Challenge completed! Or not.

Yesterday, I found an old (1988) non-working Soviet waffle maker in my parents' house on the roof. Everything is covered in old burnt sunflower oil, the cable is torn out, the old wiring is rotten inside. Today, while there was no light under the lantern, I was engaged in restoration. I cleaned it of grease (several times I wanted to just throw this waffle maker in the trash while washing it with various chemicals), restored the internal electricity, cleaned the heating elements, connected a new power cable and it worked! I didn't think I would want to share this with the community, so I would have taken more "before and after" pictures so you can see how much work has been done, but believe me the changes inside are no less than the outside.
Maybe it will not seem like such a cool job to someone, but I very rarely do manual labor, so for me personally this is an achievement and I am very proud of my work, which is why I wanted to share the results. 4 hours without light passed like a moment, so you can live without the Internet. Except that I was a little distracted on Discord when the network was available, so now I still have to wash my phone🙂

The warm weather, the repair of power grids, the possibility of reversing electricity from European countries (before that, the power grids were built in such a way that Ukraine only exported electricity, who would have thought that a country with a huge number of nuclear power plants would need imports...) allowed a little to improve the lives of ordinary people. Today, mobile Internet was available even during the blackout. So this week should be as effective as possible. The only thing that is alarming is the large amount of news in both the Western and our press about the preparation of a new large-scale offensive by an irrepressible neighbor. Oil, gasoline, empty glass bottles and rags at the ready, military medical aid courses mastered, so you can focus on poker for now. In extreme cases, a war correspondent will appear on the forum 😁
Have a great new week guys!

The Special Mission tournaments have already ended, so we can summarize the results of the January Mission. I did not manage to overtake the EV of the mission, but I am quite satisfied with the results. The casino was especially pleased, maybe it's a skill? 😁

Don't you think this is inaccurate? Spins valued with rtp yet tikets for their buyin value? Don't mean to nitpick but just saying you could turn this to positive if you would mark bps and tickets what you got out of them instead of their value 😄

@LivertoolI also thought about it, it's just that this option is more logical for me. As an example: During the promo, you received a ticket to the Supermoon. How to record it? If you didn't get into the prizes, you should write it down as "0 euros", if you won this tournament, write down "10,000 euros". But whether you won or not, it depends on your skill, Unibet only gave you a ticket for 250 euros, and with your efforts you can already make a different value out of it. And this record will go to the table "My tournaments" and it will already be written there Buy-in -250 euros, prize +10,000 euros.
If I write down the actual tournament result in the "Promo" table, what should I write down in the MTT section? It is not correct not to record at all, because I put in my efforts to turn the ticket into a prize, at the same time, if I record it in two tables, then my credit and debit will not match.
Therefore, this option is optimal for me.

Hexapro Extreme is expected to change soon, and I hardly played it. I will have a jackpot hunt today (€1 Hexapro Extreme). I'm not good at Hexapro, I'm not good at a lot of tables, so this hunt can be expensive for me. But that won't stop me.

#1st

Wild Wednesday turned out well for me (unlike the community league), 3 final tables and one first place out of 6 tournaments.

Spoiler

Also won a promo which is also nice. On the one hand, the tournament is a bit expensive for me, but on the other hand, I can't pass up the opportunity to have a good time and have fun with the community members. Yesterday there was a bubble boy in a similar promo, today I was already lucky.

