Gold Cup and Africa Cup of Nations

Recommended Posts

In my opinion one topic enough for this two tournament. Both contests goal average were lower than previous competitions. Between the Concacaf teams have a big difference, but the winning margin aren't high, while the VAR help the questionable situations and raise the goal average in Africa.

Gold Cup:

- No VAR

- 4th substution in extra time

-  possible to show a yellow/red card to any of the coaches and officials on the bench.

Africa Cup of Nations:

- Egypt to replace Cameroon as host of CAF

- the federation prefer the summer's tournament

- VAR (since the quarterfinal)

I guess Africa evolved, but in a wrong direction I am afraid considering that, probably, over 60% of population doesn't have minimal sanitary conditions. :Speechless:

The tournament goal average was 1.9 before the final. I place a bet goals 1.5 over (stake: €100). (Own)Goal in the second/third minute, absolutely great start, the referee give a penalty to Senegal, but after VAR check the final decision no penalty, and full time is 1-0, unfortunately. Finally the African Cup of Nations go to long break.
