a joke and we play at home. Some Schalke players "prepared" in a special way though: Bentaleb and Harit skipped their German language lessons---> Bentaleb is suspended (again) and Harit was fined. That says all you need to know about the state of the team.

Honestly, I can understand both of them, they're gone after this season, so I wouldn't want to learn German as well. Also, Harit staying at home and off the streets cannot be a bad thing...:wow:

Bayern is playing Nürnberg and Hannover next, so we need to win against S04 and Bremen next week! Interesting to see what Stuttgart is about to do with their new coach who wants to play offensively. Their next two games are at home against Gladbach and in Berlin. Both of these teams will switch their coach at the end of the season and both of them are having a terrible 2019 so far.
