Everybody here knew that Modeste was a bad choice. However he scored the game winner against Hertha and scored and assisted in the 2-2 vs Bayern. Without him we'd definitely be lacking 3 points.

Speaking of winter transfers, obviously @jerry was in hibernation at that time. We picked up Ryerson as our new LB/RB and Duranville in the winter. In addition to that, Edin managed to fix Emre Can, Marius Wolf, Donny Malen and Adeyemi during the break and even integrated Haller. RB/LB, DM and winger/attacker positions all improved over the winter.

Bayern is playing in Köln on MD 34. This will be the final match of Jonas Hector's career, Köln captain and fantasy legend. Weather will be great and 50.000 fans will be cheering for the upset. Personally, I have more faith in Köln putting up 110 % against Bayern than fucking Red Bull. Baumgart will push them.

Old Man Moukoko with 7 goals and 4 assists this season, that's not so bad. Scoring the game winner against the Smurfs, Bochum and Union in addition to important goals vs Bayern and Freiburg. The point is that he's been out of the starting lineup since MD 18. You know what happened afterwards? The emergence of HAM, Haller/Adeyemi/Malen.

Especially with Bellingham likely leaving, this would be a fair offer. Move him to central midfield while using him as a BU to Bense/Ryerson on the left side as well. But maybe some other club is knocking on his door.

Alvarez is very good, could be the missing link if you keep Bellingham [yeah, i know], exchange Ryerson/Meunier for some LB/RB who can provide 10+assists [hint hint Grimaldo,Juranovic] and bring good cover for Haller. Think peak Schmelzer/Piszczek+someone like Paco. But i think there is big competition for Alvarez, even from the very top clubs beside Bayern. But if Leverkusen can pull Grimaldo you can definately pull Alvarez.

BTW: Leverkusen just lost the final with Roma who had one shot not on target and 28% posession. Peak Mourinho and peak Loserkusen.

In other, im assuming, very interesting news Uronen is close to Lech Poznań  and mentioned here couple times John Yeboah is a Darmstadt target, you could probably say new Buli member. I remember when Śląsk Wrocław contracted him a year ago he had offers only from 3.liga and regionalliga. Tell me you cant make a name for yourself in a Ekstraklasa

I think defenders should have defense as their core competence. Ryerson is doing a good job, especially for his price. Meunier is not even making it on the matchday roster anymore. You're complaining about Old Man Moukoko, yet you want to bring in someone like Paco Alcacer as a backup for Haller? Alcacer was a dwarf.

By the way, I think the BVB scored the most goals in 2023 out of all the teams in the Euro top leagues. Offense is not our problem.

I agree however that the BVB should look at various positions and think about improving them. If you want to keep Moukoko, you need to find a role for him, being the replacement for Haller next to Adeyemi/Malen is not going to work. However I would be a lot happier if the BVB looked at ways to implement talent. With Dahoud leaving, I think Kamara might be moving up from BVB 2 (18 years old, stolen from PSG, over 30 games in the 3. Liga). There are other young players that should get their chance sooner or later like Duranville, Rijkhoff or Brunner.

Freiburg with the much needed win.

 

Red Bull closes out the year with Bayern tomorrow and the Smurfs next week. In addition to that, they play yet another cup final. No way they can rest their players tomorrow. Who knows what happens against the Smurfs on the final matchday.

In addition to all the other close matches, Stuttgart is playing in Mainz tomorrow, Hoffenheim hosts Union. On MD 34 they play each other!

Made some bets today with Schalke win at 2,80 as a focal point. Its not a big sum so dont worry about me  but i feel this is game for their taking. I dont like odds though, cause its a bit too high IMO [should be like 2,10 if not even 1,8 after all for Schalke its biggest game of the season] and have feeling that bookies knows more and maybe Schalke will not win it. Frankfurt is very hot/cold team playing for nothing [training session before DFB pokal final trying to avoid injuries] now with already fired coach. Didnt have luck with Schalke this season, we'll see today

A lot of Christmas presents happened today:

Augsburg stays in, so less motivation to play against the BVB tomorrow! Stuttgart plays Mainz tomorrow and Hoffenheim in a week. Both of them have nothing to play for anymore. Hertha is gone. Smurfs are almost gone!!!!!!

Speaking of the game tomorrow, with Jude not playing, there are now 4 candidates to replace him:

• Guerreiro
• Özcan
• Reus
• Reyna

Call me crazy, but I'd play Özcan here. Guerreiro? Sure, but Meunier didn't travel with the team, so we only have 3 LB/RBs available.

Reyna or Reus? 

Dahoud isn't an option anymore as he stayed behind as well, which leaves Özcan as the only choice here.

