GR1ZZL3R
STEP BY STEP It's not been a good week but to be fair it felt a lot worse than it actually was. It's still downward though and however I look at my play it still feels as if I'm not getting a fair crack. I am not going to go down the "rigged" "unfair" "bots" or "unlucky" route however badly I feel treated... but I can't resist just one example. Four consecutive hands. Screen Recording 2024-10-21 at 12.28.32.mov I don't know but I don't think I could have played anything much different, maybe you do, and if I had there would have been any other outcome. Anyway, that's all in the past, so rather than I'm going to try something else. I know I'm too tight, quite often when I raise with the bigger hands I get all folds. This leads to frustration and the inability to let go of a hand even when I know I'm beaten just because I haven't seen a flop for ten minutes. Therefore I'm going to rejig the starting hands as a first step to trying to get a bit more action, less folding, less boredom, (I'm still going to 1 table, at least till these tickets are done) and hopefully start stepping back up. 1 "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%." GR1ZZL3R
HALL OF FAME Looks impressive till I say that's from 40x €4 cash tickets, with some bits and pieces of cash left on the odd few. At one stage I even forgot about a batch of 6 tickets bought, probably supressing the awful memories of virtually trashing them in 2 days. This has led to... THE HALL OF SHAME It's a tiny sample but just another bad bout of thrashing around uncontrollably in the Microverse, most of it caused by involuntary spasms in my forefinger leading to pressing the call button before I've even begun to think about it, I'm seriously considering leaving the cash tables and concentrating on new ventures. After all my bigger successes have been in tourneys. When I say I'm a losing player I suppose I should qualify it and say in one particular format, maybe more than one but I I should call myself an overall winner and stop beating the cash tables theme to death.I withdrew another £44 this morning, trying to leave exactly €100 in my account and as usual missing the target. This leaves an overall history of being a winner, maybe luck, maybe better suited to a different format, I don't know. I suppose my obsession with playing cash stems from my early days on the tables which were mostly restricted to short sessions, sometimes as low as a quickly snatched 5 minutes though most were probably 30-60 minutes. I never really settled into long sessions grinding out mtts and the like, though I did like playing the Double Your Money versions on Sky, most over in 20-30 minutes. From there I played the 40 player SNGs on 888, winning a few here and there, then here on UB I quite enjoyed the satellite paths for the live tourneys and the UK version. Those are a bit changed these days but I'm thinking of going back to the qualifiers for the Supernova and the Supermoon, the biggest weekly and monthly tournaments. I'm not saying I won't ever play cash again, but it just seems to cause me too much heartache. To be fair I don't like playing to targets, number of flops etc, and playing with tickets meaning you can't top up is only putting yourself under more pressure. I could come back and play actual cash, top up at all times, try to play for fun and accept I'm unlikely ever to be a winner at the format, but I'm past caring about studying or learning, I was never much good at that anyway, so from now on it's going to be 3 "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%." GR1ZZL3R
So deciding to go for a clean start yet again I made another withdrawal taking my balance down to zero and my BPs to 4,075. I was going to take those down to a straight 4,000 but played two live centrolls gaining 2 x 40c , so already well on the way to a live event. I then noticed I still had £0.54 left in the bonus money section and some play left to convert this. I realised this had come from the daily spin promo, so not only do you rarely win any spins on that any money that you do win in the extremely rare instance of actually hitting some free spins has to be played through to be converted to cash, yet another reason to vote that promo as the worst one yet. Having said all that I played on and being in no rush and not being an utter degen I played 1 penny and 1 line at a time. I did record it just in case but accidentally deleted it, and to be fair it was quite interesting when all the free spins were accumulating and my balance was going up pennies at a time. The outcome was huge. And again, wanting to leave a clean edge I jumped on the cash tables. It's amazing when you can play without even thinking about winning or losing, I got lucky two or three times when I shouldn't have been anywhere near the river and my balance went up a few quid, enough to actually make another withdrawal but I held off, still a few hours before the end of the month. After all the trick or treaters seemed to have finished for the night and I'd checked the racing results (still winning small) I opened Discord and noticed there were some centrolls running for a farewell to Poland. I assumed it was just for Polish players but saw a few familiar names that certainly weren't Polish so jumped in the second one. I didn't last too long but then a third one started so I tagged along. I was sat next to Stubbe who actually showed all those poseurs on Hustler Casino and The Lodge how to be a proper degen, it would take far too long to list all the flops, turns and rivers that favoured him, I assumed he'd been fiddling about with the rng, running up a huge stack while I kept rebuying. Ultimately I ended up in a titanic HU battle with SickOldIMLOF, well over 100 hands, and I missed the bit in Discord where he suggested just limping every hand but that's more or less what we were doing anyway. It was enjoyable (making money has to be) but also tinged with sadness, bye bye Poland and the market shrinks again. So long guys (and gals?) and best of luck wherever you play. So rather than starting a new month with a zero balance and an even BP balance I'm already up and running, where to I have no idea. Maybe this tournament route will be fun. 1 "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%."
GR1ZZL3R Posted Sunday at 11:36 Author Share Posted Sunday at 11:36 We want you to bet more, that's why we send emails about our promos, but we also want to show concern and help you if your betting activity increases. Which it hasn't... ...except for playing through the bonus money on the free Spin 'n' Win promo which results in... ...very confusing. GR1ZZL3R Posted Monday at 12:59 Author Share Posted Monday at 12:59 My Tournament Trail A slowish start to the MTT trail as it was weekend, I tend to not play as much then, but the first set of results are in. I thought there would have been a little more info but I'm also filling them in on my Excel sheets and keeping running totals. I'm not counting the Farewell to Poland cent rolls, they were a one off, (three off actually) or the second Live Centroll on Friday, I accidentally registered for only 1 cent rather than 10 and was out pretty sharpish, my only failure (so far) at that level. So nothing really exciting, steady away, and we'll see how the rest of the week goes. "It turns out that 75% of all poker players think they play better than the other 75%."