A year ago my life changed. At 4:40 in the morning, my mother woke me up with a call and said that the war had started. I grabbed my phone and started reading the news. There were already reports of the first casualties, videos of rockets flying over the cities of my country, and the first official reports about what to do.
I called my brother, who was serving in the armed forces in Mariupol at that time, and he said "brother, it's started, don't worry, they don't stand a chance." That was the last time I spoke to him. Several more times messages came from him from unknown numbers that he was alive, and then the connection with the surrounded city was completely lost. In April, it became known that he was in captivity, where he is still.
Spring. I sent my daughter and wife to Szczecin (Poland) to visit relatives, and I myself went to military medical aid courses. I myself did not serve in the army and was an ardent pacifist all my life, but I could not stand completely aside. I quickly mastered the basics of first aid (by education I am a biologist, so it was quite simple) and began to wait for the enemy in my city.
The enemy did not reach the city. But a large number of refugees in the city who need help, round-the-clock air alarms, curfews, sleep problems, my daughter's tearful voice on the phone "I want to see you" on her birthday... My psyche gave way, panic attacks began. Then several weeks of fighting panic attacks with alcohol (don't do that), then realizing that you need a doctor's help and starting therapy.
Summer has come. I felt better. The first successful counterattacks of our troops, the enemy retreated on a large part of the front, the danger for my region has decreased significantly, my daughter and wife have returned, therapy has already started. In general, the summer can be called normal, as far as possible. Everyone has already got used to the war and began to adapt to life according to the new rules. Yes, avocados and bananas have become a delicacy, but essential products have started to appear in stores again at reasonable prices. Preparing a child for the first grade and trying to make sure that she remembers this summer not only because there was a war.
Autumn. The second wave of mobilization, this time even people like me, who have never served and have some health restrictions, were involved. Against this background, panic attacks made themselves felt a little again. I didn't want to join the army. And not because I am a pacifist, but because I want to live. But at the same time, I did not do anything to avoid mobilization, I would simply feel ashamed of myself at a time when my friends and relatives are at the front. It's actually a very strange and terrifying feeling when you don't know what to do. As a result, I was not even seriously considered for service, especially since there was still a sufficient number of volunteers. Although in theory I still have a chance to join the army to this day.
School. I already wrote about it, I don't want to repeat myself, I'll just say that it's another challenge during air raids, power outages and constant stress.
Winter. Constant blackouts of electricity and heating made it impossible to relax and forget that the war was going on. But in general, life is more or less getting better, there have been no panic attacks for a very long time, financial savings have not yet been completely exhausted, the child lives a full child's life. Now I and many other people are at the stage of "normalizing war". It's a strange state when you start to live a more or less normal life, but from time to time the war tells you "I'm here".

Finally, I would like to thank you guys. First of all, because you all just exist, the community in my life is probably the only place where I can talk to people who are not directly affected by the war. It helps me, at least for some time, to distance myself from the news and problems. Secondly, for the fact that you read all this whining from me, even with a crooked translation, this is also important to me.
I love you all.

Tomorrow €500K GTD Spring Poker Championship 2023 begins. Of course, I would like to compete for two leaderboard (low and medium), but @Mr.Banroll and my inability to win at least a few tickets 25 euros through qualifications do not give this opportunity. So I will focus on a low leaderboard and try to rise as much as possible.
Good luck in the series, guys. Let's meet on the final table! 🥳😉

I'm sorry to hear about the struggles, especially your brother. You and other Ukranians are is inspiring with how strong you are!

You have a cool education (I'm studying biology related things too). Probably it's useless during the war, but maybe you can help nature recover after the war ends :classic_cool:

Feels unfair living a safe life when so many are suffering. Stay strong!

Bronze token. 0.1% chance. WoW

The emotions are completely different compared to if I won a similar amount in a freeroll. Poker is a game of skill and winning is perceived as a job well done. But when 100 euros came to you just like that, emotions simply overwhelmed you, until your palms sweated. 🤪 I'm beginning to understand why the casino draws people in.
I haven't been so happy for a long time. It's not even a matter of money, but of understanding that 0.10% was extracted. Cool. A good end to the day. Now I went to sleep.
Hope you guys draw your lucky ticket too.😉

UPD.

It turns out that a new avatar is also given for winning flips. It's cool. Love the "8-bit" style.

1. Top 5 in the leaderboard.

Failed. At first, I stayed in 12th place for several days in a row, then even jumped to 2nd place, but the last days of the league, without ITM at all, pushed me down to 9th place.

2. Get the "Tournament Winner" avatar.

Failed. 3rd place is the best result.

Quote

3. Get the "Community League Winter" avatar.

Done.

Quote

4. Get profit per series.

Done.

The results:

Flip (Discord flip including) to Community League:
Amt: 35
TBI: €1,75
Profit: €0,00 😒

€300 Community:
Amt: 24
TBI:
€155,00
Profit: €51,59 (ROI 33%)

The challenge was not completed, but I received many pleasant emotions through the league itself and had fun in the Discord rail chat. Therefore, in general, I am satisfied. And the first place will someday be...

Last week big problems with electricity. There were no significant missile strikes, but it got colder sharply, which caused a sharp increase in energy consumption and increased the load on power plants. The energy structure in Ukraine now produces 50% of electricity compared to last year. This is only the beginning of cold weather and what will happen next is unknown. But for now I won't play MTT, the cash game is not very interesting for me. Now I'm thinking about what to focus on for the time being such a power supply regime, SnG or Hexapro. I will also play Satellites on the Supermoon (as part of the 2nd challenge), they last less than two hours, the main thing is that the schedule coincides.
And for now...

Spring has come, the frosts have receded. Today, I even allowed my daughter to take off her hat during a walk.🙂 Of course, there may still be a little frost, but there shouldn't be any significant problems because of it. Everything has more or less settled down with the electricity supply as well. Ukrainians are surprisingly tenacious, even if some people don't like it. 😝😎

From Monday I will have more free time, before that the whole day was almost busy and there was not much time for poker i procrastinated. 🙃
Tomorrow I'll try to release a digest of my challenges, since Monday I'm taking on the SNG challenge, because I've run out of excuses for myself.