Speaking of the game, great coaching performance by Rose to take out Simakan and bring on Henrichs. Rose's best performance for the BVB, if you ask me! Having said that, it's also great how the BVB manages to plant former coaches to pull the strings behind the scene:

Double agent Wagner helped bring the Smurfs down, double agent Farke destroying Gladbach, double agent Tuchel playing the long game to help the BVB win the title and coach Rose is being planted in Leipzig to make them great again and steal points from Bayern.

Thanks shifu, my calculation was a little off, probably due to Bochum's last second equalizer. Augsburg can still drop down on the relegation spot 16.

But yes, this is it, a win today in Augsburg can change so much about the Bundesliga. With a loss we'd be approaching Neverkusen territory. That's why I don't want to see limp noodles like Reus, Reyna or Guerreiro on the pitch.

However if we win this, Bayern is going to implode:

Kahn likely out, with Brazzo being protected by Hoeness. They'd also have to rebuild their team with Thomas "scouting LOL"  Tuchel at the helm. In addition to that, it's not 2013, 14 or 16 anymore where Bayern could pick Götze, Lewy and Hummels from their biggest rivals. They probably wanted Reus as well.

In 2023 however, they have to pay sugar daddy prices or develop their own players. One or two bad and expensive picks by Tuchel and the rollercoaster is on!

BVB and Bayern playing for the title. 

Smurfs need something in Leipzig. Bochum plays at home against Leverkusen, who play for Europe. Frankfurt is likely mailing it in vs Freiburg, no way they should be favourites here. I'm expecting Stuttgart to win against Hoffenheim and Augsburg to get something vs Gladbach.

I think, Smurfs will go down directly as even the 2nd team of RB is way too strong and Bochum will have to play relegation against Hamburg or Heidenheim.

Köln +1 is at round about 3,00 right now, which I think is a good bet. If the BVB scores early and maybe runs up the score at home, Bayern might as well pack it in.

Tbh won't be most spectacular win with max 73 points, in fact we have to go to season 09/10 to find league won with such crappy points and even Smurfs gathered 65 points then so must have been weird season overall. But win is win nonetheless, hopefully it encourage owners to invest to team so this won't be just one fluke in decade.

How stupid was Kahn changing Julien? Kahn could fire Nagelsmann right now and no one would bat an eye. Or even only after City. Im betting that Kahn will leave with some of the board and they will beg Julien to return. How crazy that would be?

Hummels really showed up over the past few weeks, his ex-wife is showing up in Playboy with her sister. 

Oh noooo, Bayern inflated the amount of points needed to win the league by being able to spend 150 M Euro more per year in salaries than the #2 team in the league and regularily  weakens its Bundesliga opponents by getting their best players to sit on the bench for Bayern. The BVB lost Haaland before the year and Haller for half a year, why didn't we score 90 points?

The Bayern board is meeting after Pentecost next Tuesday. Usually, Hainer, Kahn and Brazzo would have to be fired. Not because of the BVB winning the title but because of all the stuff going on at the club:

• Nagelsmann fired
• Goal keeper coach fired
• The Neuer/Sommer/Nübel-saga
• Sadio Mane
• Lewy replacement
• Roster management

I think Brazzo will stay and Kahn gets the boot. Which will be insane as well, since Kahn was groomed for that role for years.

Also funny how Niklas Süle left Bayern for Dortmund before the year to compete for titles!

David Kownacki from F.Dusseldorf signed with Werder. With Ducksch and World Cup legend Fullkrug hard to see him playing. I guess at least one of them is on the way out. As for the choice It could be quick road to 2.Buli, if both of mentioned guys are out for example. Also Werder looked at least as bad as Stuttgart/Schalke/Bochum this season. He had many offers and im pretty sure from a bit better teams [Union] and choose most likely money. Or maybe Ole Werner seduced him with another project in vein of Rufer/Bratseth/Herzog/Votava/Basler/Eilts and Ekstraklasa legend Borowka

I think Kownacki is the replacement for Maxi Phillipp, who was the replacement for Oliver Burke. I don't think he's being used to assemble another Bundesliga Manager 93 team, however.

I think someone should create a BVB-Expendables meme. It's absolutely incredible what Edin has done this season. I told you, he already outcoached the bald fraud in 4 UCL playoff matches and is 3-1-0 against Nagelsmann! But just look at the current starting lineup:

Haller. Out for 1/2 a year with cancer.

Malen. A total bust for 1,5 years. Adeyemi. Not showing anything for 1/2 a year.

Brandt. Not meeting expectations for 3 years. Not even a starter back in August.

Can. Another bust for 3 years. Now an absolute leader and beast as our 6.

Wolf. From role player off the bench to starting RB to the national team.

Hummels. Great performance ---> benched--->Great performance.

If we win the game against Mainz, he won the cup and the league in his first two seasons. One match left.
