World Championship competition, Sunday 18.12, The Final: Argentina - France

Will France be able to defend the title, or will Argentina win their first World Cup since 1986 and the Maradona days?

Just like with the Saturdays bronze match there is again some uncertainty regarding the opening line-ups especially with the French team, so it may be smart to wait to see the confirmed starting 11's before submitting your picks. 🏆

 

For every remaining day of the 2022 FIFA World Cup we will be making picks on a set of questions regarding all the matches of the day.

To keep things as simple as possible, we will be using the community poll feature for submitting the picks.

Points for correct picks will be based on Unibet sportsbook odds and all the markets will be settled according to the sportsbook rules. You will see the potential points for a correct answer in brackets (...) on every selection. So basically this will be very much like the SuperToto competitions most of us are used to, with the exception that this has a new competition every day, and there will be no overall leaderboard.

Opta stats will be used for settling anything regarding player performances.

 

Prizes for 3 highest daily total points are credited in poker tickets and are as follows:

1st prize: €50 Majors MTT ticket + €25 Majors MTT ticket

2nd prize: €50 Majors MTT ticket + €10 Majors MTT ticket

3rd prize: €50 Majors MTT ticket

If two or more players finish in a prize position with the exact same amount of points, ticket prizes will not be divided in any way, but the "first to post"-rule will be used as a tie-breaker, so first to post their picks will always have the advantage over the other one(s).

 

The poll will automatically close at the time of the kick-off at 16:00 CET, and you will have no way of submitting your picks after that has happened. So don't leave things too late.

I will also be participating despite hosting this and choosing the events, but all the picks are public, so that should hopefully be fine for everyone.

It's a Wrap!

 

After an dramatic final Messi gets to ( most likely ) finish his national team career by leading Argentina to win the World Cup. Hard not to sympathize with that 🐐

Big thanks to Unibet and @Stubbe-Unibet & @Jami-Unibet for having the trust to let us run this competition pretty much on our own, and especially for handing us over €3300 worth of poker tickets to be given out as prizes 🙂👍

During these 3 weeks we had a total of 18 daily competitions and got ourselves 37 separate winners. Hopefully the ones that weren't fortunate enough to reach the prizes this time still got some added excitement and interest on watching the matches 🙂

The concept of using the community poll feature for submitting the picks was something we haven't had before, and I personally think it works really nicely on a competition like this, and enables having player specific markets and multi-options that wouldn't have been possible with the "old fashioned supertoto". Bit more time consuming for whoever does it all, but the benefits of versatility and ease of posting selections far outweigh the slightly higher time usage 👍

Could be nice to have a similar one going again for the EURO2024 in Germany, where the season and location and therefore also the conditions are will be the way those should be for a major event. Maybe there could also be an overall leaderboard going on the side, but we will see. Still a long way to go to that.