@LIKE2FISH thanks again, even though it was the longest headsup I've ever seen in a 2 euro tournament, I don't regret watching it. 👍

Hello everybody.
It's been a while since I've written about any of my thoughts or experiences, so today is going to be a lot of text, so hang in there.
#Community
A year ago I was thrown overboard by a big storm called the Eastern European Poker Community Association. Not that I was thrown out, I jumped out myself, but it wasn't any easier. I have been playing poker for more than ten years, I have never become a full-fledged professional, but poker is a significant part of my total income, it just so happens that micro-limits in my country can bring more profit than working as a micro-biologist (provided that corruption is unacceptable to you). But in the social interaction of poker players, I was a high roller, I always took an active part in all events and discussions, although I did not particularly stand out because there were many active participants in various forums. After the majority of Ukrainians jumped overboard of this ship, everyone went their separate ways and mostly settled in various Telegram channels, but this was not enough for me, since the chat is not the best place where I can conduct my column  "life of a professional microlimiter" .
And then I mentioned the Unibet Community. I've always liked Unibet (since the microgaming days), I don't even know why. Although I probably know, I really liked the visuals of the Unibet lettering and I love the shades of green (professional approach to choosing a poker room, right?). Then, when Unibet became independent and began to position itself as a poker room for amateurs, I imagined that I would earn incredible money here just because I know the preflop charts. As a result, for all these years my ROI at Unibet is somehow the lowest of all poker rooms. I am still sure that a professional can have very good results on Unibet, but I am less sure that I will one day become this professional.
So, I've been following the Unibet community for the past few years, but only as a reader of the Release Notes thread and some trending topics. And now the time has come to break into the European community. The zero level of knowledge of the English language is of course a problem, but thanks to scientific progress, online translators are more or less able to cope with what users want from them. The community accepted me well and as a result, I already consider myself a part of this community and do not even miss my past life on the ship.
And here came the time of the "new, cooler, younger model"© (@GR1ZZL3R) - his majesty the forum killer - Discord. I won't hide it, I also reacted a little panicked to it at first. What's going on?! I just started my blog, how Stubbe is putting sticks in the wheels of my future popularity. Aaaah! But. First, it would be nice to immediately read the news to the end, where it is clearly written that the community is planned to be developed further, and not after a bottle of Whiskey-Cola without whiskey. Secondly, if my daughter is not afraid of Discord (not only that, she even has several posters with his image and I even had to buy a Discord figure for her as a present)

Spoiler

A joke for a rather narrow audience - parents of little girls.

2023-03-12123251.png.f791e8230e5205a6fd08be94a7417fe1.png

then why should I be afraid of him?
Now I am sure that Discord is not a threat to the Community, but a quality modern addition. It is not convenient to use this platform in #rail-chat🚂 mode, just as it is inconvenient to use Discord for such posts as this one, so no Discord will ever kill the forums as long as there are people who want to write on these forums. As a moderator, I of course spend more time on Discord, but as long as I'm part of the Unibet Global Community, you'll have to read my poorly translated text on this blog. And I am happy to read and will read your texts also in crooked translation (this feature works both ways).
I love you all Unibet community members. ❤️

#ChallengeDigest
Challenge 2: Man on the moon!
My results for the period from January 1 to February 28.
2023-03-12141819.png.5c1efc17e419533f72e7a34a2fc9761f.png

Of course, the results could be better, but in general, I am satisfied with the course of Challenge. There are still tickets in the stock. From next week there will be more time for poker, so I plan to use them all.

Challenge 3: Highroller Sit & Go
I will be frank, I ignored this Challenge a little. I do not know why, or SnG tournaments are not as interesting for me as before, or just laziness, but playing in 2 months 166 tournaments is a very poor result. From next week I promise to fully deal with this challenge, remember this tweet.
If you do not look at the volume, but at the current result, then in general all is well. I started this Challenge when there were regular power outages, so a few tournaments ended in sit out, maybe the ROI would be higher. Although I do not even imagine what ROI is currently a good result in the SnG tournaments. In my opinion, this figure should be more than 10%, at least for €1-4 SnG.

2023-03-12145829.png.6a415e3805d6f7045500c28203f91636.png

At the moment, according to the rules of the Challenge, my bankroll can afford two more tournaments for 4 euros. It would be cool not to return to the tournaments for 2 euros.

Thank you for attention. Peace to all!
