Valkyrie
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but I just clicked "like" on a post in the Cute animal thread in the Off topic section and when I did, the like counter decreased by 1 instead of going up, so I clicked again and then it went back to the number it was before. My guess is that I'd already liked that post before and forgotten about it so when I clicked the first time I "removed" my previous like. :sad:Since you can't like a post twice I just assumed that nothing would happen if you'd already liked it and accidentally clicked again, but I guess I was wrong? :wonder: I didn't even think it was possible to "revoke" a like once it had been given - and for the record, I really don't think it should be.To make sure it wasn't just a one time thing I tried clicking and re-clicking "like" on a post in the idea exchange section as well and the same thing happened. So is this a bug or is it supposed to work that way?
Ametrine
Yep, revoking likes has been a thing for a while now - I always hover over the like button just in case to see if I have already liked the post or not, before clicking 😃Edit - here's the topic about it:https://www.unibetcommunity.com/t5/Suggestions-for-the-community/Removing-Kudo/m-p/31732#M704
Valkyrie
Thanks for the explanation and the link . 😃 I knew I'd seen it mentioned somewhere before but I think the last post I read in that thread was the one where @Stubbe-Unibet said he preferred the setup where you couldn't revoke them, so I thought that was the way it had remained. I usually go in and check the user name list if I'm unsure if I've liked a post already. I've actually never seen the "remove kudos" thing - and I didn't this time either - so I didn't expect anything to happen if I accidentally clicked again. But luckily I could put it back just as easily. 😃 Still don't think it should be possible to remove them though...
MoreTBC
I semi agree with this as I think revoking is fine (we all misclick now and again). The issue is there is no way to distinguish between when 'you' like something and when 'someone' likes something. I know on the dark skin when a post has 0 likes the word is grey, when 'someone' likes it it goes green and when 'you' like it it goes green but the thumb has a light grey box around it. It would make more sense if the text stayed grey when no likes of 'someone' likes and goes green when you like so you can tell the difference quickly. Same idea with the default skin. Valkyrie
That's a good idea , having different colors would make it easier to see "at first glance" if you've already liked a post or not. Also, I have another suggestion - if we have to keep the possibility to revoke likes (because yes, it might be handy in case of misclicks) but couldn't we at least make it so it's not possible to revoke them after a certain time period - kind of like the 30 minutes you've got to edit a post? BonusPater
Afraid it's either or. We can't set a time limit. There should definitely be a difference between the icon for an already liked post and one you haven't liked yet. As mentioned, this is currently the case with the dark theme, but for some reason I haven't added it to the standard one. Will get right on it :)
Valkyrie
Okay, thanks . I still vote for the "or" option. 😛 But if it's not doable, it's not doable. That's fair enough. 😃 At least the different colors will help avoid accidental removals. 👍
BonusPater
I've set the opacity to 50 %, when you've already liked the post (see first post on below picture). I'll push the change the 30th, when we go live with the Christmas design :D
MoreTBC
Are you tweaking the dark skin too? Pretty please? :lovekiss: Have you read my blog HERE... It's long isn't it :)
BonusPater
Yeah, the change should also apply to the dark skin, when I push it for the standard one :)
Valkyrie
what will it look like if someone else has liked the post? Will it be the same as the "0 likes" in the example above?
