Why is my bet lost?

I have the following bet which I placed:

I don't get why this has been settled as lost as Skelton won the first set.
Here are the official results from the bowlsgrandprix website: http://grandprixbowls.co.uk/fixturesAndResults.asp

If you scroll down to today's date you will see that Skelton won the first set and went on to win the match 2 sets to 1.

I have twice talked to the live chat person. And they have said that I should receive an email about the outcome. It's been almost 12 hours now since the event ended and also I had to wait a lot of time to get connected on the chat. ( already lost more than 2 hours today waiting). Please can anyone check that.

It seems to have been resolved now as can be seen above.

@Joe88 The issue seems to have been fixed now. The bet status has changed to won now.
@Livertool yeah mate!
@JeppeL I was told I would get an email telling me about the outcome of the resolution.  But I have not had any. I could see that my balance was updated but it is rather unprofessional not sending any email aknowledging the mistake. I had to go through the live chat a three times since yesterday and had to wait a lot. I did another livechat today with some Andrew and he told me he changed the priority to Urgent and then finally after some 30 minutes, I saw the bet status has changed.
I am happy that it has been resolved though I ask if I did not check the score, I would have lost potentially hundred euros.

@GT I'm happy it was resolved, saw you already had the case pending after contacting customer support and there was no point in me logging the same case with our sportsbook  - and what a nice bet :)

You're absolutely right about the email, it should've been sent even though the bet wasn't solved within an hour like you where asking for on the live chat. I believe we've identified a small gap in the response process and I'll present the scenario for our new head of customer support, hopefully within a week.

As for the wrong settlement itself, our sportsbook settles thousands of bets daily and mistakes can and will happen since there are a lot of processes involved.

I know @Livertool says we've been getting worse at settling our bets lately, but I haven't heard anything internal about it and I think it's a matter of perception vs reality. The community is growing in numbers daily, that means more reported problems and not necessarily more problems overall. Last time I heard, I believe it was about 0.5% of all our bets that are settled incorrectly, some of those are then re-settled automatically while others are not - which we then usually hear about as multiple customers has placed the bets and some are bound to notice the wrong settlemet. I can't compare the 0.5% to other betting companies, but I know from experience that it's a very competitive number.

I dont know better or worse but every week these seem to pop up. And imo every incorrect settle is too much, especially they always goes to unibet way. Dont complain at all anymore when you will pay my lost bets :D

And good thing for this forum so people become aware of these :)

If the goal was to run a sportsbook with 0.01% wrong settlements, you'd have to have longer payout times and probably exclude livebetting all together :)

How do you mean, they always goes Unibet's way? The examples posted are by players who were on the wrong side of the settlement, meaning that the players who bet on the opposite have been paid out. This is the reason we have an absolute interest in having as few of these errors as possible and to correct them as fast as possible when they do happen as we'll be removing winnings from some players - while still being able to offer livebetting which we know our players want, even if an error happens from time to time.

I definitely agree though, that players should be aware that settlements aren't done with a 100% success rate and check their bets themselves and I believe it's in the nature of most players to do so, when an error happens we usually get contaced about the same bet by a lot of different players :)

Please remeber about the rumour of Mijatovic's goal in the WC98. It was Mijatovic's score then own goal. So excluding live bets can not grant you a 100% score.:-)

@JeppeLmaybe as a suggestion, each placed bet has 'Settle bet' button to ensure those who won actually get paid.

Scenario:

place a 10 euro bet on middlesborough to beat arsenal tonight.

score (hyperthetically) 2-0 to middlesborough.

ref blows for full time, i go to my placed bets.

i see i have won, i click settle bet.

The winnings are added to my account, or if they do not, i can then highlight it to customer services via live chat.

Sound good to anyone????

The path of the rightous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
